I'm running 16x8 steelies with a 4.75" backspacing, and my tires (265/75) miss the strut tower by perhaps half an inch, maybe less. It does give the stance a very OEM look in terms of the tires being pretty much flush with the fender flares. However, I'd probably go with less backspacing to give my rig a wider stance. My next set of wheels are going to be 15x10 with 3.25" BS but only because Toyo doesn't make 33x12.5's M/T tires in a 16" rim option. For what it's worth, the difference between 15's and 16's is pretty negligible. Luckily, the first gen R50's can fit 15's without trouble.

There are few decent items; I didn't see that rear ladder on the site, though. And yes, there's very little aftermarket exposure for the Terrano/Pathfinder. It's a shame. A damn shame.

What up my Pathfinder Posse?! Doing a fluid flush this weekend, wondering what's good for the diffs, AT and transfer case. Mostly just threading this to see what other people have used and why. Was looking at Eneos stuff online but I doubt having ATF fluid shipped here would be feasible...

I'd have to agree with Steve (fleurys) here. I bought a R50 because it's got a sweet IFS set up front. It handles wonderfully on the pavement and can handle a solid amount of off-road terrain. Just ask guys like Dan (vengeful) and Dean (XPLORX4); they've done some phenomenal things with the R50. SAS is great, don't get me wrong; a lot of work and modification is required to get it done right, though. So far I've only seen two SAS projects. Luckily, they're both members on here! Hopefully they'll chime in and give you some advice.

SAS or not, a 4-6" lift is going to require all custom fabricated parts. Search sub-frame drop and you should be able to find some useful information.

For sure. The CV axles from AC are pretty hearty but with anything more than 2-3" of suspension lift they'd be victim to breakage and torn boots... But they are beefier than OEM! AC on the left vs. OEM on the right. Some long travel struts would be the sh*t IMO.

Note: 1 day, 19 hours of driving. Make that at least 4 days if you plan on eating and sleeping.

I'd be inclined but shipping would kill me. How about selling blueprints?
