  1. It's a switch that is installed on factory equipped 5-speed vehicles that prevents the vehicle from being started without the clutch in. My guess is that something that needs to be connected....isn't.
  2. Did you install the clutch start switch?
  3. I hate to spoil the fun that y'all are having talking about Diff Drops...but let's try to keep this thread on the topic of the Spool, k? If you want to start a new topic about the Diff Drop, feel free to. I would have split the topic, but there are several posts covering both that would not be right in either topic, by themselves, and splitting the posts would be too much work...
  4. I will take a Coilover conversion for the front end for a 96 FZJ80 Land Cruiser. Kidding....
  5. Because that service manager is a moron, and doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. Yes, it applies to every Nissan manual transmission. GL-5 = DEATH.
  6. Absolutely not necessary. Waste of money. If the tires are badly worn, I do suggest getting new ones, however the Dealership is the last place I'd get them. Thoroughly clean the engine and see for yourself. If it is indeed leaking, it's probably just a bad seal. Has the timing belt been changed? If the accessory belts are cracking, might want to take a look at the timing belt as well. If they're cracked, replace them. $270 for a BOOT is outlandish. You can buy a Remanufactured whole CV axle for $60 + core and do it yourself in about an hour per side. Smell the coolant, if it smells burnt, get it flushed. Price is about right for an RMS, but if it's not leaking, then there is no reason to do it. Get the engine and underbody thoroughly cleaned and degreased and see if it's leaking. Check the transmission fluid for oil mixture. If there is oil mixture in the ATF, do the RMS. Oil FLUSH? I'm sorry, but I don't buy this. Go to AutoZone and buy 4 quarts of oil for $11 and do it yourself. This is a good service to have done, if it hasn't been done. It'll clean out your intake and fuel systems, however, $155 is high for it. You can have it done for about $75-80 at a local, private, shop. The differential services are a good thing to have done as well. I also suggest a transmission fluid change, and a power steering flush if you're doing all of the fluids, unless they were recently done.
  7. Yeah, they're what I'm going to run for street, in a 235/85R16 (that's 32x9.3).
  8. I wouldn't go so far as to say they are "rare." But in certain areas, the automatics are much, much more common.
  9. Having Login issues? http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=14053
  10. Is the forum not remembering you since the upgrade? Are you having issues logging in? It's a rather complicated problem, with a VERY simple answer. Click on the "Delete Cookies Set By This Board" link at the bottom of your screen, and it will erase the cookies from NPORA, but leave all of your other cookies alone, and allow you to be remembered.
  11. The 3M stuff is basically a blend of Acetone and IPA, with a few other goodies thrown in for good measure. Smells WRETCHED, but works incredibly well. And yeah, a little 4.5oz bottle of it is like $7.
  12. It's a forum that has been here for a long time, it was just invisible. When the upgrade took place, it became visible. Ignore it.
  13. I've tried GooGone, Goof-Off and all of the other marketed commercial "anti-goo" products. In my experience, nothing has worked as well as the 3M Adhesive Remover for getting rid of stubborn sticker glue. I soaked a towel in it, and held it over the badging on my old car, stuff fell off without leaving ANY residue on the car.
  14. Very nice work! I rather like it...though, for now, I think I'll stick with the OEM, as it's in good shape.
  15. The mounting points would be the same, but the style is very different.
  16. I just use one of these... http://www.partsamerica.com/productdetail....rtnumber=CP9175
  17. No need... http://www.danielsternlighting.com/products/products.html
  18. Go to your local Auto Parts store and scour the Paint section for 3M Adhesive Remover. It'll take the goo right off (along with any wax or anything else you've got on your paint).
  19. My intake came with my truck... Stock Airbox FTW!
  20. These new smileys rock! But, yeah, the site doesn't seem much faster, if at all.
  21. If you never plan on taking it off-road more than a simple dirt track, look at the Michelin LTX M/S tires. They're slightly more expensive than the other tires in the class, but they've been known to last 120,000 miles or more, and have a highly regarded track record. Check out the reviews for them on Tire Rack.
