Saw your post about the washers so I kept it in mind when I went to pick them my package at the postal office (really happy it came earlier than Oct 2nd!) last night. Installed it so no pretty pictures today because it's piss pouring outside. Sooo much easier to install and uninstall because it's just four bolts. The bolts and washers are actually pretty heavy duty. I definitely can see what you mean by surface area but because the washers are beefier than expected, I don't think there's anything you need to worry about. I'm really happy with the skidplate! Just don't know what to do with the stuff I removed now. Maybe I'll throw it up on craigslist for $5 and then junk it at the end of the week. e: I do have nice photos of it out of package but it's on my other camera.

Definitely go for the MM if you're not doing anything crazy. It's MM 435 if i recall correctly. I will probably end up getting the warn because I do some boulder/rock crawling for my hunting expedition. Hell, there's a path at Mike's Lake that's all rocks and all boulders. I'm not comfortable taking that one till I lift my Pathfinder.

Nice find. I'd do a full tune up on it. Spark plugs, rotor, cap, wire, air filter, and fuel filter. You shouldn't need to do a timing belt change for another 50,000 miles. Your transmission SHOULD be fine. Does it feel weird? Shift hard? Stalls? If it doesn't, then you're OK. The squeaking that you're hearing might be your bushing for the trailing arms. It should be OK considering the number of miles but I guess age would have a big impact on it. And yeah, the LE typically don't have tow hitches. It's usually an add-on for owners. I don't have one on my 97 and am planning on adding one. Do you got 4x4? I'm jealous, you got a sweet almost new vehicle for a steal.

Knock sensor will not kill your engine. All it does it adjust the timing ever so slightly to compensate for any change in the engine. The fuel system or your EGR is the likely culprit. I would look at your EGR to make sure it's working properly on start up and not sticking up (which kills your engine).

Glad to hear you kept your Pathfinder and hope you feel it was still the right call for you. As for the tires, you are absolutely right to refuse the tires especially if it was damaged like that. I'm not sure what your dealership mean by that there's not many tires out there that fit your Pathfinder unless they're saying, "This is all we have in stock." There are many more options available for you depending on your usage. I am assuming you're not doing any offroading but will be using this as your regular commuting vehicle. I agree with Karmann that if you check your tire serial number, you can find out the age of it and make the appropriate decision. As for Japanese/American parts, never had a problem with aftermarket replacement parts.
