if you think it's tranny related then it prolly is. you may not be shifting out of 2nd now unless as you say, you take your foot off the gas and it shifts hard..... that would account for the high rpm's. have the tranny checked then go from there. sounds like the root of your problem. if you want to get to know your pathy better, then yes, poke around and check the cable/wiring

maybe it's not shifting out of 2nd? my bf's camaro has been doing that. getting stuck in 2nd and not shifting to 3rd and the rpms (which are very close to my pathys) shoot up to 3100rpm at around 35mph also, check for a bad ground on the tach, make sure no wires are loose.

there are a few members who have completely removed their sway bars, but now they have to be more careful cornering as there is now not much there to control the body roll.... if your pathy is a DD.. i would suggest you keep them attached. Unless you drive like a grandma anyway *snorts*.. ok. that was a bit of exaggeration.... anyhoo. as above, depending where you live is depending whether they are a requirement to pass inspection.

sexy bolt on solutions..... that's great. i agree. trial and error is the way to truly learn.. gets expensive sometimes but the experience is ever lasting

you can find a perfectly nice set of rims for $100-$150 each... what is so special about denali rims? all the denalis i've seen have ugly, stock, boring rims on them....

yeah. i installed the headers myself, then slapped the old exhaust pipe back on to drive the 1/2 mile to the exhaust shop where they made the pipe to my specs and installed the HF cat and FM muffler fer $400 -bounce- (cost of cat, pipes and muffler included in that price.. but NOT headers)

if you are in CA then beware of the "open air filter"...... i have heard of several pathys failing smog tests because of these..... not saying yours will i have just spoke to some folks...... also.. with cams, not really wortth it here as you can only go 2 up from stock before she won't pass smog..... i run thorleys, flowmaster 50 series, HF cat and 2.5" pipe throughout and FLEW through emissions. i got more giddyup and i just don't care if i get run over by a semi on 99 or I-5....... welcome to pathy love. "slowly but surely" is the motto. where in CA are you located?

and. just to defend my flowmaster 50 series... it has a very nice rumble wihtout the ricer noise or loudness.. and here's where it sits...... also.. i have great clearance to the shock and other suspension parts down there.... as you can see by my sig... it wasn't even within 2" of the shock at that point it's nicely tucked up out of the way and with the "echo" gives it a meaty little grumble sly

sh!t. you can go buy a nice set of rims for $300 BRAND NEW

cams = pony power. sly (my next project) start with the above mentioned headers, larger exhaust pipe (2.5" is preferable ..no larger) high flow cat, good quality muffler, cone filter, cams, tune up, and after that.. you will still not have over 200hp..... if you want HP.. buy a car.... if you want a solid vehicle that will go anywhere you want it to and tow stuff...... you have it already oh.. and just to give you an idea of cost.. (depending on location..i am in CA) thorley headers $400 high flow cat $50 new 2.5" pipe throughout about $400 cone filter $60 cams.. depending if you do it or have someone do it..... $400 upwards to $1500 if you want pony power and you live in a non smog state.. drop a chevy 350 in there. yes. it HAS been done. sly
