  1. Are you in Vancouver, WA or Vancouver BC? I'm in WA and have a torque converter and flex plate with only 102,000 miles on it if you do find your torque converter is blown. Weird, I got a call last night asking for a transmission/torque converter for a VG...
  2. The only Ford in the entire thread. I believe it's the RS200.
  3. That one pissed me off too. It can also be a pain in the ass getting the two plates between the block and bell housing to line up and get bolts through.
  4. I think the ECU needs to go in the glove box, not behind it. I can't see any way you could fit a computer back there without removing/moving something. The harness comes from the firewall and to the passenger seat, all you'd need to do is pull the wiring from under the carpet and move it up under the dash. If anything at all, wires would need to be shortened.
  5. Oh yeah, now that K9 mentioned it, make sure you get the two topmost bolts on the bell housing. They are a pain in the ass, and sometimes worse to torque down upon instillation.
  6. Oops. Basically the lifters are dry as of now, there might be oil around them but not thoroughly in them. If it were me I'd take the plenum off and pull the lifters, and soak them in oil for a few days then put them back in and see what happens.
  7. I believe you're supposed to soak the lifters in oil for a few days with a ZDDP additive... MY1PATH has a lot of information regarding the lifters and such, maybe he'll chime in.
  8. I'm fairly sure they were talking about the gasket size for the collector pipe...
  9. It should have gone into a fail-safe mode if the MAF was unplugged, and not rev above 2,000 RPM. Not just die... I would take it dying with a large grain of salt though.
  10. Sounds like you severed the harness going through the steering column. I'd take off the trim pieces and have a look inside.
  11. Nissan (Exedy) clutches have been proven to be some of the strongest out there and can take an enormous amount of abuse. You've got a fluke.
  12. Interesting to see the sensor on the later MPFI WD21s actually being true to the name of "coolant temperature sensor" as it actually measures the temperature of the coolant. The earlier TBI Pathfinder sensors have nothing to do with coolant because it measures the temperature of the cylinder head, and it's proper name is the Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor or CHTS. They all basically mean the same thing, just loose terminology gets thrown around.
  13. No you don't have to drop the torsion bars? Is that only for an automatic? I've yarded my engine out a few times and didn't touch the torsion bars or transmission in any way.
  14. I found it to be way easier if you pull the motor, but since I've done it so many times I can do it in less than an hour...
  15. As long as you have the clutch alignment tool you're set. Also replace the throw out bearing and the pilot bushing wouldn't be a bad idea as well.
  16. My buddy had his hand in front of the intake, and when I red lined it, his hand actually got sucked in to the air box. It was pretty funny since he freaked out. It does a lot better than what it used to, it was about 12 seconds to 60 with the TBI and now it's down to 9. Not bad, considering I barely paid anything for the swap and nothing for the entire motor in general. Eventually I'll put Mr.510's headers on it, 2.25" cross over pipe, 2.5" pipe from there to where the cat would be, then 3" out the back.
  17. And it's a bitch to replace, that's for sure! I replaced mine when I put the new motor in and had the entire top end taken apart. Cheap insurance, even if the sensor only had 102,000 miles on it. 17 is definitely better than 14!
  18. Same here at Les Schwab (I hate that place, by the way). We've never had a single complaint of uneven wear on any vehicle the entire time I worked there, we set everything to 35 unless the customer asks otherwise. I noticed poor tread wear only on tires inflated below 30 PSI and above 40 PSI, but never within 32-38. 26 PSI is stupid for the street unless it's a dedicated MT, where that's too much pressure. I'd prefer not to drive an oafing whale around town that accelerates, stops, and corners like ass with a noticeable drop in fuel economy. No thank you! Like I said before, 35 PSI and perfect tread wear on my Pathfinder running 31" Michelin ATs.
  19. Link doesn't work, but I'm assuming that's torch down roofing material. I've got the @!*% everywhere, made a huge difference in highway noise and the bass stays in the cabin.
  20. Here's your stupid video. It wouldn't hit 105 because my insanely fat friend was in the passenger seat. The engine note is not the exhaust, it's the intake. It's really that loud. By my count it's roughly 9 seconds to 60 with 285 extra pounds in the passenger seat.
  21. If you can, find a bottle jack that extends the piston and also has a twist top that screws out. The one I have does this, and you can unscrew the top to literally double the upward travel of the piston it's self.
