    Flying R50

Sorry, the link was from our Yahoo! group, I guess that's why just me could see it ... Here it is

    Flying R50

Fabio Tabarelli's flying R50 reached 33,92 meters (about 111 feet) which he claims to be the longest distanced already reached in Brazil.
  3. I have a 20 liter can to add also, and its holder is very heavy. Maybe this weekend I will mount, it will be very helpful, I plan to do a 23 day trip to Patagonia in about a month, and there are roads where we will run 200 or more miles with no gas station - and even if we find one, it doesn't mean there will be gas.
  4. It's a 33", it doesn't let the rear window open, so I guess if I add a wheel spacer it will do.
  5. I was thinking if mounting the spare with a 1" wheel spacer would add too much stress to the tire carrier .
  6. It seems to be the same for all, mine is a 1994 and it looks like the upper hinge plates are slightly thicker than the lower ones, so that should be the cause. Maybe that's to give more strength... I'm gonna buy the same kit for mine.
  7. So the manual says the std type plugs in Cali are BKR6EY, and BKR5EY except Cali. I don't know why the different specs. I'm not in California, I'm in Brazil, 50F-70F in Winter, 80F-95F in Summer. Euro spec cams in the engine. I don't know if it matters. Could I use NGK Iridium BKR6EIX, or would be better BKR5EIX ?
  8. I've found that DNJ is made by - or the same as - Rock Products.
  9. Just ordered euro specs cams from AC, and got an offer to buy the S1 from them, it's a temptation but I think at the end it will cost US$500 more (with new springs), maybe too much, and I don't know if it will give more torque at low rpms.
  10. Guess it will take an year to have the original engine back... and a lot more to solve it, like a compensation for all troubles
  11. Unfornately, it isn't that simple here in Brazil. It's not easy to find a VG30E engine, and they cost a lot of money compared to USA. And we cannot import used engines from Japan, as well, customs don't allow it. When importing parts, taxes are applied to cost + freight, and local (state) taxes also, and at the end the price doubles. But sometime it is still good. An old WD21, say 1994 like mine, worth like US$ 10k. The engine I'm rebuildind isn't the one from my Pathfinder, I just bought it. This one was running but I decided to rebuild it as everything was out yet. The original engine, which broke the crankshaft, was rebuilding at the end of last year, but it was kind of stolen (in fact, the mechanic who was rebuilding it made a mistake and now it is running in another WD21, so I began a lawsuit against the mechanic, the shop who was boring the block, the owner of the other WD21, and so on. A lot of annoyance.
  12. Broken crankshaft. Should I say 'master rebuild kit' ? That is actually what says at Rockauto. I'll need: - engine gaskets - main & connecting rod bearings - pistons & rings as well as (for peace of mind): - oil pump - t-belt - water pump and I'm thinking about: - euro cams - valve lifters
  13. Looking for an engine rebuild kit at Rockauto for my 94, I've found two available, both from DNJ Engine Components. Also, some exhaust valve, intake valve, valve lifters and water pump from the same brand, at a reasonable price. Does anyone know if DNJ is a good brand that I can trust, or should I spend more in a better one?
  14. Be back soon...

    Engine number

Hi, guys! It's been a long time. Last year the crankshaft of my Pathfinder broke and I had to rebuild the engine. Everything was fine till someone gave (mistake? bad intentions?) the block of my engine to another Pathfinder owner. So there's a engine block that I don't know who's the owner, I just know it's not mine. I found my Pathfinder's engine block number in the transit department, and definitely it's not that one. And I couldn't check the owner of the other engine. But I've talked to the one who is supposed to be the owner, but there is no engine number in the documents. Is there anywhere else I could find the engine number other than the engine? I mean, easier then there?
  16. So, did anyone test the Jet Performance V – Force Module ?
  17. Or you can use a bigger tire in the slower speed axle
  18. Just ordered a set of them, maybe in 2 weeks they will be here so I can install 'em.
  19. No one has bought & installed them ?
  20. Yep, but Brazilian duties will take about US$ 400... It's really cheaper to custom build it in this case.
  21. Will moving to 2" or 2.25" pipes, cat and muffler, but keeping stock headers give more power ?
  22. Oh, forget it... I've just found what I need to know I've searched before but did not use the right words Lack of better English language skills
  23. I'm considering to have a local shop custom fab a new exhaust setup for me. Thorley + muffler + shipping + duties will go much higher than US$ 1000. Is it neccessary to change the header ? Won't just less restrictive tubes and muffler give my Pathy a bit more power ?
