Yep, the whole rear hatch is the problem usually. I think there used to be a plastic thing on the hoop/hook like on the doors, but if there was originally, it was long gone. I spent a couple years simply wrapping the hoop with a couple layers of electical tape and replacing every 6 months-1 year. Tried bending the hoop in a vice, with a hammer, etc. to get it to pull the door closed harder. I finally just slid in a washer per side on the bolts between the base of that hoop thing and the body, about 1/4" thick if that, and it works like a charm.

Been test driving it for 2 weeks. *tips beer back*

Couple notes: -although it doesn't look like it, yes, there is plenty of room underneath to clean up any dribble -I liked that spot cause its right up top and next to the fender, easy to reach with the lift -the angle I went with was trying to get close to that of the stock angle, just because -yes, I do need to go back and secure the lines. There's clearance between the exhaust, and they barely move, but still its piece of mind. Plus, I've got headers to install at some point. -finally, um... er... sorry, beer fridge is now empty!

What makes you say its the tire? Have you checked to see if the noise is the exhaust manifold?

Here are some pics. Hope to follow with the header install, as they've been sitting in the other room for almost a year. I don't remember the specs/model #'s, I can't seem to find the paperwork, but its the same as Slick's cause she's a doll and hooked me up with all of the above.

LOL, ditto! But yeah, rotation seems like the key. I had to slide it through one spot at on angle, then spin it around to another for the next turn. Its not straight forward, ya have to sit there and spin (and probably cuss) until it comes out. I haven't really found a magic pill, other than beer.

Honestly, most anything other than like and ARB or such will probably cause as much damage as it prevents. If you're just looking at pushing away brush, go for one like Statikuz mentioned. Otherwise, you're not really going to get any "real" protection, so why not just roll it stock for now and wait until you can afford and/or find something better? This coming from me, Mr. ChromePickles...

Ditto on the extensions and flex/u-joint. Its a pain for sure, especially for those of us with a screwed up back having to reach in there. I've got the stock removal tool, but its like stone age tech. No thanks.

Sorry for the frustration, I'm learning a new computer, Vista, a few other things, plus the new forums- all at once. Oh, and ditto that to 88. I agree, all in all things are much nicer. Its just like home, complete with those irritating moments where you can't remember where you set down your keys.

Call me lost, but what the hell. How does one control their sig, basic stuff like that. This format seems to offer a bunch of flash but to me is pretty user-unfriendly. I can't seem to figure out how to manage anything about my profile really, pics in the sig, etc. Everything seems incredibly cryptic.

I'm hoping to score some pics, but I don't know if they'll give them up. I was driving, and the wife was left at the top of the hill with no camera. D'oh!

Scott, you know this sounds familiar with at least somebody you know. We've got a bunch of freakin weekend commandos around here. Can't complain though, I had to have my Prelude pulled out of the sand at Ocean Shore, WA. I just laugh cause I've offered to give them a ride on other trips. I bet we'll re-evaluate things over this summer.

Got some camping in this weekend, with very minimal sleep but I provided massive damage to the local Jim Beam and Bud Light supplies. We found a private spot right on the water on Hood Canal in Western WA, and right on an oyster bed where a group of 14 of us camped. We ate the oysters pretty much the entire weekend, and its ridiculous. They were literally everywhere. Tens and tens of thousands, if not millions on the beach, ready to go. The best part was the road, a really steep grade of wet, grassy/mossy and muddy ground. It was fairly easy 2-track down until the last several hundred feet of really steep grade, and I was pretty amused to have a couple cars down there and another behind me. The first night was really nice at first, went to bed about 2:30am, but I woke up at 5am to pouring rain until 2pm or so the next day. The first car out was an Accord in the beginning of the monsoon that finally made it up on the 4th or 5th try with a really big head start, a clean road and eventually a floored right pedal that left a chewed up and muddy track. We chilled for that day of rain but had a really nice afternoon and a clear night. Many oysters, fish, various seafood, and obscene amounts of food and beer were consumed. The next day’s first was a 4banger Kia, which would have about made it but the Honda had already made a nasty mess. There were several runs made in forward, then I suggested reverse to take advantage of the front wheel drive weight going up hill, and it damn near worked. My buddy Kelly was driving at this point, and he can get things done (he's who finally sawed the Honda through the mud and got it done). He could have made it but the turns going up killed the run. His own rig there was a Toyota Tacoma 4 cyl on 6" and 33's, so I had the torque advantage on long hill tow/ climb for sure. We also had a Land Rover Disco V8, but the tires wouldn't cut it if it got slippery. The end came with the Korean cars backward, strapped from the shipping mounts in the middle of the rear end (the only solid and accessible mounting points), tied on with a thick rope because of the puny factory mounting points, and then to recovery strap, with my buddy Kelly at the wheel gassing it in reverse up-hill, and me pulling in 4-low for several hundred feet. Results: all vehicles accounted for; oyster quota fulfilled; beer consumed

Poor Slick got robbed. As for driveway alignments, maybe for a trail truck, no way for a daily driver. I bucked up for the Firestone lifetime alignment a while back, like $129. Been in 4 or 5 times now, no questions, after wheeling or installing new parts (ball joints, uca's, bushings, etc.). Its been straight as an arrow afterward except one time, and I just took it back and they fixed it, no problemo. That figures out to what, around $25/per.

Not bad logic. I couldn't do that trip (CO or Moab) for a couple years though. Got almost 2 weeks in Hawaii already booked this winter and have burned the rest of my vacation, then there's the prospect of Cambodia next year. But hmmmm.... As for Anacortes, I'm there Jim! You know I'm local, about a 2+ hour drive from Bonney Lake, and that's an awesome area up there. Lots of stuff to see around town, at the beach and in the countryside, and tons of fishing and crabbing if you have a boat. For those out-of-town'ers, ferries leave regularly from Anacortes to the San Juan Islands (look it up, very nice) as well as to Victoria, B.C. from Anacortes. Vancouver, B.C. is probably another hour up I-5, and Seattle is a bit over an hour south, eastern Washington is a couple hour drive to mountains, lakes, semi desert, even sand dunes. All are excellent destinations, and you could make a long trip out of it.

My main computer computer decided to retire early 2 weeks ago. F'n Dell, it was only 2 1/2-3 years old. GRRRRR I tried what I could, and it spent a week in the shop, but the motherboard appears to be toast. I'm not really seeking out suggestions at this point, as we're looking into a new and much stronger desktop, cause we're tired of laptops and the bs. In the meantime, I've hooked up the old skool pc now, about 7+ years old rolling Win 98... barely. It literally takes a couple min for a page to load. LOL I'm blocked at work, so this is it. Sorry to the couple guys who pm'd over the last few weeks and didn't get a reply until tonight. I hope to be up and running not too long from now, I've just had this among a few other unexpected and quite expensive surprises in the last 2 weeks or so. Whattya do... *chugs beer*

Nope, nada. What would you do with one anyways? We don't even have a real clubhouse!
