  1. Yes I was counting from marks on the sprocket and not the back cover, im pretty positive my teeth count is correct, after I line up the lines on the belt with the marks on the sprocket and turn the engine I can NEVER get the dimples to line up with the white lines on the belt again. When I put the belt back on I made sure my teeth count was right again so that shouldnt be an issue. Are you saying I can put it together how it is and fine tune it with the distributor once its together? Also I feel like I need to put the harmonic balancer and pulleys in front of it together a certain way, there are two yellow marks on my pulleys but no corresponding marks on the harmonic balancer, do i need to put the balancer on the pulleys a certain way!?!?!?!
  2. I wouldn't say I twisted the sprocket as much as re-adjusted the belt but I noticed the was turned about a tooth counter-clockwise so I kind of moved it a little and replaced the belt. Tooth count stayed at 40 43 tho.
  3. Does my last video not seem on time? I have pulled the plug I was kinda going by the rotor in the dusty. I didn't want to strip it out it seems like a stubborn plug. Also do I want the #1 piston at the top of its stroke? I am now confused with this BTDC??? Also with the stick or screwdriver I'm just looking for its highest point and keep it there right? Sorry for all the double checking I just want to get this right.
  4. Now with the rotate the rotor to just a little before where the #1 point would be (10 o'clock pos IIRC) and insert it into the head. It will turn a little when you insert it and once it has done this it should end up facing the #1 point. Not really sure what you mean here either.
  5. Do I need the balancer on to make sure this is right? I kinda thought that was a fine tune thing. Can I put the balancer on without putting the belt cover on?
  6. Ok I twisted my top right cam sprocket around a bit but kept it at 40 teeth and this is what im at now, can anybody tell me if the idle in the beginning is correct? http://vid40.photobucket.com/albums/e241/Chadius/IMG_01691_zpstkoqscor.mp4
  7. Definitely off time right? I looked at my sprockets the top left one seemed to be a tooth to the left of the back casing, so far ive read that dosent matter much and the teeth count is what matters, I was at 40 teeth? Should I try to move it but keep my teeth count? Or should I just move the sprocket one tooth to line it up?
  8. So I started it exactly how it was and this is what I got, could any of this be from anything I have off? maybe the Harmonic Balancer or any of the open coolant holes? http://vid40.photobucket.com/albums/e241/Chadius/IMG_01682_zpsmi0j2nyp.mp4
  9. Yeah the dist. Had me confused because there is a one on top and a one inside of the cap so I wasn't sure which one was actually pointing to #1 I will turn the crank twice and make sure it can actually turn, I know that before I adjusted my crank I could do two revolutions without interference but it was 3 teeth off so I just moved the crank until it was lined up with the mark on the belt and made sure the dist. Was at what I thought was #1 The cranks fights back a little in some spots when I try to turn it, that it just compression right?
  10. So you agree that it is timed k9sar? Or at least won't mess my unit up if I start it.
  11. Two people is good enough for me, I guess I'll go fire it. I just didn't wanna bend or bust anything and ruin the motor starting it off time.
  12. Bottom punch marks, They are 43 teeth away from the top right cam sprocket. Look like its timed yet!? lol
  13. The rotor is where the red line is, is this TDC?!?! punch marks 40 teeth apart, I had to move the top right sprocket forward and It accidentally turned way further then I wanted it to so I turned it backward. (is it ok to turn the sprockets backwards???)
  14. Also my dis. Rotor is pointing pretty much to left, is that #1? My cap is kind of confusing.
  15. Just got my belt and tensioner in, just wanna make sure all is right when I put it on. So one last time if my teeth count is correct (40 & 43) and if the marks match up with the back cover and I'm on time right? And of course my distributor rotor is pointing at 1
  16. Yeah that's kind of my issue, all I have to do is take the belt of and like up the top left cam sprocket then put the belt back on and it's good?
  17. It seems I can't get my marks to align and every time I try to count I seem to be 43 teeth to each cam punch.
  18. Also on inside the distributor cap there is a #1 that isn't or correlation with what seems like would be the number 1 plug, anyone seen this before?

  20. When I bought my water pump the instructions said it would leak for a little bit until the gasket set in. If that helps.
  21. So I got the belt back on trying to get the marks to line up but before I turn it are there supposed to be 40 teeth in between only when the marks are lines? Right now I'm at 43 in between but my marks are not lined up on either cam.
  22. Hahaha sorry, so as long as the notches line up I'm at TDC right?
