  1. Your wish is granted... http://www.up22.com/Nissan.htm
  2. I missed this thread the first time around. I'm glad it came up again. Awesome build. I especially loved the part where guys were talking @!*%, then you did it and they didn't have anything else to say. Freaking forums. You'd think folks would learn to STFU with the useless negativity and try to offer actual insight. Way to prove'm wrong. Bad-ass truck.
  3. The easiest way to get to it is to take the plenum off.
  4. This leads me to another thought... Whats the plan for when these new "pathfinder" owners start showing up on the forums looking for advice? I'm all for trying to talk someone into lifting that Outback clone 12 inches and adding a snorkel, but has their been any serious discussion here?
  5. Its disgusting, but if you check your chassis codes, the X-Terra took over for the Pathfinder a long time ago. I'm really surprised Nissan is still branding cars under this name.
  6. Wow, these Pacesetters suck! Quality be damned.

      Yaaaa. That's wishful thinking.

      Try $200 new.

They were beat to hell right out of the box!

Good for you. Welcome to the NISSAN PATHFINDER off-road association.

  7. Everything about this thread makes me physically ill. Its like watching a news story about advanced Alzheimer's immediately after grandpa has called you Billy for the 5th time in a row. I know its inevitable, but i don't wanna see my truck go out like this. I really need to find a Mexican frame...
  8. Don't let this detour you. If you genuinely want to do something different and are willing to take on the project, I'll happily cheer you on. You're headed in the right direction as far as seeking information before starting, but you have a lot more homework to do.
  9. The FSM mentions D3 and D4, but if you can find an actual gear in there, you're a better man than I. I pretty sure automatic transmissions are assembled and operated using black magic. I'm willing to bet that if you take it apart, you'll only find a red candle floating in the center with a wick on either end... The length of the wick determines how much longer your tranny will work.
  10. If it comes out of an R50, I wouldn't think there would be much issue with mounting the motor. It should have the same mounts as a VG. The tranny might be a trick. Do you know exactly which model it is? Is it full-time AWD or select 4WD? I don't think all wheel drive would be too practical in this situation. Then, if it doesn't match the WD21's transmissions, you'll have to worry about drive lines... Custom-built may be necessary. You'd be much better off if this motor would bolt-up to your existing gearbox. Of course, even if the drive train swaps over, you still have to work out the wiring (an included engine harness probably won't be directly compatible with the chassis) and difference in fuel systems. Having the donor vehicle on hand would help, All-in-all, it sounds like a nightmare. A time-consuming, cash-guzzling, ulcer-inducing nightmare. It ought to be a blast! Do yourself a favor and find the FSM for the R50 or E50 that the motor comes from and start comparing it to the WD21.
  11. Yep. That's how mine started. "OD" was goofing when I bought it. 2 weeks later I lost 3rd completely. I proceeded to drive the truck daily on 2 gears for the next 4.5 years before it finally gave out (a few weeks ago). Fun fact: 3500 RPM in 2nd gear equates to about 60 MPH on a level road. Push it past that and you'll never pass a gas station.
  12. Hell, I don't blame you. Thanks for the measurements. Those are NOT 2.5" collectors as we were lead to believe. Kinda makes a monkey of the 2.5" Thrush muffler I'd planed on using. Curses! Foiled again. I guess I'll have to use a set of disposable Pace Makers until something better comes along.
  13. That'd be great! Tho, shame on you for sitting on them for 3 years. I still can't find a set. OBX is notorious for bad customer care, so I doubt I'm gonna hear back from them about whether or not they're still in production (I've sent 3 emails). HEY! If you decide you're not gonna use yours, I know a guy who's truck is stuck in the garage and willing to pay a bit above retail to get his hands on some in a hurry.
  14. Thats good to hear. I'm having trouble finding a set now. I ordered from Racing-Parts Depot, but received a refund two days later with no reason mentioned. No one answered when I called them about it. I just talked to a salesman at ERZ Performance who says the part is back-ordered indefinitely. He recommends I try back next month.... Can anyone suggest a retailer?
  15. I just installed this one in pretty-much the same fashion (not my pic). Fluidyne CR-10029-MC-BRB. It's big, but it fits well in front of the A/C condenser. I got it for around $50 (shipped) on eBay.
  16. I'm more concerned about what's going on behind the obviously missing headlight and marker, dude. That's looks pretty rough... and I say that with this in mind:
  17. Look closer... I've got to complement you on getting it as far as you have. I'll try to remember where I found those 240sx articles. I'm digging the smoked tails too.
  18. I'm from CA originally. I miss it, but I'm not coming back. I wonder what the emissions regs are like in TX... Anyhow, I suppose I'm gonna get these headers and just have a new exhaust built around them. Who needs a vacation savings, right? For those who've had them for a while, how are they holding up? Obviously the SS is going to blue, but have you had any corrosion issues? Also, does anyone have any experience with Thrush mufflers?
  19. Is it wrong that after all that @!*% they put it through, I didn't really feel sick about the situation until they crushed it? Still, I'm glad to have a demonstration of the truck's limits. gv280z, I don't think there were any problems with the rear end. It looks like the back half of the chassis gave out. Watch the slow-mo at 4:20. It looks like he's dragging the fuel tank and whats left of the frame... God knows where the springs went. So, zombie apocalypse... We're good.
  20. I feel for you. That's the nice thing about living in Kentucky; We have these things called "trees" that we use for filtering smog.
  21. Screw the Pathfinders; I wanna know what the odometer reads on this thread! Das an ol' somebish!!
  22. Wow! I'd love to build something like that for the garage. The rounded braces at the top are a nice touch. How much do you think you spent on metal here? I'm trying to appreciate your work, but all I see is price tags on all the components.
  23. About $325 more expensive than OBX and not as flawless as one would expect, according to what I've read here. Did we ever get a confirmation on the collector diameter on these?
  24. Pointless. This question is like asking "Do you prefer white or brown?".... Its all gravy to me. These trucks are as common as fleas on a dog. If yours is missing a feature, find it and install it. The only factory option that I miss on mine is the rear diffuser. I hate using that damned wiper all the time. I'll get one when I replace the lift gate... someday.
