  1. Yeah, I really hope that bad isn't plastic...
  2. I really hope I'm the only one who thought that made no sense. Pic?
  3. Junk yard, Ebay, or Craigslist and hope to get lucky
  4. Will the Pro Comp ES3000 Shocks or the Rancho RSX17000 or the RS5000 shock work with a stock suspension? Or do I have to lift it for these to work? I might be doing a body lift in the future, but the suspension lift is out of the question for a long while yet ($$$) My front shocks are deader-than-dead, and need to be replaced. Any personal preferances? EDIT: And which Pro Comp ones would I be getting if I did, the model number? Is it 314518?
  5. Terminology I think, I've always referred to what holds the lower IFS assembly the subframe
  6. I replaced the compression rod bushings, didnt do anything but cause alot of anger and frustration as something in mine is bent too. I'm beginning to think that my whole subframe is bent since its been jumped. If yours is the same as mine, then something on yours is definitely bent. What exactly, I have no idea other than the subframe maybe
  7. The OTHER side? Wtf? I had no idea that was even possible! EDIT: that pic is of the driver's side btw, in case it was mixed up with the passenger side
  8. He'd more likely mow over kids WITH the ABS since it won't let the vehicle stop. At least skidding in the snow gives you a little bit of traction and friction versus almost none when the ABS cuts off brake pressure and fights the pedal every step of the way. I almost kit a kid in the Kia when the weather was bad. The brakes wouldn't grip at all, and I could feel the ABS fighting the pedal. It was as dangerous as it gets just about. I'll never drive that thing in the snow again.
  9. you can align the rear wheels?

    Water sucks

I tried to, but they would just not go in with anything at all behind those bushings. That's why I'm pretty sure something is bent. I talked to the guy I bought it from, and he admitted he jumped it about 3 feet in the air. The rubber around in the fender wells doesnt line up anymore either, I noticed that.
  11. Well what speed does the shimmy start at? Does it get worse the faster you go? Does it get better or worse with steering inputs to the left or right? Does it shimmy worse when you hit the brakes? Honestly, just a generic "shimmy" leaves a lot of possibilities of what it could be.

Aye aye aye, just got done replacing those damn things. Something is bent somewhere, on both sides. Took a lot of prying, torching, winching, bottle jacks, hammering, all kinds of stuff to get them in place. The rod wouldn't remotely line up with the bolts with the new bushings on. Took almost 10 hours for both sides with me and my step dad. Bad news is, the shock is still in the UCA under full droop. The driver's side, in the pics, were by far the worst condition wise, but easiest to put the new bushings on. The passenger side, though better condition wise, was what took almost all the time. Good thing is, my front end is actually sitting higher with the torsion bars set to zero. So its sitting where it should be.
  13. Well how big is the tranny cooler you got? And how involved do you want to get? I'd imagine you can put the cooler between the two, but that, to me, seems like too much work. If you cant find a way to put it in front of everything, you could put it on the engine side of the radiator as long as it doesn't touch the the fan. Mine, taken from directly in front of the truck: Taken from underneath, where you can see I had room to slide it up. It's between my bull guard and the bottom part of the grill.
  14. Thats your AC condenser. There's only 2 lines coming from the tranny for the oil, and if they're BOTH hooked up to the radiator, that rules out having another cooler already installed. Unless there's not any lines going to the radiator...but I'm pretty sure you would have mentioned that already The stock tranny cooler is a little 2" tall by 14" wide piece in the very bottom of the radiator.
  15. Also, coils run about $25 or so. Since Nissan uses about the hottest spark you can get from a factory vehicle, theres not much need for anything fancy
  16. Im sure mine were just as bad before i replaced them for the first time... You dont need to replace the coil until it goes bad. They generally either work or they dont, not one of those things where they get weak after time
  17. The hard shifts I think are fairly normal for a lot of transmissions when they're cold
  18. My center pieces came off loooooong ago, and those do look good thats for sure! I'll see how many cans of black my dad can get from the Port for me
  19. Easiest is to take the grill off, yeah. Mine couldnt come off because of the bullguard and since it was wrecked the bolts were twisted to where it would never go back on. So, I went up from the bottom. There should be enough space to slide it in without hurting the vains too much. I had to have a friend hold it in place while I pushed the nylon sticks through the radiator and AC condenser. It all varies though
  20. 1) Does the vehicle only act up when you have a passenger with you? No, only when I'm by myself 2) Have you seen the movie 'Christine'? You know, I was thinking the same thing!
