  1. The difference is in zeee buullgeeee.
  2. I agree. Bolting stuff to an aluminum head is generally a bad idea, especially if accidentally over torqued and you strip the weaker threads. It's just much safer to fasten headers/manifolds to a stud inside the head rather than bolting them straight to it.
  3. I've owned both. Auto sucks. Period. And I just replaced an automatic transmission in a Pathfinder, it really sucked. I hate how it drives, how it shifts, when it shifts, ratios between gears, etc.
  4. I have on both my '87 and '88. Didn't notice much of a difference at all power wise or economy.
  5. I'd like to point one thing out... I've seen two single cab pickups with the V6. I pulled the TPS sensor and brand new NGK wires from one in a junk yard.
  6. Someone didn't zip tie your drive lines did they?
  7. And yet another piece of hideous work from Nissan.
  8. Yep, I've had mine installed for about 6 months now.
  9. I know they changed the combination of metals at some point in time which ended up being weaker, but less expensive to produce. That's one of the major reasons why the 4-doors rust out much more than the 2-doors.
  10. Brake cleaner is your friend, liquid form is even better. Only problem is it's hard to get your hands on, when I was interning at Freighliner and I was rebuilding motors everything was cleaned with brake cleaner. They had 500 gallon drums of it out back. I shoulda asked them if I could have a few gallons...
  11. I've noticed a lot of people say their rigs get a little scary at high speeds, I don't notice it at all. It's harder to reach high speeds because the torque curve falls off pretty quickly.
  12. I've hit 100. It falls flat on on it's face from 3rd to 4th.
  13. I noticed a difference with drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads. The brakes barely fade at all going down steep mountain roads anymore, towing a trailer down used to be pretty sketchy. It doesn't seem to stop in a much shorter distance, but it's more consistent. I'll be upgrading to stainless lines sometime soon as the pedal is beginning to get a little too mushy for me.
  14. My first thoughts when holding a new set of Pacesetters for a Pathfinder were "Really? Are you serious?"
  15. I don't think it's worth it if it needs a lot of repairs. It may be for the street, but there always comes a time where a 2WD SUV really doesn't make sense. 4x4 is just another safety feature, saying "I really wish I had 4-wheel drive" when you need it isn't fun.
  16. Looks good, it looks like it would fit a Dodge Ram though. Interested to see how it'll look on your rig!
  17. BMW designs their engines pretty well.... Looks like a fun project! Is that your Suburban in the background? Looks really nice. Lol sorry, I have a thing for older Suburbans since I grew up with one and learned how to drive in it. Still miss that old boat.
  18. Belt dressing, waxing, water, and taking a wire brush to the side of the belt while the engine is running are only temporary fixes. You'll probably need a new belt, or you'll need to clean off the pulley real well. It could be glazed over and can't grab the belt as well as it should.
  19. Exedy, like stated above, is who makes Nissan's replacement clutches. Any factory replacement from a dealer would be an Exedy clutch, just re-labeled to say Nissan. I honestly don't see the point in even considering a dealer of any sort when you can get the same thing for $150 or so with shipping. I priced the same parts from my Exedy clutch with Rob and it was almost $400. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXEDY-CLUTCH-KIT-85-97-NISSAN-PATHFINDER-PICKUP-3-0-L-/400052471071 I just installed this clutch in my Pathfinder, works great.
  20. How much power gain and did you notice any mileage difference?
  21. Factory electric shocks. I have that same plug that's not connected to anything on the valve cover. I'm not sure what it's for but my best guess would be it's something to do with an automatic equipped rig. It looks like your cruise control assembly is missing too?
  22. Napa sells the same stuff for 1/8th the price. And it might run fine with a bad head gasket, but not for long.
