  1. If I remember right, his bumper is a modified Smittybilt XJ bumper.
  2. Anybody from Michigan, preferably the lower peninsula? Wheeling with other rigs is fun and all, but it would be fun to wheel with other Pathfinders. So, anybody around? I'm in the Grand Rapids area.
  3. I'm interested in doing something similar, so I'll be keeping an eye on this.
  4. Is there any chance you can get pictures straight on from the back, to show how the difference in stance looks? I'm thinking I may do this the same way (in terms of combining wheels and spacers) but I want to make sure it won't look too weird.
  5. Good luck! I hate to see somebody getting out of a Pathfinder, but whatever works for you is awesome! I was looking at XJ's too, but all the ones up here in Michigan were super rusty...
  6. So a Lokka would be awesome, but the issue is that I don't have manual hubs yet, and I can't afford both right now. I'm kind of tempted to do some supporting mods, like manual hubs, so I can do more substantial mods in the spring.
  7. Again, it's been a while, but not a ton has happened. All that's really changed is I fixed everything that was broken when I bought it with some parts from junkyard R50's and added a Curt roofrack and extension, that so far only has a shovel mounted to it. Not sure what mod I want to get next, what do you guys think? And just to start planning ahead for when I eventually get new wheels, would anybody be interested in 5 Infiniti tri-spoke wheels with some damage to the chrome?
  8. Wow, the stance looks great! How much backspace do those wheels have?
  9. I look forward to hearing how you like them as you get more miles on them, particularly on those rock ledges! This is something I've wanted to do since I got my R50, but wasn't willing to figure out how. Now I've got another thing on the to-do list!
  10. I have had front and rear spacers from that same seller for almost a year now, and I couldn't be happier. Definitely would use them again if I had another R50 to build.

  12. Do you have a suggestion as to how to make the front swaybar easier to disconnect? I haven't seen any products for the purpose for our vehicles. Also, are there any concerns that would come with the increased movement in the front suspension (increased chance of damage to CVs)?
  13. I've only seen 1 WD, and it's the only Pathfinder I've seen regularly, as someone at my school drives it. I have also seen a few R50 Pathfinders and QX4s and two of them were lifted, but I've only seen these once. That being said, I live in a city with 200,000 residents, so seeing so many is expected.
  14. There are three main benefits: 1. Low speed means less whiplash to the occupants and less likelihood of damage to the vehicle 2. Overdrive off and low range keeps lower gears engaged, which forces the engine to rev higher, which keeps things flowing better 3. Overdrive off and low range keeps lower gears engaged, which gives more torque, which is useful in tricky off-road situations In my experience, 5 mph is still too slow for most trails (obviously speed varies based on terrain and obstacles), but I usually go in the 10-15 range. I haven't experimented with airing down yet, so others will have to chime in on that one!
  15. For struts, I do not believe anybody makes extended ones; if you are running longer than stock coils the best you can do is get struts that are more heavy duty. I do not know their part number, but are these the Rancho shocks you're looking for? http://www.4x4parts.com/i-18981655-rancho-rs9000xl-rear-shock.html
  16. Wow, it looks really good! Could you post a link to theexbrit's guide? I can't seem to find it. Have you had a chance to use the winch yet, to tell if your bumper mounting is secure enough?
  17. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually bent his frame out of square...do NOT do as he does, take up slack then gentle pressure! I prefer to use the trailer hitch as a recovery point whenever possible, but if you have to use the front it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to use some kind of bridle so the tow points can share the load. But again, if you're using a tow strap, gently....not like that guy!
  18. Yup. Other examples are readily available on YouTube.
  19. Some pics from the other day when I was playing on some fishermen's two trails down by the river. Almost got stuck because I forgot to engage 4wd...
  20. Roof rack looks real good on it! Maybe zip ties would make a good alternative to the hose clamps. XD
