Found a DIY for the overhead console retrofit. A bit more complicated than I had hoped but still something I will eventually pursue if I get around to it. http://forums.nicoclub.com/2004-pathfinder-overhead-console-upgrade-t543809.html

They are rubber. Dorman OE replacement arms from auto parts warehouse. I do believe I might have tightened them while in the air. I'll have to jack it back up, listen, lower it down and tighten again and see if that makes a difference.
-
Hmm...I don't recall now when I tightened them. Looks like the driver side is sitting lower than the passenger. Makes me think I might have done one in the air and one on the ground. Good thinking!

Ok my suspension has a mysterious life of its own. Or my control arms were REALLY bad before as now my PF sits level.
-
Let the wife drive it today...

No, it's Rough Country bumper. Winch is Smittybilt. Thanks. Looking forward to have it mounted.

I bought the same one. But after some advice from my local club members I went with the steel cable. Our very wet and heavily wooded environment is more suited for cable as it requires less maintenance. The synthetic ropes need to be cleaned off and kept dry for the most part. They also easily snag on branches and debris often found in woods. As long as I keep the cable well doused in WD40, I should have no issues. Now if I lived in a warmer, more arid region I would do synthetic for sure. This is the only picture I currently have.

Holy.... Wow that's impressive. Does this mean you are no longer selling it with the 9" of lift?

Looks awesome!!! That grill bush guard looks great on the Q. Love how the Infinities have bigger fenders than the Nissans. I really like the colour you picked. Good job, now on o front strut spacers to level it out a bit more.

Lucky you. Unless cars are meticulously under coated as soon as they leave the show room and redone every year, there is no way for an undercarriage not to look like mine. Especially on a 16 year old car that has been out for 16 long winters, lots of rain and dirt and gravel and mud. But all in all, it is mostly surface. When I swapped out the control arms, the bolts that came out still looked brand new except for the head and the tip of the bolt which were corroded. But the nuts still came off no problem. Took the grinder to other parts too to remove rust and it's all just surface for the most part. I would love to get it sand blasted and complete exposed, then repainted and under coated. But I don't have the funds for that as it would require some substantial stripping of parts, and wires. A can of worms I don't want to open lol. I have faith in ol Rusty.

That's what I'm thinking too. That's why I have a 4" SFD on the way.

Sprayed rear bumper black as tomorrow my winch bumper (black) will be mounted. If all goes well that is... It will look a lot better once it is as dirty as the rest of the truck.

Haha that bad eh?!

Test fitting boxes and roof storage for camping season. And, new control arms
-
Gave everything a shake and all seems tight. All in all my front consists of new struts, new springs, new ball joints, new complete tie rods, new sway bar end connectors and new control arms. At last my clunk is gone. Turns out it was the control arms. Still get vibration though.
-
Put on new front control arms. No more clunk!

vibration from duratracs or ome springs?
CDN_S4 replied to 94svt50's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Yeah it's definitely common. Mine isn't the rotors. And it's definitely associated with the lift. I'm hoping/thinking the SFD will help. I'm also putting on new control arms soon. Seeing if that helps. -
A sneak peek of what's coming soon...

vibration from duratracs or ome springs?
CDN_S4 replied to 94svt50's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Was thinking about the vibration thing some more since I've replaced a bunch of steering and suspension parts and the vibration is still there. Would the CVs not being aligned perfectly cause this vibration by constantly oscillating? -
Good advice. I'll give those 2 things a shake. I did shake the sway bar and it didn't make any sound. I torqued the links to spec. I'm quite confident they are on tight. The sound seems a bit "springy" sounding, almost a bit like a pop. I would imagine the strut assembly to sound like that if it wasn't bolted down tight. Which it is. I checked that last night after putting in a camber bolt. I had a hard time re-assembling the passenger side strut assembly. I wonder if maybe the top part with the bearing in it just isn't sitting right. For a while I couldn't get that centre nut back on the shock, so once I did, I thought it must be right, otherwise it wouldn't have worked. Now I'm second guessing myself. The last thing I wanna do is take it all apart again. But if the CV axle yields no results then I might just have to.

I too am getting a clanking sound from my front right. I replace the Sway bar mounts, put new bolts, including camber bolt into the strut mounts and nothing worked. Still clanks about. End links and tie rods as well as ball joints are all newly replaced. It does "feel" like it comes from the strut though, ever since I put the OME's in. From what i've read above, I'm starting to think it could be the strut mount bearing. I did have a hard time getting the passenger side one back on after I put the new springs on. It sounds like something was lose, but nothings appears to be lose. Lucky for you the links solved the problem, that's what I was hoping too, especially where the original ones were shot.

Nice. Yeah I remember his Rig. His Pathy was one of the reasons why I wanted one. Thanks for the info. If I don't get one from KF then I'll go this route
-
Oh nice, so if I buy the whole kit you would buy the strut spacers from me?
