Gods, I just heard about it this morning, and I also didn't realize it was that bad. Buildings were already damaged/weakened from the big one 6 months ago, not they have anothe strong one damn near in the city and everything is toppling. I have heard that in these low compression engines there is no benefit from the iridium plugs and that they can be detrimental if not in the proper heat range; the ecu is set for a specific range. Definitely use NGK, but the V power or Platinum is all you need, V power were OEM on the later model WD21 IIRC. As for wires, I like the STI brand. Well made, perfect fit and not terribly expensive... STI B

Did you you put in new seals when you changed the injectors?? Also, check them for damage, one person here found they were damaging the seals when installing. They should not leak, obviously. B

x2 on the 4wheelparts but wait until there is a sale. Several years back they had the ProComp 3"x30' 30,000lb strap on sale for $20 so I bought 3 or 4 of them... I wouldn't go near the HF ones, they are only rated at 6000lbs and that is only adequate for an ATV, not a SUV!! B

All I can say here it that if you are driving a vehicle in a condition that critical components are rusting off, I can't fault the vehicle. It sounds like the vehicle need to be inspected more thoroughly or even at all. B

High octane for high compression is the general rule that I know. Pathys run just fine on 87 octane at sea level, but altitude may vary. Still, it sounds like it might not be the gas. Apparently the different injector color sets can have different resistance from what the ECU expects. I'm not an expert on this but it was covered in a thread on injectors within a week st it should be easy to find. B

I'm curious how much it sagged when you chopped the roof. Any problems with the doors?? I like it BTW, I have a soft spot for MMM (Mad Max Mobiles). B

The more drag you have on the truck, the more it will affect highway mileage, but I have never heard anyone post hard numbers. I doubt 2 lights isn't going to make much a difference that will be noticed with all the other variables. Things to consider about roof mount, you have nothing to mount to so you will have to drill the roof and that has to be sealed well (running the wires isn't hard). Also it is easy to snag a roof light, either tree branches or low parking garages. If you have a sunroof, they can be a little harder to mount. You do get the best broadcast from the roof though. I also have no roof rack or basket. While I do plan to mount an Xterra roof rack (when I can find one) I don't plan to put lights on the roof. Here is what I did instead... The top are Piaa 510 amber ion beam fog lights, the bottom are 4" Hella Optilux HID off road lights (extremely bright), and once I rewire the stock headligts with relays and install the Sylvania ultrabright bulbs I have, that will be all the forward light I will need. B

I'd actually argue that. A snorkel is useful regardless of the ecu position (considering water or not) but it is the second half of prepping for deep water... B

Good point Nunya. Even a Smittybilt tube bumper with an upper hoop would offer significantly more than the stock bumper/grill which are damn near useless. Too bad you aren't closer, I have a new grill in the garage. Also, a few people have replaced their grills, one with a metal diamond mesh that looked pretty good. (I can't remember who, you'll have to search) B

Yep, check the output first. It is easy to do, replacing and setting one correctly is the pain. B
