I asked AC in an e-mail back in September but never got any reply... I don't see why they wouldn't work but I'd hate to spend the money just to find out they don't.
-
I'm hoping my persuasion skills might come in handy... But you're probably right. Even just the dimensions for the TJM would be sweet, though. I've got a connection for custom fabrication and having blueprints handy would make a HUGE difference.
-
I've pleaded and pleaded with him but no luck...For the TJM or his badass snorkel. But I wouldn't hurt the guy; he gave me his camera mount!
-
Haha He's got a point, though. I'd kill for a TJM bumper, or even just the blueprints...

I've heard little praise on the R50 rear LSD but I'm sure it makes a big difference when it is needed, i.e. slow motion while offroading, etc. but apparently the breakaway torque value is pretty weak when compared to other stock LSD's... Open diffs do blow goats, though, and I look forward to the day I can afford a set of ARB air lockers for my rig.
-
You're the nx4 guy, correct? Sweet website btw. The ARB bumper fits nicely except for the gap. Maybe a thicker rubber piece in between could help take up some space...?
-
So then a D44 front is a better option because of aftermarket support and parts availability in terms of going SAS... Something important should an SAS front conversion ever be considered.
-
The R50 OEM axles should be more than capable of handling 33's, no? What advantage would Dana 44's offer over the H233B?

how much body roll when sway bars removed?

Well, I'm convinced. As soon as I get home from work, my rear sway bar is getting uninstalled! -
Yup, the VG and VQ plenums are different... And on posting up pics!

Oops, I forgot to the put it in Imperial... sorry. Yeah, that's about 50-80mph. So, it's all gravy then, eh? -
I wouldn't be surprised if the people at whom you've flashed those lights have probably pooped a little when they came on. Probably thought they were on a runway or something.
-
Yup, that's the plenum. Why did that shop suggest it get replaced?

I installed a set of Moog greasable links but they aren't quick disconnects. I figure with struts installed anyway, there's no point in trying to maximize flex potential in front; just save it for the rear! As for driving style, I drive pretty modest on the road. Off the road is another story; that's just to get the most torque as possible, though. So I could take my rear sway bar out, drive on the highway doing 80-120km/h, and not have any significant issues? -

I have no intentions putting it on three wheels but I don't want to take out the front sway bar. The rear doesn't worry me so I have no issues removing that. But the quick release links will be of no use anymore... -

So for the SFD the rear sway comes out no matter what? Does the front have to come out, too? -
I'm with Lax on this one. The lens pattern on the R50 isn't designed for a HID bulb and the light dispersion will be a mess no matter how you adjust the housings. If you really want HID headlights for your R50, you'd be better off to get the JDM kit as it's a HID set-up with the proper lens pattern.

That would be entertaining to see! -
Looks as good as new from what I can tell in that picture! Hopefully my luck's as good when I get the rust bullsh*t repaired come spring...
-
Yup, that's what I have. Made sure of that when I installed the new CV axles 'cause those babies need to be kept safe.
-
Yup, the housings have adjustment screws. When I installed new bulbs in the '98 I parked about 10 ft from the garage door with the headlights on. Using the pattern on the garage door and a tape measure I adjusted them accordingly. Then I reversed down the driveway to make sure the light dispersed properly at a distance. It took about 15 mins to make it work.

Quick release sway bar links are a good solution if you want minimal body roll on-road but maximum flex while off-road. The only problem with this is the loosely hanging sway bar... -
Which Suspension lift package?
tekazgtr1984 replied to OR99.5Speed's topic in R50 FAQ's & Pinned Topics
It's a company called Proflex. I don't know the model # but I do know they are no available in North America... I've attempted to contact their HQ in the Netherlands regarding R50 products so let's hope something good comes out of it. -
Bastage! I'd love a NPORA decal for the Pathy...

Kick-ass! The forum's loooooooooooking gooooooooooood! ...Forgive my terrible impression.
