  1. Packed the car up to go wheeling on Sunday Then I hear a loud clanging noise and my R50 is steering funny. I looked in the wheel well and saw this. again SLOWLY rock crawled like this all the way back to town. I am very lucky to have gotten off that trail - it was in the middle of nowhere. Gas station: Jacked up: Punched a few holes in my engine bay - this is a good one
  2. Exactly. A great rule of thumb when it comes to parts is: -Cheap -Reliable -Fast Pick two. Someone on the RX7 board said that SSautochrome only falls under the "cheap" category, a very accurate depiction.
  3. oh my, i noticed somebody put a link to SSautochrome, let me tell you from personal experience, NEVER buy ANYTHING SSautochrome!!! They are the crappiest parts i've ever used, and the sad thing is they are all over ebay. I had an ssautochrome turbo manifold on my honda civic, and it cracked completely through after about one month. Dropped my brand new $400 wastegate on the ground at 50 mph, not brand new anymore, had it re-welded and braced professionally, and it did not hold up. Re-welding their parts every month won't help - the metal they use in their parts is way too soft to support any kind of weight or pressure. Here are some random links I found about SS auto chrome: http://www.rx7club.com/printthread.php?t=381473&pp=40 http://search.reviews.ebay.com/SSAutochrome http://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_81729/tm.htm DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SSAUTOCHROME - YOU WILL GET BURNED
  4. 1989 called, they want their WD21's back!! hahahhahahha
  5. I'm running 31.6 on my stock suspension R50 and they are too big. I had to take the mud flaps off, trim a bunch of plastic, and they still rub. Now I am going to start trimming metal in the upper rear fender wells, where the stock flares are attached. I am going to hollow out the rear flares and attach them to the car with zip ties, to make them functional because right now, they are just for looks since their bulky guts are hitting my tires.
  6. Thats exactly what I did, don't worrk, it won't pinch the wire too hard, I had a cheap little wire in and it never failed me...
  7. Its probably the one, it's stuffed with wires, you need strong fingers to get it out but it is possible with help of a flat head. I've taken it out a number of times, popping it back in is just as much fun. When I drilled it, I drilled off to the edge (while it was still in) so I have about half rubber and half metal drilled, but this is completely unrelated to my CB wire. I did the CB just tucked in the edge of that grommet.
  8. I found a rubber grommet on the drivers side of the firewall. It is a wiring passageway maybe like 1" by 2" I think it is the easiest one before drilling. I have a 6 gauge power cable running through it, I just used a drill and made a nice hole for it. Sometimes it sucks to mess with it, it doesnt want to pop back in, but some hard finger work and some adrenalin and you'll pop that thing in and out in a minute each.
  9. Try running it off the battery? I ran mine straight off the battery with a fuse and never had a problem. Just don't leave it on, on accident!
  10. Anywhere from $200 to $600 would be a good price for a full cat-back. Excellent points, i'm still stuck in the Honda mindset, and Honda guys have no idea what torque even is. They live in a world with no backpressure, no torque, and high horsepower. My R50 has some nice torque down low in the RPM...
  11. the stock nissan exhaust is already 2.25, why would you replace it with one that flows exactly the same??
  12. hey, we're not ALL broke asses around here....
  13. hahaha whatever happened to "if we fail, you bet that TJM will NEVER think of nissan owners again!"
  14. oh wow, $600 for th prado lift is incredible!!
  15. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_...ag=1&cardist=75 an 03 that looks like a 96 hjahahahahha
  16. Those are the numbers according to AC. Sales tactic. The actual measurements are quite different. OEM = 115 lbs/in AC = 160 lbs/in That is over 40% stiffer. NOT the measly 20% like AC claims. Found on their own board at: http://www.4x4parts.com/ubbthreads/showfla...true#Post505099
  17. Basically, i'm in love with the stock springs. They are much too comfortable to take them out. When I saw the difference in spring rates from OEM to AC, I was shocked. I do not want to be bumped around as if I was driving a lowered rice rocket. I enjoy flying down the Mexican 5 "freeway" while sipping on a hot cup of coffee in the morning!!
  18. Hey Prado guy, can you put me down for a set? I can pre-pay you....
  19. Is 1" of extra droop with a wheel off the ground really any worse than a 2" coil lift 24/7??
  20. where can i find 1" strut spacers ready to buy?
  21. That warranty is for manufacturers defects, normal wear and tear does not count!!
  22. You know the OEM struts are KYB as well? My OEM KYB's leakerd after 100k miles, got 28k on some new KYB GR2's and they are perfect so far....
