  1. Agreed. Steelies looks just as badass! But yes, moving away from the salt is always a good solution (I'm trying the same thing as we speak).
  2. Agreed. But then again, they're probably not considering salt spray as a factor... So far, the AR wheels have done pretty well taking on the winter punishment. They are just caked with salt so I don't know what will happen when I wash them.
  3. LOL Thought of that but my primary option (realistically & financially) is for now the VG33ER... If I can manage to get lucky with locating a QD32ETi then things may change.
  4. The spline ring's the reason I went with Warn. I'd rather replace a small ring than an entire CV axle...
  5. I don't imagine those MT's will fair the salty winters any better...
  6. Well yeah, that first and foremost. You want to make sure those bearings stayed lubed and in good working order. But maintenance-wise you could take the unit apart, check the gasket, clean all the pieces, verify the bolts/washers, etc. I'd say do that every 6 months, depending on how you wheel it, and those hubs should last the lifetime of your rig. My hubs didn't come with maintenance instructions, so I'm merely going on what my mechanic told me.
  7. So I've finished up corresponding with Maxspeed regarding the R50 oil filter relo kit, and they seem pretty confident in their product. All the hardware is included and they also have a shipping warehouse specifically for Canadian customers. I think this could have some serious potential.
  8. Took us 5 days to swap a S13 SR20 into his 240SX... ended up being easier than we hoped. I have total confidence in getting this swap done.
  9. Yeah, for a company, that's a pretty weak statement if you ask me.
  10. I'm looking forward to fabbing up a rad hood! I'm just hoping I can find a donor Xterra before long so I can figure out all the details to make this swap go as smoothly as possible. For the moment, the R50's my only ride...
  11. I'm in correspondance with the seller regarding this part, so when I've got some details confirmed I'll post 'em up!
  12. Really? I contacted the seller for this item in particular and said it should work without any issues... As for the the Sure Drain part # no worries. I ordered the SD-3 which is just what the R50 needs!
  13. Agreed! The VK56DE is a nasty engine, especially in a R51 (lighter than the Armada or Titan). As for the me, I'm trying to locate a VG33ER to swap into my R50. Then all that needs to be done is a custom hood modification.
  14. Oil filter relo kit is your answer, Pezzy! http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=360115550423 You said Fram Sure Drain has a kit for the R50? Do you have a part #?
  15. Depends on how you wheel your rig. I'm gonna try for every oil change (5,000km/3,000mi). I was told to do it every few months but that seems excessive to me...
  16. What Pezzy said. The mounting locations for all R50's are the same. Pezzy's '99.5 has the same skids as my '98.
  17. The struts topping out will be pretty much commonplace as long as your rig is lifted. It's not so much as it just sounds nasty but you will get used to it over time. As for the topping out issue itself, I've been told there is a solution: limiting straps. My knowledge is still limited, though.
  18. Yup, once those skids are complete, post some pics!
  19. I have yet to notice any mileage difference since installing hubs but then again the weather's been just stupid so my mileage has been the sh*ts anyway... Like Dean said, don't just jump on the bandwagon until assessing whether you need hubs or not.
  20. Yeah, it's probably not the greatest idea. Hopefully by spring I'll have something figured out to facilitate armour for my rig!
  21. Yup, unless you go full custom, AC's really the only option presently. Here's to hoping that changes...
  22. Isn't it bad altogether to engage 4x4 with the hubs unlocked, All-Mode or not?
  23. What Pezzy said... Marcel's currently on hiatus and no word has been confirmed whether or not he'll return to fabbing up Pathy parts. That being said, you might get lucky if you can find a local fab shop.
  24. Damn you for being so far away... Otherwise I'd take those!
