  1. Yep, there's a reason the say "speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?" Throwing some blower fan isn't going to do anything differently than to the air than driving down the road. Plus, they install after the air filter. Could you imagine what would happen down the road if that fan gets brittle, breaks, etc. and comes apart. :o
  2. SAS is Solid Axle Swap, as in dump your independent front suspension for a much stronger solid axle. Best left to those handy with the wrench and welder. As for the Tbars, I got the SwayAway ones from AC and they claim to be 30% stiffer than stock. All it really seemed is that I don't have to crank them near as much to get lift, and it may ride a tad stiffer. But yep, you can gain lift by cranking your stock ones. Search is your friend on this subject.
  3. Nope, I hear those are crap as well. They may be able to generate faster or swirling airflow, but what they can't do is compress the air like a super- or turbocharger can do. From what I've read, the gain you see from these things and those electic fan "turbochargers" is nominal at best, and often the blades slow and restrict the airflow rather than helping.
  4. If I remember right, these are the ones Jim has. They're similar to mine too. Wheels
  5. That's just plain bad. Hoping they'll move on in the years. Maybe I could donate my 94 as a test vehicle. sly
  6. So I'd have the auto indicators there, or could I leave those off? I'm not going to do it if I have to have the auto indicators showing even though mine is a stick.
  7. I tried finding one for my 94 manual, but the sellers said they would only be for the auto because of the shift indicator. I don't know how different the auto vs. manual gauges are, does anybody think this is true or crap?
  8. Tons of work. Search is your friend. Try searching for say 350 swap or v8 swap. Remember to set the timeframe for your search a long time back.
  9. I have the drop-in, and it does just fine. It probably wouldn't hurt to open up the intake of air into the airbox too, I did.
  10. Could your sticky gas pedal be this?
  11. I got my steering stabilzer (stock set-up) from a 4x4 Hardbody truck at the local junkyard for $15. You may want to try something like that. The dealer wanted more than that just for the mounting kit to hook up a new stabilizer, and then the stock replacement was $28 or so from Schucks. The Rancho kit is more, but surely is better.
  12. Yeah, that's bs how they limit it to 100K. I had mine in at the dealer at 102K miles cause I thought the noise was valvetrain or something. Didn't know about the recall replacement at the time. They were kind enough to point out the problem and tell me the cost. Way to build some loyalty for the stealer. Needless to say, I never went back.
  13. Ouch. I do believe you should hide. A fire storm is coming.
  14. I was told that to reset the ECU, you just disconnect the battery to allow things to reset. If I remember right, something like 5-10 min should do it.
  15. I've got a 4 door with the rear spare and all the weight, including a sub box, and I got about 2 1/2 inches lift. Could be that my old springs were really sagging though. You could also install air shocks to give you a little boost. They're pretty cheap.
  16. Definately. Save it for someone else's neighborhood. Preferrably after midnight.
  17. Those are good times. I got to do a motor swap on my freshly wrecked truck back in high school (wasn't my fault!- the wreck, at least). I ran out of something, bondo I think, so I drove it 5 miles into town with the whole exhaust in the bed and no fenders or hood. Talk about a loud S.O.B. I'm betting the Pathy would be really loud. Have you considered just hollowing out the catalytic converter rather than going to the bypass?
  18. If you don't have emissions regs where you live, you should be ok. Those set-ups have been available on boats for a while. Dad put one on their boat. Nothing like opening it at full throttle with a 454.
  19. For security, DARK tinting helps. Plus I added a few super bright blue led's to the alarm. They can be seen from 100ft away, especially at night.
  20. Details, details. Would you rather they went all ghetto and asked about fitting "Dubs" or something?
  21. Also see if the rocker switch snaps off so you can access the actual switch below. If so on your newer truck (mine does on a 94) see if the window will move with that switch. If so, trim the rocker to allow more movement. Process of elimination of the cheap stuff first.
  22. Did you say in another post that you had a recent oil change? I can't remember, and can't find it. If so, maybe somebody decided to "help you" and got a little crazy with the grease gun???
