  1. it must not be monitoring other thing either.. bad o2 seems to affect the truck differently then you described.. get a new o2 and see if that does help.. your mpgs may drop if you run without the o2 sensor functioning..
  2. you ought to use the search function the next time. this topic has been beaten to a pulp over and over and over.... here is the best/most complete thread of them all: shifting on the fly!
  3. you see that grimgreg???!!! one for each truck..
  4. flush. you really want to change the fluid in the Trq converter too. i can't remember if there is a dump valve on these trucks or not though.. otherwise it's a pita.. not sure if the flush at the dealer or lube place includes this or not.. the trannys' dieing is kind of a myth... it only happens if the change done improperly.. mostly lack of fluid at start up..
  5. yes, expound please. besides the nissan, pathfinder xe, 1994 (5sp,) i also own other brands of vehicles. thanks
  6. lol. dsmguy is on duty on this one..
  7. don't forget the Titan.. they are huge but cool... i'd recommend older vehicles for wheeling.. cheap, and you don't worry about banging them up..
  8. picture 1 is idler arm, picture 2 is pitman arm.. the center link is what's busted in picture 2. this is a pretty common weak link on pathy's steering.. causes wobble and feathering of the tires.... look around the forums and you'll find much discussion on this subject. even a recent thread.. must as well beef it up if you ever think of wheeling your rig.
  9. in the dark: lift the hood, start the truck, if you see a lightshow then the wires (or wherever the light comes from) is your problem.. could be crossed or cracked wires... could be the gap or the wrong spark plug, dirty dizzy cap will do it too.. vac line loose.. there could be a million things making it stumble.
  10. if you feel like trading it in do it.. the fluid needs to be changed, that's for sure.. i'd suspect a control device (if any) over the converter itself.. never really heard of one going out.. those things are good to go for a long time.
  11. so tru!! personally, i like the stock switches. they are just lit enough and they match everything.. orange and red are the best since they don't really effect your "night vision"
  12. ^^^ yup, make sure an exetrnal tranny cooler is added.
  13. piano or guitar wire, which is ribbed, cuts the seal better then smooth wire..
  14. Z, you may want to just inspect all of your bushings and make a list of the ones that need replacement, if any.. kind of hard to guess what you may need.
  15. yeah, check yout PS fluid for sure... otherwise i can't think of anything else.
  16. external cooly mod done yet? quickly look into it if not.
  17. run ECU codes (sticky in the garage.) it maybe the crank position sensor.. look in the lower posts of the link above.
  18. get some piano wire.. makes removal a snap.. be careful though. i payed a pro less then $50 to put one it.. they have the right seals/adhesives to do this.. to me it wasn't worth the effort and hassle so i hired them.
  19. that's the best tool for a starter which is going out.
  20. lol. ^^^^^ no, get the ones i got man.. they are the coolest.. hahahaha
  21. well, this kind of makes me think that maybe you're loosing pressure in the lines.. (flow back) so, next time you park it like that before you even try to fire it back up, check for pressure at the rail. there should be a schreader valve there which you just depress and if you get a spray of gas then that's not it.. then try to start it... check spark etc.. that's the only thing i can think of related to levelness of the truck.. not sure why the pump wouldn't just re-pressurise it when you click the key though.
