  1. I would get a pickup over an SUV, especially if you can find one with a roof rack or add a roof rack to it... As a side note, I thought S/C Xterras only came in auto?
  2. After I posted I realized that it would only work with radio and i switched it to the amp turn on wire...thanks for looking out for me As for how much I like the HU I love it. The features are great, the ipod control is just like one of the ipod classic click wheels so it is second nature, the screen is amazing, and the stock speakers really come alive with a quality HU powering them (I am sure the feature where the HU sends no lows to the speakers helps them out a lot)... They are coming out with a new version of this HU called the KIV-701, seems more of a software update than whole new HU.
  3. Thanks man! I figured out both of them with some google skills. For the parking brake wire if you ground it to any metal screw it works and for the sub turn on wire you can attach it to any accessory turn on wire so I used the power antenna wire since that wire is unused.
  4. So attached is a pic of my new HU, a Kenwood KIV-700. After installing it with stock speakers I decided to keep the stock speakers and add a bazooka tube sub. The stock speakers really come alive with a new head unit. My only issue is what should I hook the safety wire up so somebody can watch video while I am driving? They say to hook it up to the handbrake sensor but obviously that means no use while driving. Second issue is what should I hook the turn on wire for the subwoofer too? Thanks, Mike
  5. Find them ASAP. If not search Courtesyparts.com for them or contact alkorahil (thats his member name) and see if he can dig it up...
  6. I was going to by myself a SFD for my Birthday (March 24) but I was told I can't make it any taller. Damn.
  7. Probably a little late but here is my piece since I have owned a 97 and an 01. I got slightly better mileage with the 97 but the gearing is higher in the 01 since it is a 5 speed. The 01 has a lot more power and handles and brakes a little better, but these are minor. The style for the 97 is more rugged where the 01 is more of a stylish road going SUV (I know the front bumper sits an inch or so lower than on the 97). The biggest difference other than the motor is the interior styling/quality. The 01 is worlds ahead of the 97 for interior styling making it a much nicer place to be. BUT I did love my 97 and would still be driving it had the 01 with a 5 speed not fell into my lap.
  8. If you come up with a bumper price make sure you come up with a no winch alternative...I would never need or want to buy a winch and I am sure others would agree...
  9. He scammed members and got kicked off...
  10. Told you people here would be more interested... Get a damn video up!
  11. Call Mobil1 tomorrow and ask them what the difference is and why it benefits high mileage engines. Then ask them about the Truck and SUV formula and post up what they say...
  12. Best of luck Slick. I miss being an active PoHoer. As soon as you can give us updates!
  13. The VG33 in the older R50s take about 4 quarts... Seems low from the factory to me but they run forever...
  14. 5.75 quarts or somewhere about there...check the owners manual before to make sure...
  15. The oil burning issues have to do with dyno oil being in the engine... the valve covers have a poor baffle design which causes sludge to build up before the 3000 miles anyway...
  16. I use Mobil1 5W30, the regular stuff. I used the SUV Mobil1 once when they were out of regular 5W30, but I have no idea what the difference is. I switched at 90k and have had absolutely no oil leaks pop up which is the main concern. I say do it.
  17. And it gets worse...you can get a one in Australia with a manual! Damnit we keep getting screwed!
  18. And another one...notice the headlight washers and the LED turn signals in the mirrors...all factory...
  19. So as us R50 owners are finding out, you R51 owners are getting screwed as well. Below is 2010 spec Pathfinder 450T model from NZ I believe. They are things of beauty.
  20. Exactly what I do...go around once at 60 ft-lbs to get them seated right then hit them all with 100 ft-lbs...
  21. Great job man! You will have my business...
  22. I got 1.5" wheel adapters for the X rims I run during the summer... Every time I have checked them they were still locked down at 100 ft-lbs of torque. I can let you know who I bought them from on Ebay, I know he had perfect feedback and pretty much specialized in machining parts. Included all lug nuts. I bought ones for a Toyota and asked for whatever threading the Pathfinder's existing lug nuts is for the open ended lug nuts and then Toyota lug nuts for the outer lug nuts.
