  2. onother somewhat cheap is um.... Peel and Seal. It's roofing material and asphalt/tar based. that's what I used in my tin can Honda! LOL. it's not so tin can anymore
  3. screw all of yall! I'd have a TD Nissan Patrol shipped over here to the states! MMM. TD + SFA = Maximus pawnage But I guess a 4runner will suit you best....
  4. I can't see how your tranny would cause sputtering and knocking. Do you have any problems driving it around?
  5. Once you remove the pulley off, spray some WD-40 or similar product on the lip. Tap around on the Harmonic balancer to work the lubricant in. put the pulley back on with 2 bolts and wiggle it around to help with lube penetration. In a bit you should be able to pull the balancer off. That's what I did. Other method is to get a gear puller.
  6. Well I taped them together and gave it whirl... IT IS for the power windows/locks. They work now! Now, I just gotta find another fusible link doohickey.
  7. It's connected to the main wire harness. It's about a foot or so back from the fusible links that connect to the positive lead on the battery. I'll get a better picture up in a bit.
  8. LOL. anyhow, anyone know what this once plugged? possible once a fusible link? The flash on the camera kinda distorted it.
  9. It has trouble starting now. I have to keep cranking until it starts. Could it be because of the fuel? It's been sitting since November.
  10. Everything is good from what I can tell. I just gotta check my fusible links to see of they're still any good since I lost power to my locks and windows and other small stuff.
  11. Well I've messed with it enough to where I know how it's gonna point when putting it back in... hehehe it only takes at least two tries to get it pointed right
  12. SHE'S ALIVE!!! SHE'S ALIVE!!!! *muahahahahaha!
  13. the cruise control isn't hooked up... can't see how that has any effect on the knocking... but what the hell will try and see... trying anything to get her running...
  14. so if i was off a tooth on the dizzy, that would cause the knocking sound? Is it really necessary to do the screwdriver method to find tdc since everything else lines up??? this is driving me crazy man :furious:
  15. Checking the timing belt. it's all good--timing marks and everything...
  16. well I reseted the dizzy back to the way I had it before and she started but I still have that horrible knocking and then the engine cuts off. I guess I'll have to check my timing belt.
  17. John pointed it out in another thread that the crank rotates two times for one full turn of the dizzy. I popped the dizzy out and rotated the crank one full turn and set the dizzy back to number one. She turned over but didn't start. I'm going to reset it the way it was and try it again. Also, It's possible for some odd reason that the timing belt could have slipped a tooth or two so I'm going to investigate that later today.
  18. did he bleed all the air out of the system? also, might want to check on the radiator cap. The radiator cap is used to pressurized the cooling system to raise the boiling point of the coolant. Might also see if the fan is working too.
  19. I got around and got the main parts of my Pathfinder put together. I got her to fire up and run on her own for a bit until i started hearing a clunking and knocking sound from the engine bay area. That's when I turned her off and called it quits. She was running poorly as well and I was wondering what it could be. She hasn't been started since November back when I got into my wreck. There was a lot of smoke and fumes from the unburned fuel and the engine burning off the spilled oil. I did remove the distributor when I removed the upper intake plenum. I did put her back to TDC and aligned the rotor on the dizzy to where #1 firing position. This is TDC, correct?
  20. Does anyone know the part numbers to these hoses that are cut?
  21. Can someone snap some shots of the engine bay. I need to know the placements of wires and what not
