  1. Conventional I change at 5k km Synthetic I change at 8-10k km 25k km? I'm not comfortable with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. You should be fine. It sounds like you're just over by 800km. How often do you change your oil?
  3. I never had to do that with any of my filters. Always took it off by hand and hand tighten...? I used to use Pennzoil conventional oil for a long time in all my vehicles but when I got my pathfinder, I switched to Mobil 1 10w30 synthetic last year. I am currently using Castrol GTX Full synthetic 5w30 (on sale at Canadian tire for $35 instead of $60). I've seen the Royal Purple stuff and thought it looked interesting. I might give it a try. Oil filter, I used Mobil 1 but not this time around. I went back to using Fram Ultra Guard instead of their economy brand. If I don't like it, I can switch back so w/e.
  4. I've seen the silent armour tires. They look like fantastic tires, just a little pricy for me. I didn't see that you had the spacers on your list so my bad! I thought I read it as AC springs only so that's on me. Another suggestion I would make is that depending on what state you live in, I would strongly recommend looking into spraying your undercarriage with rust protection (bed liner, rhino guard, etc) and do a nice rocker guard paint job on the lower half of your pathfinder. That's what I'm planning on doing. Another thing I would add is to add more recovery points to your pathfinder and recovery tools as well. A shovel will be your best friend.
  5. Have you looked at 4x4Design's coil spacer lifts? Affordable and a good option especially if you're not offroading. It sounds like the pathy will be your winter beater.
  6. I was thinking the same thing as well. Where are these magical prices...? e: http://www.amazon.com/WARN-29091-Premium-Manual-Hubs/dp/B000CQDPIQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410808948&sr=8-1&keywords=29091 http://www.amazon.com/Mile-Marker-MileMarker-Supreme-Manual/dp/B000VSKQ7I/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1410809056&sr=8-11&keywords=mile+marker+locking+hubsA bout $50 difference; however, http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/mmk-435 - $99.97 http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/wrn-29091 $179.97 $80 difference. The best price I was able to find locally was $230 all-in at my parts store. If people are finding Warns for a lot cheaper, then colour me surprised eh?
  7. Looking good man! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Changed oil using synthetic oil 5w30 castrol. New filter too. Did a temp repair on my rear bumper by removing the broken bolts and rethreading the nuts to use 1/2" machine screws. Spray paint them to protect against rust. I will have to go a proper fix but for now it works and doesn't look like it will fall off during a commute. Inspected my tie rods, control arms, all front suspension. Everything is ok, just the struts are no good. It can wait. Trailing arms need to be replaced though. Not immediately, but eventually. Oh, clean the engine compartment with a pressure washer (safely). Nice and shiny now. I didn't get around to fixing the evap system. Not in a rush. Topped up all fluids. Everything is hunky dorky. Stared at it while wishing I could have more time for rust repairs and rocker guard paint on the body. Wished I had the cash on hand for manual locking hubs. Stared at my gg at2 tire to admire them. Almost ready for my hunting trip! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. ???? Weird. I have to check my pathfinder since we have the same year.
  10. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Pathfinder/1997_Pathfinder/el.pdf start at page 162. the junction box under your steering wheel column (driver side door, there's a little swing hinge. i use that for my coin storage). It should be #12 (7.5amp) so second column, 3rd row for the fuse. try replacing that first.
  11. yep i got those and they are pretty damn good.
  12. I had the same issue as you and ended up putting a seat cover on it... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. How go you bump up the timing? What other drawbacks are there other than emission? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Just want to say that I like your floors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Wheeled it a little yesterday. Topped up the coolant. Topped up the oil. Gave it a little gas. Measured my gas consumption. 12.7L/100km (18.5mpg). That can't be right.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I'm out in BC so that's a no go for me haha. It looks really good so far. Please make sure you include a lock down padlock for those gas tanks. I never trust scavengers and want to make it hard for anyone trying to jack my stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Auto or manual trans? I heard the same thing too and I'm knocking on wood as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I got aggressive soft tread tires and getting 16-18 mpg with tune up. Have not install locking hubs. The guys have touched on all the points so you should not have any issues there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Why synth blend for your 98? And yeah, Mobil 1 is what I use but I think I might switch to castrol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks for the write up! I am noticing that my pathfinder is not starting up right away like it normally used to so I'm waiting for the starter to crap out. Hope the rest of the move went well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. It should not be an issue. I have seen diesel swap done in suzukis from vw tdis. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
