  1. ..No. I'm starting it in about 20 minutes.
  2. Having a lifted R50 has slightly alterred the accuracy of my speedometer reading and if I'm not mistaken the ODO reading must be slightly off, too...? I wonder if anyone's ever done a recalibration on a R50 speedometer/odometer to make it accurate with larger tires.
  3. I wouldn't worry about that with the VQ R50. Even in my '98, running 32's I still accel and brake just fine.
  4. You betcha! They've got products mostly for the Patrol/Safari but I've seen stuff for the Terrano. LOL @ a polymer "bull bar"...
  5. It looked like snow to me... ...Or perhaps a dead animal?
  6. My 10-gauge BP front skit has faired quite nicely so far but it's quite heavy (installing it was a workout to say the least). In my experience with the VG33E's oil filter location, it's a fail. No matter where you put a hole in the skid, it's a b*tch to get at the oil filter. I'd say it might be best to just remove the ski plate when doing an oil change or just invest in a filter relo kit. I know, I keep mentioning it, but it's a win-win!
  7. I'd probably go IPF of PIAA. Heard good things about both.
  8. No, you expressed yourself properly. I'm just concerned with the issues that come with having a 6x6" hole in an aluminum skid plate. The pics you posted look pretty damn good to me though.
  9. Bone-stock set-up, that's a problem... With a subframe drop and 2" coils I bet 39's would fit without a problem. Even with a SFD/coil lift, I'd be happy with 35's at the largest. Hell, even 33's would be fine as long as they were some 10" tread width MT's.
  10. Wouldn't that really compromise the durability of the skid plate?
  11. I explored this option for my R50 with the VG33E, and estimated around $1200 worth of parts and a lot of time. I more or less just jumped at the idea without actually researching anything; upon doing so, I realized how challenging it could be. In the end, I would rather just drop in the whole VG33ER (at a cost of about $3K was the cheapest I found) right out of an Xterra to make things easier. IMO, it wasn't worth the money for the slight increase in output... But that isn't to say it shouldn't be done. If I can find a whole VG33ER for under $2K I would definitely reconsider. In any event, best of luck to you with your mod! Keep us posted on your progress!
  12. I'll shoot some pics when I do the relo kit this Friday. I gotta take the skid plate off anyway and I'll be snapping photos as I do the relo kit install.
  13. Yup, it's moreso on the LH side of the engine bay. My advice for any VG-powered R50 owners: go for a relo kit for the oil filter. That way the skid plate doesn't need to come off.
  14. Dude, I'm debating spacers or just waiting until the SFD kit gets here...
  15. I considered this for my '98 with the VG33E, and when I e-mailed the place selling the VG30DETT, I was told not to even bother... It'd be way too much work. But I'd say research as much as you can before you decide. With enough time and money, anything is possible.
  16. If you install the spacer up front your rig will sit level. Otherwise it'll have the raked, tow-truck look... Like mine: Spacers would be a nice way to even out the ride.
  17. Like what Fueler has? I'm thinking those are a solid option.
  18. You're in Winnipeg?!?! Uh, how about we meet up?
  19. With the introduction of the VQ35-powered R50 for model year 2001, the cosmetic changes from 99.5 remained the same but the interior did receive some changes. The dash is slightly different, the vents are differently shaped and gauge cluster was also upgraded due to the VQ switch. The most obvious differences between the early model and late model R50's are the fascia changes and the engine change. For the most part, I'd say the majority of the parts are interchangeable. Nevertheless, I'd stick with that Pezzy said and just stick to your model type only. That will more or less ensure each and every part can be swapped out without complication.
  20. You should check out the Bilsten 7100's then.
