  1. Thanks for the analogylol, I suppose they use those aftermarket gauges in good reason. Suppose I should try one.
  2. I never see my a/t oil temp light come on even tho I feel like my transmission is getting pretty hot, is here anyway I can test this light to see if it works along with the sensor? Does anybody know where the sensor is and how to replace it if it dosent? I'm aware of aftermarket solutions but I would like to stock light to work if the unit gets warm.
  3. Thanks for the info new door panels would be great. So would the seats I just want them to be able to slide forward since I have the two door.
  4. Can I revive this thread again to ask some opinions on the door panel? I'd really like to take one out of a 4 door and put it in my 87, I wouldn't mind the seats either, can anybody tell me if the clips are the same on the door panel and if the seat bracket is the same in all years. Please and thank you!
  5. It was definitely the seat belt lol. I like that a lot more than a beep every 5 seconds of the ride.
  6. How would I get my own disc to insert? And how would you guys consider I clean the LSD? Just wipe it and put LSD gear oil everywhere?
  7. Actually I have the l3 lol can anyone tell me if I can even do this?
  8. No I dont think I have power option, you mean like power windows and locks right? Mine is all manual, I know I don't have a fuse in my rear wiper fuse slot because I used it for something that worked lol. Could the fuse box be beeping when it does not have all its fuses, or maybe a blown one. I will try to do it with the seat belt on as soon as I can.
  9. Trying to get those damn old wire clamps off! As far as the parting out, I wish. There is one at all the local pull a parts in my area and I didnt want to take it apart cause I did have portable air for the crank bolt. Anyyyyywhoooooo ended up buyin the replacement at courtesyparts set me back a bout a week but whatever.
  10. Ive looked around but I cant seem to find anything on these beeps I keep hearing before I start the car, as soon as I turn the key to accesories the car beeps 9 times, can anybody tell me what this mean? (its not my door). I have 87 2 door se-v6
  11. pretty sure I have the L4N71B can anybody tell me if this will work for my trans?
  12. Yes I was talking about the rotational orientation, I just awanted to make sure the timing marks on the big pulley was in correct orientation according to the keyhole. The smaller pulley had a yellow mark on it to refer to. And I actually put it 3 notches over for 15 degrees I heard that was the best for the carbureted versions of the vehicle As far as ignition timing goes I never did it I put the pulley at 15 degrees and she seemed to idle and run just fine. Can anybody tell me if the ignition timing is necessary or will it be okay with just timing up the pulleys correctly. After the pulley was on I did I teeth count on the upper sprockets (still 40). So far so good. I hope all is well and she keeps running.
  13. Does anybody have a good reason to leave these in? I have an 87 and I could use any improvements in the driving that I can get, will this help my gas Milage or responsiveness? If emissions are the only thing this thing helps I think I can do without but if it affects performance I would like it in.
  14. You didnt rotate the engine when you took the pics right? Everything is in the same spot? I need a reference of where to place my pulleys on the harmonic balancers since the timing marks are on the pulleys and no the balancer which has the keyhole and determines how I install it.
  15. could I ask to see somebody's timing marks in relation to the crank key? Im just a little worried that my timing mark pulley should be installed on the harmonic balancer in a certain way. I dont want to use the marks on the pulley if it is installed on the crank wrong.
  16. Right as soon as my teeth count is right on the belts I can align that correct?
  17. That's where the pointer is? On the timing cover? Not sure if I remember one there I will have to check when I get to it. And as long as my teeth count is right (40, 43) then I am ready to time with the light and pulley marks?
  18. Thats 2.5-3 nothes over from the left most mark right?
  19. Because I wasn't exactly sure how to get it off, figured that was the next step I was at a stand still at the point. I'll try to keep them together from now on, thanks..
  20. I am not exactly a wiz with a timing gun I was hoping I wouldn't have to use it. I will do some research and hopefully get back to you guys with some descent info. Also I don't think I have a timing mark on the outer cover of my dusty cap?(not exactly sure what you mean by that) I also don't have one to line up with my balancer marks. How do I go about this?
  21. Yes but is it not possible to put it on backwards? I'm pretty sure I didn't but my Haynes manual doesn't really have a good exploded view of it. Bolts that connect the pulleys and balancer give you a good shove in the right direction on that one. Im still not exactly sure how to time the disy. Your saying I loosen the bolt under the disty. rotor and rotate the crank or the distributor rotor? and im looking to put the contact point right after the number 1 contact point and the tighten the bolt? If im not mistaken the #1 piston should be on its way down the chamber not up it right?
  22. Ok so I broke my water outlet trying to get the hose clamp off, and im trying to go to the part store to get a replacement but they keep trying to give me a thermo housing, I know they are different pieces but in most cars it is the same thing, but when I look in my manual it is called the water outlet, Can anyone help me find this piece? Maybe a different name or part number? When I bought a new thermo they gave me this gasket!!!! Lol at least I will get to use it=) And this is why I need another.
  23. Yeah I just wanted to make sure they werent backwards or anything, here are the marks I was talking about. Here are the marks, you guys dont think these line up with the Harmonic Bal. in any way? There are 4-5 dots on the back of my hard figured they might correlate with that. I see the timing marks on the pulley how would I go about timing the pulley up with the two cam sprockets?
