What did you do to your Pathfinder today?
CO_pathfinder replied to RedRider3141's topic in The Garage
Oh I mean, when I'm in 4wd I have no issues whatsoever. I just hate the mountain mileage that I get when I'm in 4. It drops to like 12 lol. Tires aren't an issue, they've got like 1/2" tread left. I have 4wd, but I like to push the limits of 2wd before I have to kick in down into 4 -

Noooooooooo, living in Colorado, it would a confession of stupidity if you bought a truck that didn't have 4wd. Mostly just sharing my story of the day and reminding myself that open diffs are bad and that I should nix the one I have ASAP -

Was in the mountains today rescuing a buddy who busted a ball joint in a ski resort parking lot when he hit a pothole. When I tried to take off with him, we were going nowhere, while the tach began heading toward the danger zone, and the speedo climbed faster than I've ever seen it do before. Open differentials are so worthless in 2WD on snow and ice that I could not get moving, even starting in 2nd gear, on a flat surface. I laughed Needless to say, as soon as I got home, I drew an arrow on my "Things to Buy for the White Money Pit" from the listing at the bottom, "find a LSD with matching gearing at JY" all the way to the 3rd spot. I currently envy all of you with LSD's just that much more. -
HECK YEAAAAAAAAAA. Props to you on this entire build. You're the envy of a lot of guys here

Apparentlyyy.... Who cares how, as long as it keeps doing what its doing. Am eager to get the miss fixed over Christmas and see if my mpg and power improve any more -

Filled up today after AGGRESSIVE driving in the mountains with off timing and a miss, and got 17.5 MPG I don't think I'll ever understand the quirks of this beast -

Ever considered dipping the black "Nissan" strip silver? Or the letters? I've seen a couple of trucks around that have, and it looks awesome -
They really aren't holes so much as porous welds. I've never seen that much porosity in my life. all of the bad welds are after the cat, which is like a foot behind where it would be stock.
-
I have crazy exhaust leaks.... The PO broke the tailpipe off trying to remove and replace the stock muffler, and so everything from the cat back is poorly welded together bits and pieces of new and old exhaust piping.. Need to get that fixed, just don't have any money for it. I checked the ignition timing a while ago, didn't seem to be off at all, but weirder things have happened. I'll check that this weekend. I really need to check my grounds. I know I've got one underneath the truck that frayed out, but I haven't really looked for any other spots. What kind of an effect would exhaust leaks cause?
-
Haha oh I know, thats why I'm going to check and replace the o2 sensor first.
-
That's the first step I need to take, because if I find that the o2 is in fact working, then I would have to look into replacing my ECM. Thank you both, B and Adam
-
Danke. Will see how that changes things
-
Okey dokey. Is it cool to just get one from my local parts store?
-
I'm thinking then that that's part of it. I still get between 15 and 18, running rich, misfiring, and with timing that feels slightly off. Its a miracle. Going to try to see if I can get a few hours together soon, before finals, so that I can diagnose and hopefully resolve this misfire issue.
-
The truck's only got 80k now, so I'm assuming the o2 only has 80k as well.

Thanks to my relatives, who just yesterday found out that I had a new car, I might now have enough money for a brake overhaul on my truck. New pads and rotors for the front, new pads and adjustment hardware for the rear, and possibly even upgraded calipers for the front. The next step after that will be to replace the struts to hopefully stop front end dive under breaking. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and had the opportunity to eat a lot of food. -

I don't have an issue with pine needles in my carpet, I have an issue with them falling on me head when I open my doors! Guess I shouldn't park underneath a pine tree -

overarches or actual flares? My buddy has a 240, running like -8 camber and a 3inch offset to fit his Fonde rims. Fitment is beautiful -
I'm not bashing man. I'll take anything I can get. It just threw me when you said engine swap, ya know? Now I know why you did and its understandable. I think we can both agree that there are a lot of people here that sometimes don't know what they are talking about. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I changed the fuel filter this morning, no noticeable change in misfire frequency or smoothness. I'll be checking the dizzy laser-like thing hopefully tomorrow if this damn white stuff stops falling from the sky.
