  1. I like the idea of just attaching to the valve cover screws.I am having the same issue's on my 95.
  2. Ok I understand B and a hardbody it does need to be what I call double grounded to frame and body for electrical to be happy.I really appreciate all the imput as I am not as good with electric's.Thanks again,Jack.
  3. Wow thanks man well I can do the heavy gauge wire with the I loops. But can the neg. battery be just one long one or does it have to be split like it is and bolted to the wheel well slash / fender I caused this my self I went to unbolt it and even with pb blaster it snapped off.I have a small bolt, washer and nut on it now but wondering if it is doing the same job as stock set up.Am I over thinking this? Jack.
  4. Hey guys I recently took off heat shields to look at the condition of my manifold bolts and there are these ground wires but not round wires they are flat and connect to the heat shield bolts both of which broke off upon loosening.I can live without the heat shields it really doesnt get that hot but how important are those grounds one on both side's of motor. And whats with the black negative battery cable its two pieces that are split with a portion bolted to the wheel well cause that bolt is also broken off.Can I buy one long black NEG. cable or is that separation a must have type of deal??? I know so many questions I really feel dumb at this point. But any and all response's welcome.
  5. Yeah if it feels right do it I wouldn't leave my pathy behind always a way around paperwork.I'm sure you will get it sorted out like dave said check with dmv and or insurance.

    Brake lines

Yea I have seen everything from steel braided line to stainless steel which never rust's but whose got that kind of money I sure dont .Flex hose sounds best I had to replace my fords a few years back.
  7. Hey anybody I have a question and I hope it does not sound to stupid. But remember though I have owned many cars and trucks in my lifetime this is my first 4x4.Here goes should I install a steering damper my 1995 LE pathfinder did not come with one but I am seeing a damper in the Chilton's Manual.I dont off road a lot mostly street and highway. What's the verdict folk's?
  8. I also own a 95 pathy the bolts on the cover under rear carpet are 10mm spray with pd blaster and removal should be easy.Same with the bolts holding gas tank and gas tank cover lots of pb blaster or some penetrant I to broke bolts off removing mine.Pathfinders have a welded seam that with time tends to spring a pin hole leak.Mine was on passenger side underside of gas tank.I first tried JB weld but it didnt take what worked was the two part gas tank epoxy sealer. Two years and still going strong and leak free. But also new tanks are around $100.00 bucks which ever you feel more comfortable with some people are funny about gasoline tanks.Good luck and keep us posted.
  9. Always good to hear useful info on nissan pathfinders I have a 95 myself and you can be sure I am going to check mine out for this trouble spot BIG THANK'S R F 600
  10. I had a similar problem that a npora member helped me sort out.My number 5 cylinder injector was bad thats the one on the passenger side far back near the firewall so luckily I did not have to pull the intake off.I researched this and kept being told that the fuel injectors where color coded and that you had to use all the same color mine where blue dot's they come black and grey ect....Was able to aquire a good blue dot injector and the rest is history.I also had a code 51 before hand.this fixed the problem.I had also checked the fuel injectors I could reach with a multimeter and got like 12 ohm's on all but the bad one was registering a 30 ohm reading way off.Brand new fuel injectors will run $100.00 or more so a junk yard may be your best bet. Here in IOWA pathfinders were hard to find at all the junk yards and I went to all of them in my area ( QUAD CITY ) It made me think Damm these little trucks must run pretty great if you can't even find them in a junk yard.I don't know how readily available they are up north where you are but you can multi meter test them on the spot. They should run around 12 ohms more or less and other people have since told me that the color doesnt matter but mine are all the same so I cant really dispute that fact you may hear otherwise like I said I had to do a lot of research on the matter.Putting them in is the easy part.Good Luck,jack....
  11. Hey I like it a little shorty it works and thats all that matter's.Nice fabrication.
  12. Don't expect great mpg from a pathfinder just love it for what it does do.Thats why we buy them right.
  13. 5 I need to mig weld some eighth inch steel plate onto the rear frame.Where the worst rust lives.Remember rust never sleeps.
  14. Man that sucks but hang in there maybe the police will recover it for you. That is what our taxes pay law enforcement for.
  15. Actually from what I've read you can drill them out and then grease and press them in.Rubber bushings are longer lasting then the poly one's which everyone says are to stiff.I myself need to replace upper and lower bushings but they can be a little pricey $$$$.
  16. Yea, changed mine today and drained 4 quarts out then replaced with same amount running fine so far.I must have done something right.Next project will be the trans cooler and inline filter. And changing out the transfer case and front and rear differentials.
  17. Man O man you guys are great ! I am going to drain and replace trans fluid this weekend, Will measure exactly what comes out and refill same amount. Thanks a bunch.....Jack.
  18. My 95 pathfinder has an automatic transmission. And on the bottom of the transmission pan is what looks like a drain bolt like you see on the oil pan.Is this normal for draining tran's fluid as I thought you had to drop the entire pan to change the trans fluid. If I unscrew it will it screw back on tight? I am afraid to even touch it.Could it have been installed at one of those ten minute oil changing shops that also do trans fluid? Or does anybody know if this is a stock thing.
  19. Yes,now I know one more reason to save up for some doug thorley headers.
  20. I really like the street sign repair.Simple yet effective
  21. Hey all check this out I was smelling something in my 95 pathfinder while driving. So when I got home I investigated and found my driverside rubber floor mat was slightly melted.Lifted it up and sure enough the carpet was smouldering.I doused it with a little water.Crawled underneath to find where the exhaust manifold pipe goes into the cat was getting so hot.And there was a rusty hole around the size of a quarter in the floor that it actuly caught the underside carpet ablaze well almost you and I all know carpet usually melts down first. But still not good to say the least.I put a heat shield on the pipe and repaired floor board with new metal so all is well just thought I would send out a heads up to all.
  22. Hey guys, going to junk yard and going to pick up a trans-cooler from a ford explorer. My question is how do I bypass the stock nissan cooler there are two lines top line is the trans fluid feed and the bottom one is the return. When you hook up the trans cooler what happens to the open holes on stock cooler? Do you then have to plug them some how.I am going to get an inline filter as has been recomended.I ask this cause have been told you can just use the intercooler and stop using the stock cooler all together.Any suggestions welcome.Big THANKS Jack in sleepy IOWA.
  23. Yea, What B said I picked up a 95 pathy for 1500 from my sister in law so I know its history and it had 140,000 miles on it so low milage is a plus.
  24. Hey just name the time and the place I will be there ,would love to wheel with some locals. If there are any here in IOWA.
