  1. Sweet, one nice set up.You sir know what you are talking about.
  2. I owned several yamahas a tt 500 with a light kit and the xt on road off road.I always liked the kawasaki 500's cause they came with an electric start. The honda 500 had a nice exhaust and shifting was way smoother.I found the yamaha 600xt to be a little to heavy in the dirt.I would myself go with a yam 400 monoshock.I rode a friends and it flew.Light and fast. But Ive been on 250's that could do ninety miles an hour. Now that could be strapped right on the back of a pathy.
  3. Actually from what I've read you can drill them out and then grease and press them in.Rubber bushings are longer lasting then the poly one's which everyone says are to stiff.I myself need to replace upper and lower bushings but they can be a little pricey $$$$.
  4. Arizona, right ? not near there but have been to meza have relative living there this is great site will help out with any questions you may have concerning pathfinders.Welcome aboard, jack in IOWA.
  5. Yea, changed mine today and drained 4 quarts out then replaced with same amount running fine so far.I must have done something right.Next project will be the trans cooler and inline filter. And changing out the transfer case and front and rear differentials.
  6. Man O man you guys are great ! I am going to drain and replace trans fluid this weekend, Will measure exactly what comes out and refill same amount. Thanks a bunch.....Jack.
  7. My 95 pathfinder has an automatic transmission. And on the bottom of the transmission pan is what looks like a drain bolt like you see on the oil pan.Is this normal for draining tran's fluid as I thought you had to drop the entire pan to change the trans fluid. If I unscrew it will it screw back on tight? I am afraid to even touch it.Could it have been installed at one of those ten minute oil changing shops that also do trans fluid? Or does anybody know if this is a stock thing.
  8. Yes,now I know one more reason to save up for some doug thorley headers.
  9. I really like the street sign repair.Simple yet effective
  10. Hey all check this out I was smelling something in my 95 pathfinder while driving. So when I got home I investigated and found my driverside rubber floor mat was slightly melted.Lifted it up and sure enough the carpet was smouldering.I doused it with a little water.Crawled underneath to find where the exhaust manifold pipe goes into the cat was getting so hot.And there was a rusty hole around the size of a quarter in the floor that it actuly caught the underside carpet ablaze well almost you and I all know carpet usually melts down first. But still not good to say the least.I put a heat shield on the pipe and repaired floor board with new metal so all is well just thought I would send out a heads up to all.
  11. Hey guys, going to junk yard and going to pick up a trans-cooler from a ford explorer. My question is how do I bypass the stock nissan cooler there are two lines top line is the trans fluid feed and the bottom one is the return. When you hook up the trans cooler what happens to the open holes on stock cooler? Do you then have to plug them some how.I am going to get an inline filter as has been recomended.I ask this cause have been told you can just use the intercooler and stop using the stock cooler all together.Any suggestions welcome.Big THANKS Jack in sleepy IOWA.
  12. HAPPY,HAPPY,HAPY,HAPI,HAP,E, BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I was at a quarry once walking through thick mud and yes you can easily get stuck it has a suction effect I was wearing converse hightop tennis shoes and went home with only one shoe the other shoe is probly in china by now.
  14. Yea, What B said I picked up a 95 pathy for 1500 from my sister in law so I know its history and it had 140,000 miles on it so low milage is a plus.
  15. Wow way to secure cargo on a icy rolling ships deck.
  16. Hey just name the time and the place I will be there ,would love to wheel with some locals. If there are any here in IOWA.
  17. Man O Man I just changed out my stock horns to gm horns and now instead of roadrunner Beep,Beep! I've got HONK! HONK!!! Also cleaned up the wires and metal plate that covers the fuel pump and removed the heat shields covering the manifold so I could check manifold bolts and yea found one bolt broken so may just get all 12 bolts and replace them with the 300zx bolts which are stronger than stock sounds like a project but you and I all know thats life. And as the late great Jerry Garcia said gotta keep on trucking.
  18. Front, always the front. But remember it's best to replace tire's in set of four.
  19. Me too, shocked that is no rust is always a good thing. The old saying is rust never sleeps and pathfinders sure have thier fair share of it. THANKS FOR THE REPLY I am not going to worry about it and go a head and check out manifold bolt's. Have a slight ticking at start up that go's away when warmed up.
  20. Thank you B. I surmized as much but just wanted to be sure. Not much heat coming off manifold and plug wires are to high to be a problem and nothing else is to close so yea you are so right. Thank's Again, john.
  21. Question how important is the shield do you have to have it on? When you install headers do they come with shields.I was trying to take left side off but even with pb blaster I snapped one bolt off so I stopped the bolts are so rusty I am afraid if I continue I will just snap all the rest.I really wanted to check the manifold bolts to see if any need replacing. Can I run it with no heat shields? HELP IN IOWA UNSURE.
  22. Hey,does anyone know about replacing all the rear bushings? My 95 pathy is starting to make klunking and knocking noise's from rear I already put new rear shocks and the rear end has been drained and refilled so I'm guessing bushing's.
  23. Tightened my valve cover screws they were so loose I could almost turn them by hand .Wasnt leaking oil but they needed tighting.Philpshead screws? there has got to be a better way to fasten valve covers think I will change them out to allen head screws.
