  1. hey 88, instead of you rebuilding the axle, why don't you clean everything out and do a solid axle swap. i'm sure you're capable of doing it. i'm sure it'll be much cheaper to rebuild it anyway. a buddy of mine was telling how now alot of people are saying that IFS are more popular than solid axles. i would disagree on that. good thing i don't have 4wheel drive. don't have to worry about bustin up cv axles.
  2. nice pictures man, awesome scenery and good looking rig. i wish we had trails like that here in so cal. we probably do, but unaware of it. can't wait till i go for wheeling.
  3. hey man, are those Pathfinder wheels on the trailer? that's funny. hey man, if these guys here say it's ugly, it's not. that thing is pretty cool, that thing is going to look insane after it's fixed up. keep up with the posts and i wanna see how it turns out.
  4. my experince with my dad was just the opposite. when i told him that i wanted to lift my path, rig it up, he would get pissed. when i was going to lift it, he had no idea. when he came home from work and saw the 33inch tires, lift, he got pissed. all i said was, "i watered it too much, it grew". i said that because i would always wash the path. the only thing that i can do to my path now is make it 4wd, i have a locker, lift, everything that i need. i told him that i wanted to either drop my titan or lift it. but first i want to put an exhaust on it. i couldn't believe my ears what he said in response. he said " don't waste your money on the titan. it's brand new, don't mess it up. save your money and fix the engine on the path, rebuilt it or put a new one, would the 3.3 liter fit?" i was like dad you feeling ok? so when i start the police academy hopefully this summer, i'll save the money from the academy and put a new engine with a 4wd tranny and make it 4x4. so other than that, i love both my babies. but i love the path more.
  5. i haven't driven my path for almost 3 weeks now since i got my 2005 titan. sure the titan is great, powerful, smooth, awesome. but you know what, not as bad as$$ as my mudfinder. i drove it to school today and god i missed the rattling of the doors, the bogging and hesitation, the viberation. my Pathfinder is still my favorite. matter in fact, i'm taking her wheeling this weekend. my parents were trying to convence me to sell the Pathfinder. i told them yeah whatever. my friends and family know how much i love my path so they asked me, "if you had a choice, either keep the titan or Pathfinder, which one would you keep?" my answer was Pathfinder. i could always buy a brand new titan, but can't but buy mudfinder. too much time and quality and money.
  6. are you asking how many spline? 31. is that what your asking?
  7. harbinger, my dad's truck is exactly the same execpt his is the 5.9liter gas. black, extra cab long bed. his is a 96. same thing.
  8. hey guys, i finally got my truck. 2005 Nissan titan CC se 5.6l. i love it, i don't want to go away from it. i got it with the rockford folsgate system and boy it kick a$$. but i don't love it as much as i love my mudfinder. here are couple of pics i took, yeah yeah, i know that hot pink dealer plate has to go.
  9. what a hoo-haa, you sure fooled him. blinker fluid. i heard of that. i was listening to this prank how this mechanic was basically doing the same thing you did. but only ripping her off. he said that she needed halogen headlight fluid and that she needed a transmission and some other stupid things. i'll find the link and i'll post it up.
  10. when i punch it off the line, it barely moves. the rpm goes up and down, up and down. i said tranny because when climbing the hill it left more a drive train issue rather than the engine. how would i burp it? how would i get the bubble out?
  11. i've changed everything, i mean everything. from fuel to air. i had two mechanics test my injectors and the injectors are working good. i'm just worried it's my tranny. i want to fix my manifolds before i do anything major. btw, i had a 1/2 tank of fuel. when ever my check engine light comes on, it always give me code 13(engine coolent temp. sensor). and gave me 45(injector leak) once. like said eariler, i had it presure tested for leaks, and their working fine.
  12. i'd so something about it. i know the o2 sensor won't get a correct reading if it was leaking. snice it doesn't leak and runs fine, you should be fine. retread it when you get a chance. doesn't seem like a big deal if it doesn't leak.
  13. today at school, i was messing around on big dirt and asphalt piles. at crawling speed, almost to the top, my path started knocking and spuddering. first time it did that, any ideas what could cause that?
  14. i just changed my waterpump last weekend, and boy it was hell. your ripping the engine apart. the hardeest part i think was putting the timing belt back on. before i changed my water pump, i had this weining noise everytime i would accelerate and of course it leaked like krazy. after changing it, it doesn't leak, water temp is normal but i still have that noise. but anyway, yeah, too many bolts and things to take apart to get to the waterpump. :furious:
  15. i picked 4x2 because i'm not going to need it, i'm not going to 4wheel with that period. that's what the path is for. plus, 2wd is $3000, and i'm saving alot of money on the insurance. i'll put that money into the path. now i'll push the path way past it's limit. like i said earlier, i'm going to pick that beast up monday. it so better not be an XE i'll go insane!!! first thing i'll do is take a pic and post it up. when i test drove the titan this last time. boy that thing had balls. more than the hemi! Nissan is the sh!t!!
  16. hey guys, i have good news!!! i'm staying loyal to Nissan, i just made a deal this afternoon on a titan 4x2 se crew-cab, silver. it's going to arrive monday. i hope it's the one i want. i know it has the center console with the floor shifter, and most important the big tow package. i'm hoping it has the in dash six cd changer. other than that, it has everything i want. as far as the path goes. my folks are trying to convince me to sale it, but i'm refusing. i'm so excited, can't wait till monday!!
  17. u know i already asked them that, the dodge dealer said, hemi? or endurance? he kept repeating himself. and the Nissan dealer said, "dodge is a nice truck, but the rear back cab(crewcab) is bigger than the dodge", which i strongly agree. i'll just get them both so i don't end up saying "i should of bought the dodge, or i should bought the Nissan" we'll see gives me a better deal. the power wagon is nice, i don't need another offroad rig, i already have the path. and plus it's 45,000+. i want IFS in the front for better handling. oh yeah, wasn't the titan 4x4 of the year in some 4wheel mag? i know the power wagon was 4x4 of the year recently. they're both striaght out nice rigs. that's why it's tuff.
  18. hey hardware, what's your problem man, i just wanted people's opinion. i have more education than you'll ever have. you must of recieve an "a" in your speech/debate class and a "f" in your people skills class. i've done my research on both trucks and both trucks are great. it's not an easy choice you know. i don't know if you ever had to choose between vehicles when it came to a new vehicle that you were going to buy. i don't know if i menchined it but, i like the way the ram looks, i'm not that impressed with how the titan looks, i don't like the interior of the ram, i love the interior of the titan. not an easy choice bud. Nissan's aren't the only vehicles on planet earth. i think i'll get the dodge just for your sake. here's an advice: stay out of the sun, it's not good for you.
  19. i'm getting an everyday driver( V-8 14- 19 mpg ) i know for a fact that dodge has awesome handling and the cool thing the ram has all wheel drive, where the titan doesn't. im going with the dodge looks like.
  20. i was excecpting an ignorant comment like: i know that this is Nissan board, i just want other peoples opinion. there are people who probably don't like the titan here and like other trucks. a buddy of mine who is also a big Nissan fan calls the titan a female truck because it's feminim. All my friends and family are encourging me to buy the dodge even though most of them drive nissans and infinitis. I don't know any titan owners personnaly that's why i'm asking, dodge, i know a quite a few. that's why i stated that i've heard good comments about the dodge and non about the titan. you guys have been a great deal of help to me, that's why i'm comming here.
  21. i've test driven both, and the dodge has more balls when you punch it. dodge has more horses but the titan has more torque. so power wise, i beleive there the same.
  22. hey guys, i'm getting ready to purchase a new vehicle. i want a pickup truck, either Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Larmie or Nissan Titan crew le 4x4. If i was to purchase a vehicle two months ago, it would of been ram, a week ago, a titan, now i leaning towards the ram again i don't know what i want get anymore. both are about the same price. i like exterior of the dodge and the interior of the Nissan, the Nissan has more buttons, i love buttons. i like em both, i'm also going to use them to haul my path around and a boat. so what are you opinions? oh yeah, i don't like chevy, i think GM products are Garbage Marterials. Ford, the interior is tooo plain. and anyone heard any negitives from any of the these vehicles. i hear all positives from dodge. and none on Nissan.
  23. did you guys know that the water pump for a path 4x4 is different from a path 2wd? it doesn't make sense but it's true. i bought a waterpump today, i took everything apart until i got down to the waterpump. i noticed that my water pump is smaller. i took it back and got one for the my 2wd, same design cut out but the 4x4 water pump has like an arm to it where the 2wd doesn't. i think that's pretty wierd, maybe because i don't have a t-case???
