  1. it kind of depends on how worn it is.. i wheeled with mine for about a year.. maybe more.. it wasn't that worn... it took me that long to figure out it was the CL.. with mudders, i was getting bad shakes and the tires started to wear funky..
  2. it will wear your tires fast besides bj, etc.. = $$ in the long run.
  3. 1. 96 and on i think, all Xs 2. i think you get a little better compression but don't quote me on that. (you'd probably need a new ecu too) not sure about the room. 3. shouldn't on labor 4. search? 5. i think the HP gain is pretty minimal... the biggest jumo seems to be with a supercharger.. read eaxpensive though since you have to run on high octane.
  4. yes, unplugging the 02 sensor may make your truck run like crap too.
  5. sounds nice but there is steel and grout in the buildings along with a "perfect" footing and load. DON'T USE THEM! truck may shift even just a little and that's all it takes. mws, nothing personal but i don't want to hear of a mws pancake on the news...ok? i think you're playing russian roulette here..
  6. O2, MAP, crank position... one of those is unplugged (loose) or is gone south.
  7. you should be able to pick up similar problems/solutions and definitions when you use those as key words in search function of this forum.. look around. lot's and lot's of info here.. garage is a good place to start. it could be any of the things specified above.. here are my 2c: fuel filter, o2 sensor. definitely try for the codes.. probably the best place to start if anything is wrong with the truck.
  8. oh, same kind of thing here as the cv.. if you can "pop" it then it's bad.. they maybe loose (limp) in the socket but if they don't move the other way they are good. boots are pretty close to impossible to replace (find them) so if they are thorn they are gone.. i surely don't recall paying that much a year or two ago for the uppers.. yeah the lowers were a bit more but 40+ still seems not the same.. off subject: try $60 for an air filter.. now that one sucks.. i just shake the old one out.
  9. oops missed that part. i thought it was only 2 since that's all that was pictured. try zone or advanced or pepboys.. less then $20 ea and at the first two you don't need to keep a receipt to have the warranty.
  10. ahhh, that's one of the things that makes this forum so special. GG
  11. lol. you can get a hooker for a 20 around here too... if you have the stuff apart, it's easy. top easier then the bottom if stuff is still on the truck.
  12. dude, you can get those at autozone or advanced for less. $18-20 ea. as i recall. and no shipping.
  13. if the arm is damaged then yes, otherwise i surely don't see the point? how is the engine affixed to the body? you guys have a sub frame? there maybe some bushings there too, if that's the case..
  14. NAME CALLING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!! i heavily edited some posts because of that.. got the idea? now, quit it and play nice. think FAMILY FRIENDLY! at all times. thanks P.S. neither will i tolerate any baiting. all those with my edits, consider yourselves warned! i don't want to pursue any further actions (read-more drastic) in this matter.
  15. Ford ranger is a decent truck.. i have had many Fords over the years and over all i'd have to give them a
  16. lol.. now, there is the "out of the box" thinking..
  17. you -alcohol- hon? 2k isn't really that much. was the noise documented by the shop at any point? if yes, you should be ok...
  18. lol.. that's classic.. got another battery that you know is good?
  19. if you're not much over i'd still go back to the shop. if they are reputable they should fix it anyway.
  20. yeah or bad ground or the leads are old and rotter.
  21. yeah you're right, the truck looks horrible..
  22. yeah, but you may want to do a tune-up asap.. you may gain a couple miles.
  23. the OR X is da shizit.. good choice.. tough truck.
