  1. Whoa, it's in really good condition. Nice work. You should be able to do a lot of major upgrades to make it a fun play toy.
  2. Love the intro and I hear you on the #6 spark plug being a PITA. I remember taking cleaning the area with the air compressor before removing the plug altogether and would walk back to the work bench, grab the new spark plug, walk back and get ready to thread it in by hand until... "where did it go...?" Took a good 10-20 minutes to find it by hand and then I would go, "ok! let's put the plug in" grab the plug while I took my hands out and then go, "ah crap I lost it again." Much fun was had. Good thing you don't have to do it again for another probably 100k km? My spark plugs looked pretty similar to yours except they were missing nipples at the end and the gap was probably .050 Enjoy your R50.
  3. Could this also cause vibration in the steering wheel?
  4. Glad to hear your path is running again and thank you for posting your conclusion
  5. I would check the rest of your steering components. Is it usually doing this in a particular direction you're turning?
  6. I don't understand. The fuel filter was badly plugged up or...? I personally would do the fuel pump before the ignition coil but that's just me... Are you sure your fuel lines aren't clogged? If the filter was plugged up, I can see some sediments sitting in your fuel line buggering it all up.
  7. X2 what adamzan said. I have had family ruined my stuff before (thankfully not expensive) when they meant well. There are fairly good diplomatic ways to deal w it and still come out whole.
  8. The best way to test it without a hammer is to use an ohm meter...
  9. According to nicoclub, 99 and older don't have it...
  10. Ok, that was weird. It looks like my beck engine light went away. P0446 is no longer pending. Looks like it was definitely dirty because I haven't done anything I it yet. Will clean it this weekend and see if I can add a filter to protect it from charcoal. Any advices?
  11. Limited edition run if you haven't seen the thread. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38640-4x4design%2Ecom-%2A-New-product---Front-Skidplate--pre-order-starting Till end of August to put your pre order in.
  12. I would check to make sure you have gas first. Happened to someone I know. If it's not cranking, I would check the battery, the starter, and the alternator. Then check the fuse for the fuel pump. As for the transfer case, I would go after the towing company.
  13. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/forums/43-Nissan Don't know if their rules are ok with it. It's a mix of all nissan vehicles but I know there is quite a few r50s there.
  14. I would post this at expo nissan forum though. I am sure there will be people who would love to change over to aluminum for less weight.
  15. Oh son of a... Busy doing repairs to my pathfinder and bought new tires yesterday on order so bad timing for me and my budget. I will see what I can do... Any chances of bringing back the bushings you had? I think I remember you did it before... If not my bad
  16. There's 3 DTC codes in the EC section for the 1997 Pathfinder FSM. Which one is it? P0335 P0340 P1336 http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Pathfinder/1997_Pathfinder/ec.pdf
  17. Oh, I goofed... let me just get the results. Pay attention to the dates. It was literally less than 24 hours in between. The only thing that was done was cleaning the MAF sensor. The throttle response, power, and MPG has changed dramatically despite being a hog with the AC. Night and day.
  18. Oh, I should have clarified. What happened was I did some work on my pathfinder the weekend, I cleared to code to see if the P0325 would come back again (it did not). I just haven't completed the drive cycle before bringing it to the mechanic a couple days later. He said they weren't ready. Drove for 100km, following the FSM instructions to get all the system ready, brought it back with the new codes for the evap system. He quoted me $173 for the solenoid, I declined and brought it to AirCare and passed the same day. By the way, the P0450 disappeared last week. Just P0440 and P0446.
  19. Oh wow, that's no good and depressing at the same time. PM sent w my vin number. Why would they not put a filter media between the solenoid and the charcoal canister? Doesn't seem like it would take very much unless it would restrict the flow more than necessary?
