  1. The truck has been sitting for a few months due to a horrific misfire/ sputter that I just could not figure out. MY1PATH's '89 fried an ECU which got me thinking, so I looked inside mine and found a bbq'd resistor. Don't know what it's to. I replaced the ECU and it runs perfect again. I haven't been able to find the cause of the burned up resistor. It may have been a fluke thing or something, somewhere, is loading it down too much. It took about 2-3 months for the resistor to burn up so I might not know if it's "fine" until another 2-3 months. We'll see. I made a video my new camera. I'm still quite fond of the intake noise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhdP89wyaKs
  2. MPFI Pathfinders adjust the timing curve via the ECU off-idle. TBI Pathfinders do not. What you set it at is what it will remain at throughout the RPM range, and they also run a base timing of 12 degrees BTDC. You can advance the TBI timing to 15 degrees BTDC for some extra oomph and fuel mileage. Timing belt interval for '98-'93 Pathfinders is 60,000 miles and 105,000 miles for '94-'95 Pathfinders. Do the cam seals while you're in there. VG33 exhaust manifolds are also 10MM just like the Z31T studs.
  3. Drove the hell out of it yesterday. Forgot how much I actually missed driving it.
  4. I'm sure code enforcement loved your park job!
  5. VG510 guys run 7-8K all day on the track and the engines love it.
  6. I took the Z31 ECU out and took it apart. Inside I found a burned out resistor which would explain why it runs like a bag of ass. Got a new computer coming which should fix the problem. Then I'm going to repair the original one and keep it as a spare. Finally made some headway with the stupid thing.
  7. Exactly. That's good news Garret. Too bad it took 2 computers to figure it out...
  8. You know Garret, your problem got me thinking about mine. So I took apart the Z31 computer that's running my engine to see if there was something wrong, and this is what I found...
  9. Ok, so wait until you get to the truck...?
  10. Well, if you would you would find that sagging torsion bars is a common problem and there are quite a few threads covering the remedies. Like this one. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=17038&st=0
  11. Go to the hardware store. They are nothing special, just grade 8.8 bolts. Bring one with you and match them up...
  12. I don't mean to be rude Zelix, but if you choose to go the lazy route with this and hope it'll be fine - you're an idiot. If you don't want to take the advise from the folks on this board, who do know what they are talking about, and then state you're going to ask other sources, then why even bother posting a thread asking about it in the first place? Go to the junk yard or hardware store and replace the four bolts, four lock washers, and four nuts. Then don't over tighten them. It's cheap insurance.
  13. I broke a Pathfinder drive shaft bolt once by over-tightening it - not by much either. Pissed me off. It's really not something to over tighten and weaken, considering the rotating mass, vibration, and the load put on them when accelerating or downshifting.
  14. Yeah, I was talking with him about that earlier. Pin 26 is the common ground for the TPS, CHTS, and MAF sensors. Given that those are the codes being thrown, and the burned out circuit, that's where I'd start my investigation.
  15. $30-40 for a set of NGKs is expensive?
  16. I had the same issue James and it was the slave cylinder. Replaced, bled, and drove it without anymore issues.
  17. I've had almost every single code an '84 Z31 computer can throw. That was when I was first wiring everything in. Now I have a code for the FTS, O2 sensor, load sensor, and TPS because I don't have them wired in.
  18. I would if I could get it to run right. I should just fix it and sell it.
  19. That would definitely be what to hope for!
  20. The Xterra and Frontier VG33 RE4 transmissions are Heavy Duty and will bolt right in. Electronics and part numbers are the same. The VG33 R50s used the same RE4 as the WD21s.
