see what i'm planning on doing is getting new heads instead of trying to extract to studs broken into the block. about a year ago my uncle and i tried to extract the bolts but really couldn't because of the engine compartment being so dang small. i don't know what the heck we did but when i left my uncle's house, that thing ran real good until three days later, that thing start to leak again. i'm pretty sure the holes(forgot the proper word for it) in the block are pretty messed up as it is. i'm just going to slap on some new head and headers. and see what happens from there. right now, i have two options, new heads w/ headers or locker. i'm picking heads w/ headers so later when i get the locker i can enjoy it with the loudness and power of a refreshed engine.
  2. hey man, i'll be getting new heads and for the new heads, i'll be getting new headers, i'm going to make it dual, i don't know how big or how small. i wanna run em striaght pipe w/ flowmasters.

i think you should work on the powerplant first. get the engine running at it's best. and then get the lift w/ big/nice tires. well, for me as an example, i got it lifted w/ 33s, lifted, yeah, but haven't done anything to the engine, my manifolds are wroped like krazy and the studs all broken in there. going to cost me alot of money to repair it, i'm probably going to have to get new heads. not bragging or anything, but, my truck is nice looking, but sound like crap and performance isn't there, i wish i should of worked on the engine first. now, i'm holding on to the 3inch body lift and lockers. without a good engine i can't enjoy the lockers and the lift. so think about it.
  4. 2.37 a gallon here in van nuys, california. (los angeles area)
  5. yeah, you can fit 33x12.50 on a 15x7 wheels, no problems, the only thing is that the tire kind of bubbles out alittle, but no biggie i was told and no biggie has happened, no problems for me. i was also told that it's kinda better because it has better protection to the rim.
  6. i was told that after messing w/ you torsion bars it's a good idea to get the tires realigned. i know that if it's like a few turns of the bolt it won't do much, but before i got my lift. i had my torsion bars totally maxed out, and the tires were screwed up after about two months. i have a 3inch suspension lift and i got to fit 33x12.50x15 on 15x7 wheels. i rubbed before, now my fenders are all bent and fixed (it's what i called it) it doesn't rub anymore while turing and even fourwheelin, (in my case it's 2wheelin) it only rubs when i'm flexing like crazy.
  7. anyone know where i can get new heads for real cheap. wanted to get headers but mechanic shop wanted $75 a bolt to extract because of the bolts braking in there. it might be cheaper to get new heads. thanx.
  8. i'm looking for a body lift, here says for 86-90 2wd or 4wd, and will not fit automatic. i'm 91, 4x2, auto, will it fit? bodylift kit
  9. one way to check is to jack up the rear and spin the tires. if the tires spin in the same direction you have limited slip, if they spin opposite, it's not limited slip.
  10. hey man, congrads w/ the headers and happy bday, mine is on the 30th, and i'll be 20. bet ur going to have fun with your headers, i was getting a pair for mine but some a$$holes decide to break into my truck. anyway, i went to get an estimate for my installation for the headers, the guy basically said i need new heads so, we'll see what happens,
  11. i saw these headers on ebay: pace setter headers are these headers any good? if i get them will i have a problem installing them because of the bolts to the manifolds being busted? i know that i have few of the bolts broken into the block and a few years ago we tried to take the bolts out of the block but couldn't acutally take the bolts out, would this be a problem? :help: or do i just take the headers into a shop and tell them that the bolts are broken into the block and they'll do the rest?
  12. have you guys heard of "true flow"? well i'm going to get the drop in air filter for my path and maybe it'll bring a little more power. true flow is supposibably (sp) better than K & N. has anyone tried true flow, i know alot have tried k and n.
  13. what's JWT popcharger? i like the sound of that
  14. the grabbers are pretty good, there real good in the mud, the traction is very good, i was trying to dig my self in a mud hole but couldn't, i couldn't even spin my tires in the mud. cleans itself really good. if you get anything bigger than 31's, get a stableizer, that's a must or you'll get nasty tread wear.the tires that were in the front when i didn't ahve a stablizer, i have about 75% tread left, my rear tires i have 95% tread left, i did a rotation about three months ago when i added the stablizer, i still have 95% tread left when i moved the rear tires to the front with that stablizer.
  15. i just changed the air filter and "knock on wood" its running alot better, it hasn't bogged or anything yet. and i did drive a quite a way today. i also took it through some mud so, again, it's fine now. i was worried that it might of been a cracked block or blown gasket, but if it doesn't do it anymore, i think that's out of the list. my cousin just got his head gaskets replaced when he blew them up on his 4runner. i have a questions, anyone know where i can get a k&n intake for the path? is it a good idea to or leave it stock? i don't seem to find them anywhere, if not i'll just stick to the k&n air filter.
  16. yeah, when i accelrate normal, it's fine, but when i punch it the rpm goes up and than back down, like i'm tuggin on something.also, while driving, it would lag like someone is pulling on me while i'm driving. and today on my way to work, at a light, my rpm was down to 250, when i give it gas it would sputter and then pick up, at work, i'd let it idle, it stayed at 250rpm and that thing sounded like a desiel with blue smoke comming out of the exhuast. my buddy at work looked at it, he took off the air intake and let it run like that it was idleing fine, he'd put his hand in the intake and it started idling real low again. when i connected my intake and let it ilde for about 5 mins it was start choking and start idling low w/ blue smoke from the exhust, i'd take the intake off and it'd idle fine. so i'm just going to change the air filter and see what happens. looks like it has to do w/ my intake mass flow.
  17. done that, i've changed my fuel filter, as well as the o2, and yeah i did run the ecu and nothing came up, could it be possible that i could have dirt in my gas tank since i stick think in mud or no possible way for it to get in? but can it be my fuel injectors?
  18. hey guys, i don't know if anyone has this problem or had it but when i'm fully stopped and i punch it, my truck boggs like krazy, the rpm goes up and then back down. i've changed my throttle body sensor, intake box, i've got a tune up down but same crap. now, i've heard that it has to do w/ my fuel, it's getting cut off somewhere, could it be my injectors? my path is a 91 w/ 146000miles and the injectors never been changed. i've used injector cleaner but it doens't help. or could if be the fuel pump. any ideas? :help:
  19. take it back to the dealer if you can, it's still a brand new truck.
  20. wonderful...i'll ordered now! hahahahahahahaha thanks alot man.
  21. so confirming that the locker that i posted up for h233b with 31 splin will work on mine? our pathfinders have 31 splin? please let me know so i can buy it asap
  22. i was talking to this guy at work, i was telling him that i was going to get lockers for my path. i wanna get the lock-rite locker. he asked me if my path was LSD i said no it's not, he said that it might be better if i get Limited Slip than a locker. what would work better on climbing hills or better yet for offroading? i was so going to order the locker today. :furious: another thing, i found this locker, would this work? it says it's for h233b 31splin, what's 31 splin, please say it will work. here's a link: lock-rite locker h233b 31 splin
  23. super swamper boggers the way to go man! just messing around, get something that you can afford, if you wanna spend money and keep spending money, get super swamper tsl's or ssr, even boggers, if not, get bfg's, the new toyo's are pretty good, goodyear mtr's are sick, i'm getting those next. general grabber m/t are good, i'm running those now, can't complain, get something that your going to use, not just for looks, and something good in price to so u can put more things into your pathy.
  24. mine comes from my steering stablizer bracket, the one that's bolted on to the frame i think. when i had my friend look at it he said that the bracket is moving and bending. i took a look and it did make a little since, i'm going to beef that thing up. by the way, do you have a steering stablizer on yours? stock or u added? i'm pretty i know what your talking about i have the popping noises when i turn. but other than that, i really i don't care. i beat that truck up so it should be making nosies. another thing, does the popping noise come when the trucks just sitting and you steer the wheel left to right, right to left?
  25. hey jrvanas, what kinda of popping noises do you have in the front end? i have popping comming from mine too. when i about to stop or turn, i have popping noises comming. i think mine is comming from the steering stablizeri don't know, but yeah, thought i'd share that.
