I use straight valvoline 30w and it even stopped leaking on to my exhaust. Runs great too. But now it's winter I may change to something else, haven't decided for sure yet. -Colby

Do you have detailed pictures of it from many different angles? -Colby

Pre Cut window tint... Has anyone tried it?
colbywan replied to JohnMasters's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
You know that removing the tint, especially when it's so old it's gone purple is the REAL PAIN in the arse!! My tint friend says that ammonia works the best for getting off the adhesive though. Just make sure you've got plenty of ventilation. -Colby -
Pre Cut window tint... Has anyone tried it?
colbywan replied to JohnMasters's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
There's lots of little tricks to it that makes it much easier believe me. For example; clean the OUTSIDE of the window to be tinted. Take the tint lay it out as flat as you can get it OUTSIDE of the window. Trim it to the exact size and viola! You've just created your own pre-cut window film. Make sure you use a spray bottle and lots of water when installing it will help tremendously. Here's a link I looked up to save someone time -Colby -

Strange Popping sounds coming from front end..
colbywan replied to colbywan's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
The CV boots are in perfect condition and besides I am very familiar with the sounds of one clicking and popping and this is totally different than that. Yeah I greased my stops and it had no effect so and I was pretty sure it wouldn't so I'm thinking that this is almost for sure what my problem is too. I'm thinking it's my crossmember too like they said.. I've got 6" of lift and only 32" tires. I'm more than positive that the tires aren't rubbing but thanks for the help friend! Thanks for all yer help fellows!! -Colby -
I've got to say that every member of the staff I contacted jumped at helping me and did everything necessary to get things to lead towards a positive outcome. I was then and am now totally impressed with the way that EVERY staff member on this board has acted when contacted by me or likewise in dealing with things as this. Well, that is to say every staff except dan of course. Thanks again... -Colby edit - Oh, yes it did go through after some riggormorrole that's for sure! Here it is installed - http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...5&hl=safari

I was involved with a transaction with dan back last christmas and it took him a couple months to finally get the rack shipped out. There was a point when I thought I had been SOL but I turned to this forum and had his peers put the squeeze on him then I opened up a dispute case with him via paypal then almost overnight he shipped it out. So I think he is the type to NOT screw you over totally but rather an extreme procrastinator. -Colby

Strange Popping sounds coming from front end..
colbywan replied to colbywan's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Very good sir I will commence process of elimination starting with step 1 & then proceeding on to step 2. I thank u for your detailed advice. The compression rod bushings have been replaced recently so I'm sure they're fine. Therefore I'll be skipping step 3 if for some reason the popping persists after addressing step 1 & 2. -Colby -

For it to be the steering stops would it have to be turned to full lock? Because it does it when going round corners when I know it's not even close to lock ya know. -Colby -
I have the strangest popping noises coming from my front end. They're almost like a creaking/popping sounds that happens only when I'm turning and going around corners or pulling out of my driveway while turning and the front end mildly articulates ya know like when pulling out over bump with your wheels turned. They sometimes only make a single pop and other times they pop 2 or 3 times?? I have replaced pretty much everything I can think of in the front suspension (just gradually updating). I've done upper & lower ball joints, new control arm bushings, new compression rod bushings, new sway bar end links, new centerlink, new idler arm, and new tie rods (all of em). I just finished my 3" body lift install yesterday and thought that maybe it was a front body mount making the pop since every other effin thing had been replaced but after I finished I went for a test drive and there was that dam* sound again! Grrr Oh and it's not a CV pop I know what those sound like. CV boots look perfect too... Any ideas ladies & gents? Thanks -Colby

You may want to check all your exhaust hangar brackets, they're often overlooked and can cause a wide variety of loud disturbing sounds similar to what you describe. -Colby

Here is pic of where the radio itself is mounted. I mounted in that pocket under the deck then mounted my police scanner/proximity sensor under that. I had to modify the dash slightly to get it to fit in there but if you had a smaller cb unit it would be easier. I mounted my antenna to the tire carrier via one of those mirror mounts for semi trucks the ran my wire under the bumper then in to some grommet under the rear seat then sealed it up with some automotive urethane caulking. I will be painting my tire carrier with the same matte black automotive that's on my wheels and rack so no remarks bout the rust on it hehe -Colby

Discussion of Front Hubs - Manual vs Automatic
colbywan replied to DoctorBill's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Well I've officially gone through more than a tank of gas and I can say with 100% clarity that there is absolutely no difference in mileage between auto hubs and the warn manuals I installed. -Colby -
Where did you get it and what did it cost you if you don't mind me asking? -Colby
