NISSAN LONG TRAVEL KIT/NISSAN LIFT
jitterymonkey replied to BonnerBB's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
That thing is wicked! I'd love to have a Pathfinder or Hardbody Prerunner. -
Try holding the key over in the start position for 5-10 seconds. Those symptoms have happened to my 95(withut remote start) on occasion. Do a search on here & NOR.... Weird common problem.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NISSAN-DIES...d#ht_2917wt_920 Well out of my price range. ($2,850.00) but I'm curious as to what it would take to make it work in a 95 Pathfinder. The ad states..... 87-94 (if it'll work for a 94,why not a 95?) & in big, blue letters........ "MODIFICATION ARE NEEDED TO MAKE IT WORK"

Rear Spring Options For Lifting Your WD21 Pathy
jitterymonkey replied to 88pathoffroad's topic in How-To's
With the 4 door I'd bend the pig tail out rather than cut it. -
The rust is starting to eat away at the right front body mount on my 95 . + the bumper was pushed back on the right side at some point & now the bolt is nowhere near the hole in the body. Gotta get that rotted body mount fixed before it gets any worse. What do Ya think.... enlarge the hole till I can get a socket on the bolt or try & pull the bumper back out with a chain & a big tree? I think either way I'll be compromising the already weak body mount metal.

Old Man Emu Shock (OME) - Opinions?
jitterymonkey replied to BonnerBB's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I think the reason many people in the U.S.A. don't use OME shocks/springs on WD-21's is because OME only offers .75"s of lift. (Talked with Glen at Rocky Road Outfitters & he says it's more like 1.75 on a 2door with no rear carrier. ) But most guys/gals (who live where it's not illegal) want 3+3 to run 33's. -
Tie rod ends... What the hell does Calmini use?
jitterymonkey replied to jitterymonkey's topic in The Garage
Yep,told me the same thing. $250.00 That was after the core charge, right? I'm taking my idler arm to a local machine shop 1st. See if maybe brass/bronze King pin bushing or some other type would work. If I can't find a better/cheaper solution, I'll do the spherical bearing install. -
Duh, I'm such a MORON! Went right together after I installed 'em. Thanks Headpeace!

No, Should I?

Removed drivers side to install rear springs. Now it won't line back up with the bolt to reinstall. did a search but couldn't find anything. Gonna rain soon HELP!

Although I own one. I don't think a Pathfinder is the "best" survival vehicle. Probably a much better one would be a jeep,Ford or Chevy so spare parts were easier to scavenge. But like unccpathfinders friend storing bullets for guns he doesn't own. (good idea also think bows/crossbows) Any vehicle that's drivable & not stuck in a traffic jam will be very valuable indeed. Plan on fighting to keep it frequently. Quads, dirt bikes & especially bicycles/snow shoes (no gas? No problem!) might be able to get you out of certain areas faster than a truck.
-
Haven't done mine yet. But I'm going to (hopefully) use a 2 armed puller from Harbor Freight & if that won't work? A little heat. Afraid of damaging the steering gear box seals though. What have you tried?
-
Smell gas? Might be a rotted fuel line. Had to replace quite a bit of mine when the frame was being fixed. Kind of a pain in the ass.Probably easer if Ya got a body lift. Helped my MPG though

Change & spare key. Ashtray is probably the worst place to "hide" stuff. you guys/gals remember this topic? http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...1&hl=secret

Tie rod ends... What the hell does Calmini use?
jitterymonkey replied to jitterymonkey's topic in The Garage
Just for future reference..... http://nissan4wheelers.com/eve/forums/a/tp...3/m/34410339241 By the way Calmini just left a message on my phone. Finally got a new idler arm in stock if I want it. Going to see if they've changed/fixed the bearing design. -
Tie rod ends... What the hell does Calmini use?
jitterymonkey replied to jitterymonkey's topic in The Garage
You gotta be kidding me! Know which one? -
My 95 WD-21's tie rod adjusters have female ends. So both the tie rod ends are male. calmini's adjusters have 1 male end & 1 female end. http://www.purenissan.com/hd_tie_rod_adjusters1.htm So their tie rod ends are 1 male & 1 female. http://www.purenissan.com/tie_rod_ends1.htm Of course I need the tie rod end that's female. (not even sure if the male end is a stock piece) An R50's outer tie rod ends LOOK like the one I need but I don't think they're left hand threads. http://www.racepages.com/products/?Ntt=Nis...mp;N=4294965060 Anyone know if Calmini uses 1 WD-21 tie rod end & 1 R50 tie rod end? Would be nice to be able to just buy locally.

Advantages/Disadvantages going from 31's to 33's off-road
jitterymonkey replied to jitterymonkey's topic in General Forums
Glad Ya chimed in Slick. No need to defend King.( he's one of my favorites in the forum) I know a 3+3 Pathfinder on 33s with the stock 4.6 gear ratio has to get less MPG & not be as peppy on the street as a Pathfinder at stock hight or small lift rolling on 31s. What I'm really curious about is if running 33s with the stock gearing actually hurts a WD-21's OFF-ROAD performance more than it helps in certain situations like mud and climbing & what I mainly have around here..... off camber muddy climbing king's has an auto tranny & is rolling on 33's. Mini's on 31's & has a manual tranny,Right? Gear ratios the same? 4.3? 4.6? You have to use the skinny pedal a lot more with King off-road? -
Small but cool picture of a 2 door hitting the dirt. http://www.coopertire.com/Flash/index.aspx
