  1. I tell ya, vice grips keep the door up nicely. Just clip the on to the rod and you're all set. Just don't bump them and undo them when under it, that usually doesn't do the head too well...
  2. From experience, dunking one in liquid results in being $120 further into the hole.
  3. And the transmissions in the WDs and the R50s are the same, except the 87 3-speed ones.
  4. There's no vacuum lines for the trans. Like 88 said, poor voltage will cause the transmission to behave strangely.
  5. It does? Sh!t!!! I called a buddy who has a FSM and it said nothing about lifting the engine. Just remove all the mounting brackets and seperate the rear-most cross member holding the diff from the diff and it will slide out and down. But of course those nuts would not come undone and one stripped, so the entire night was a total waste of time. Busted up the back of my hand pretty good though. Lol. Aye aye aye...
  6. Lol well the bolts attaching the rear cross member to the diff would not come undone. So... Yeah... Have to figure something out. And screw beer, JD!
  7. Having issues getting it out! Got the rear brace undone, but it's hitting on the torsion bar on the passenger side. The front mounts don't have enough room to swivel down and out of the way, one is hitting on the oil pan. The front cross member bolts on the top can't come out, because the LCA bracket is covering up where the bolt should pull through! Do I have to lift the engine up to clear the brackets on the front of the diff to get it to come out?! Ahh!
  8. How would I tune it up...? All the plugs, wires, cap and rotor are new. Along with a hi-flow cat and muffler, O2 sensor, and a few other emissions stuff...
  9. It's just fine Stock 31x1050x15 tires.
  10. GO FOR IT! If you do, you'll have beat me to my original plans
  11. Lucky. I get a solid 12, feather-light driving or with my foot in it.
  12. I uh, I stuck a pop can on the top of the tires and cranked them till the fender just slightly hit the top of the can...
  13. That uses more gas, as the engine is outside of its torque range where it's performance and economy is at its peak. The engine also has to strain harder to accelerate in lower gears at low RPM.
  14. Off site image hosting website. Photobucket, imageshack, etc. There's a thread on it, search!
  15. And it starts shaking unprovoked, right? No bumps or anything, just smooth surface then suddenly starts shaking with no apparent cause?
  16. Have a plate welded on or a cup or something. Here's what mine looked like:
  17. The compression rod (tension rod, whatever) usually only make the steering wheel shake, not the whole truck. There is no adjustibility, just new bushings which you can get at www.rockauto.com
  18. mixed driving i get 250 miles on a tank. probably due to the winterized gas
  19. ^^ and if you do, be sure to get it properly aligned to prolong the life of the ball joints and what not.
  20. Yup! What's the harm, possibly damaging parts that are going to be replaced in the near future anyways? Might as well have some fun while it lasts lol. I'm definitely going to be extremely easy on her once the new tranny is in. This Friday will be my last of that kind of fun.
  21. I have the new tranny for it, waiting till this one goes out to put it in. Could be tomorrow, or next year for all I know. Have a new set of rear shoes for it as well. And an old set of tires that are already illegal to drive...so...
