I've searched for his write-up and have had no success in finding it...any chance you could link it in here? Thanks

I went with this Rugged Ridge bumper. Not sure about the width and fit. I know it will require fabbing to make it fit. At least from the brackets. Time will tell. Got the air compressor. Pretty impressed with it. Inflates 31's super quick. This model was designed to fill up to 35's.

Get an aluminium skid plate instead.

True. That is pretty thick rubber. But I've seen similar bushings fail on my S4. Probably because it's lowered. I guess the same goes for lifted. It will permanently be held in a position it wasn't lined up for from factory. Either way, my control arms are super rusted so they are getting swapped out. I am with you though, I do believe the clunking, (at least in my case) is in fact coming from the sway bar end links. Will look into replacing those next.

I'd say just replace all the speakers and head unit with aftermarket. Get Bluetooth handsfree calling. I love my upgraded unit. Made trips much more enjoyable. Well worth it. -
In other news, I ordered an XJ bumper, I believe it is the same as theexbrit has on his. I have a smittybilt air compressor on the way. Haven't decided yet whether I will build it in or just have stored in the car. Now I'm looking for a decent winch to complete the front end.

I didn't cut the rear fenders only the front. Sorry I didn't take pics when I did it. It wasn't really a planned thing. More like, let's see if I can grind the rust away with my angle grinder...and then one thing led to another lol. @!*% got outta hand real quick and before you know it my wheel arches were much bigger and my plastic liner was all but gone. I've since cut even more and folded it back inwards to have something to drill into for my new fenders, which I love!

I get my fix (until I get out and do the real deal) by spending too much time on here (NPORA), the inter webs in general, buying things I probably don't need, but want and imagine one day I'll be surviving the zombie apocalypse because of my Pathinder [emoji38]

Rust blows. For those of us in the east, it's inevitable. That however looks quite treatable still. I had some spots that were rotten straight through. I simply ended up cutting them out like a cancer. And now I can fit 33's with no issues at all

Good find my friend! Thanks

[UPDATED 05/09/15] Automakers to gearheads: Stop repairing cars
CDN_S4 replied to RedPath88's topic in General Forums
Amen to that! My newest car is an 08 A4. My S4 is an 04 and my Pathy is a 99. I fully intend to keep these 3 as long as I possibly can. The Audis might be high tech compared to the PF but not compared to today's cars. I have zero interest in the new technology of self driving cars and cars that brake for you to avoid collisions etc. I'd like to keep driving cars, not computers. This is just another money grab from already rich companies. Greed is a bottomless pit. Luckily aftermarket parts is a huge business too so we will let them fight the car manufacturers for dominance while the rest of us keep wrenching away. -
Quick snap shot of my trailer I've been working on.

Yeah that's what I was hoping for to save me some time. I might just have to dig in and see what lies beneath.

I wouldn't say common problem, no. Sounds like the antenna or antenna cable. Should be an easy fix. As long as the the CD and other functions work. Make sure you get underneath it and take a good look at bushings, rust build up/flaking. Ask when all fluids were last changed, including front diff and transfer case, transmission fluid and of course motor oil. That should give you a good idea of how well the vehicle was looked after. -
Don't be. That piece of plastic will not protect your truck or keep it clean anyway. Maybe cleaner, but since the sides are still open, it's not like it would seal anything in. It's basically a very basic skid plate for minor stuff like raccoons and cats etc...

Dammit iPhone auto correct!

3" SFD would be great! While I'm multiple projects deep on all 3 of my vehicles, plus my trailer restore, my ADD is in high gear and now I want to retrofit an overhead console to read out the exterior temp. My question is this: Since I have a temp sensor in front of the radiator, wired for for lights and heated seats, yet have none of those options. Am I right to assume that I will have the wires behind my non read out console just waiting to be paired up a read out? Could this really be such a simple plus and play? Somehow I'm afraid the answer will be No... But please say yes! Lol

AFAIK and from my own experience, the motor and transmission will usually outlast the body and frame on these rigs. That is, if you conduct the regular recommended maintenance of course. But IMO very reliable. -
Just ordered both of these lower control arms. Not sure where you found the term transverse links?!
-
I'm in need of replacing this too! At least that's what I think I need as I started to get a clunk sound coming from the front right on occasion.
-
Sorry I don't quite understand the above message. I'd pay for shipping of course if that's what you're trying to say?
-
Oh yeah?! 98 AC condenser?! Would you ship?
-
Inquired about OEM condenser...$649. No thanks!!! Gonna have to go for the Valeo option. They make ballasts for Audi headlights. Can't be too bad!
