  1. Here's the L&P website. I've got it bookmarked for when I save enough $$$ to get some goodies...
  2. Here's a pic of what I'm thinking of doing... Please excuse the shabby art work.
  3. Now that you've had it on for a while what do you think of it? How does it work in the rain? I'd like to make one sometime since I've already waterlocked the engine once. Rain is my main concern. I've seen the safari snorkels that have a special top for keeping rain out. I was thinking of making a "drop" in the line with a water release thing on the bottom... Like on the bottom of those BIG breathers on the side of Mack Trucks. It's like a rubber cone that closes when no water is draining out.
  4. What do the alignment guys do to it when you get all 4 wheels done?
  5. If you just need the motor and whatever it's hooked to I know of a 91 4 door in a junkyard close by that I've been picking apart for a while now... I'll check the cost, but the guy is REAL reasonable... He gave me the rear window switches for free when I asked how much he wanted for'em... Charged $10 for a coil, $15 for a stock crome rim, $1 for the front tow hook, ect... Just let me know if you want me to call the place for a price check... Or you can call if you want...(281) 530-6800 it's a Houston #...
  6. First time I saw Heavy Metal I was still just a cartoon watching kid... So it was like the god of all cartoons... Me and a couple of my friends even took the VCR over to another friends house that also had a VCR so we could make copies for ourselves and return the tape to the rental place... I bet I've seen that movie 1 or 2 hundred times over the last decade... That and "THE WALL"...
  7. Why does it say "show all" at the bottom, then just show the same ones that are already there???
  8. I think this is the one they're selling.... SAVERO M/T Outstanding Traction on The Mud Terrain Looks like a nice tread pattern... I was checking out their other "offroad" tires and they have what looks like the old army jeep tires. I wonder how these would work out on the road... I just noticed that a "truck" tire as in "big truck" -alcohol-
  9. I had a little extra wear on the inside of the back passinger tire when I was running the Timberlines A/Ts... I put a level on the rim with the truck sitting level in the garage and it was off just a little bit in the direction that would cause the inside of the tire to wear faster... My question is can I adjust it myself to get it level at least till I can find the time and $$$ to get all 4 wheels done right??? Is this possible or just a dumb idea??
  10. Sorry to go off subject, but Costa Rica... I've been wanting to go there since I was about 15yrs old... What kinda trip was it? How did you like it? I'd luv to hear about it. You should do a new post about it if it was a cool trip... :cool2: Oh, 90seven,,, Thanks
  11. Check the air filter and fuel filter if your not sure when they where changed last...
  12. If I'm not mistakin 4x4parts.com is a BAD place to do business... I believe 88 posted a tread about the sh!t that goes on over there... Just bad customer service would acceptible by some people, but from what I've read these people are just criminals...
  13. Just a thought... I've never heard of a vehical using noticably more gas because of more electrical draw on the alternator... I have a friend who has 3 alternators in his caddy... and like 8-12 batteries... Running his car, sound system, and hydraulics... I've never hear him complain about the alternators making the car use a lot of gas... I have however rode in that ruff riding POS (back breaker) and heard myself complain about the ride...
  14. Sport tranny switch maybe? DO Pathy's even have those, other than the towing option switch? My shock swith says something like "Comfort/ Performance". Seems to me that you may have a "combo" touring/sport switch... Like maybe it adjusts the stock shocks while altering the shift pattern of the tranny... Mine only has the switch for the tranny adjustment... A good way to tell if that's the kind of switch you have is to push the gas pedal almost to the floor but not all the way... Watch the RPMs to see when it shifts... Now flip the switch the other way, slow down and smash the gas to the same position just above flooring it. If it's in the "sport" tranny mode it should go just about to the redline before shift into the next gear, touring should shift out at a more civilized RPM... The reason you want to do this lil experiment without pushing the gas all the way to the floor is; because the pathy's that do have the adjusting sport setting on the tranny also have a "micro switch" at the gas pedel to "sense" when you're flooring it... That way you can have full power without having to remember to reach down and flip the switch. Please, correct me if I'm wrong... I'm grasping at straws here...
  15. Check this out. Pimped spare tire carrier thread. He did a really nice job. Yep,Yep... That's where the idea came from... I was mainly wondering if it could hold that much wieght all the time for a few years... I thought about it and figured that a lot of guys are carrying a 33" tire on there's with no problems that I've heard of, and that's got to be close to the same wieght as what I'm wanting it to carry... I just need to find a cheap mig welder for the garage when I have a lil extra $$$...
  16. That can't be right... No way... I don't believe it for a second...
  17. I don't quite understand what you mean by that... For the record I and every welder/fabricator I worked with would luv to be on that show... It's been discussed around the shop many times...
  18. From driving an 18wheeler cross country I can tell you now that you'll almost always find the cheapest gas around the SW Texas "TX/LA" area...(and cheapest pot)... Where the most expensive is all over California, and on the Northern East Coast like north of NC. Something that always messes with my head is the diesel to gas price differences. Like diesel being $1.65 while gas is $1.75, then a month later it'll be $1.90 for diesel and $1.80 for gas...?
  19. $2.15 yesterday, $2.17 this morning, $2.21 at lunch time.... Houston... :furious:
  20. When my tire carrier gets hard enough to make my wife complain I shoot some WD-40 on the hinges and it works good for a couple/few weeks... Has anyone had any problems with putting too much wieght on there tire carrier and causing damage??? I've been thinking of mounting a jerry can and my hi-lift jack on there.
  21. You just made my day... I've been troubled by the thought of someone stealing my brand new BFG 31" MT spare w/matching rim... I noticed the little stud/post with the hole in it, never thought about putting a lock on there... The hole seems a little small, and I don't know if I'd like the look of a master lock hanging off the back of the truck in front of my shiny new "stock" rim. I luv the idea about drilling a hole that lines up with lug hole in the rim... That way I could have it locked with a good size lock and have it be kinda hidden between the spare and the tailgate... Thanks for the tip...
  22. I was thinking it was normal for it to get black from changing the tranny fluid and filter in a chevy cavaliar with 70,000 miles and it was pretty black compared to the red new fluid... But that's driving 70,000 miles on a POS car like it was a sports car... 0-60 in as fast as I could possibly do it every time I started from a stop... I was the kind of teenage driver that gives teenage drivers a bad name... Now I'm almost 28 and drive "respectfully" while wanting to choke people that drive like I used to drive because I have my family in the car...
  23. It's about $2.15 around Houston today, no telling what it'll be tomorrow... pssd
  24. A buck for ringtones wouldn't be too bad, but Nextel has most decent ones at $1.99 and good ones are $2.99... I was really exciting when I first figured it out. Now I don't dl'em that much.. Same with just about everything tho...
