1. Its hard enough finding that color, even HARDER finding one with that straight of bumpers, especially the chrome ones. Nice find That color looks great with black accessories as well. Check out Fisher dude's pathfinder, he has the exact same color, probably some good inspiration there. Welcome back!
2. So my floor mats ARE BEAT TO DEATH. and i really want to find another pair of OEM ones, however that is looking impossible. But in the midst of my research i have noticed that face lifted gen of pathfinder mats are readily available. Does anyone have the possibility to show me the difference between the 96-00 and 01-04 mats? I just want to see the difference before i see how different they are. Thanks -Kyle
3. Well i was able to get a video posted. Sorry for the shortness, and it may not be the right way up, (should be though) and TERRBILE audio, sub was turned all the way down, still sounds like a night club. probably because it was on my phone. But context is i was going down a hill with the clutch pressed in, and it did the bouncing the WHOLE way down.
4. So i checked the wheel today, and they are solid however, the drivers side when spun has a fair amount of resistance to it, not so much that you can spin the wheel (of course) but it comes to a stop very quickly. Probably new bearing it sounds like? any other ideas?
5. Is there anyway of diagnosing that for sure? I was able to get a video of what's going on, hopefully that will help, but it will have to wait for a few hours till I get home.
6. Alright ill do that before i get my new wheels mounted. No, that's the strange part, i have no warning lights of any kind, not that im complaining, (who doesn't like turning their car on to find you live in a gremlin free neighborhood ) but in this case i wish their was one, because it sure would make life easier. lol
7. So recently i have noticed a very strange issue with my pathfinder. When i first start it up it does its normal start up procedure of revving just under 2k and its suppose to calm itself down once its warmed up. But what has been happening is it will sit at the 2k idle when i depress the clutch, and say the engine is at 1600rpm coming up to a corner, and I depress the clutch, it shoots up to just under 2k. It doesn't really affect general usability but i think my MPG has taken a small hit (but i think it my driving habits, which changed right around when i noticed the change) and my shifts are not a smooth as they once were. the thinking is the engine has a minor mind of its own between shifts. One day while having the clutch depressed going down hill, i had the idle bouncing between 1400ish and 1950, going down hill with no load on the engine. Im thinking Throttle Position Sensor, but could it be something else, i can try and get a video hopefully describing the issue im having clearer than i can. Also, after taking the old girl out for a little trail bashing i developed a small whine that is only audible from 20-36ish mph and then you cant hear it, so its speed dependent not RPM that i initially thought was coming from the transmission, but after further inspection i found nothing indicating a hit on the lower chassis braces. a friend suggested that it might be a wheel bearing and that due to the rattling from the trail, it could have just finally let go. I just hit 125K Thoughts? Thanks for the help. -Kyle
8. Well i got it fixed, turns out i just needed more. Thanks for the help guys, alot of good info. -Kyle
9. No i didn't try that, it says to move it from side to side everything 3 seconds or so, so i guess ill try that, but payday is tomorrow so ill pick up a new can on friday if i need it. 90lbs is what i should see????? DAMN!!! i had no idea. looks like i had it all wrong. Thanks for the help guys. ill let you know what i find. -Kyle
10. So whilst doing my timing belt, the yahoo A**hole who was helping me with it said i should disconnect the low pressure A/C line running in front of the timing cover. "Yeah, just get a can r-134A, it will charge right up" yeah, well me not knowing any better at the time drained it and, well one can wasn't enough, atleast i dont think it was... So i buy a medium size of R-134a with a pressure gauge, and attempt to fill it up. I get some good news, i put enough in to trigger the A/C compressor, but it blows nothing close to cold, its not hot, but not what its suppose to be. What i think is happening, is the can and the system are equalizing in pressure, because i can still feel something in the can. but the needle on the pressure system never makes its way past 33PSI ish. So im asking what to do. should i take it in and have a pro pressure test it or just bit the bullet and get another can and try again? Let me know what you think guys. Thanks -Kyle
11. So this is thread dedicated to everything about deals, since we all hate paying retail, And just to make the rules a little easier, it doesn't have to be for the pathfinder, but car related (because its in the general talk) Ill start, Buddy and I were really bored so were looking across the all mighty craigslist, and stumbled across a brush guard for his Durango, with 80W Hellas. Whole kit would retail for about $500 bucks. Scored the whole deal for $100!!! here is a pic of the deal after about 6 hours of sanding and a few fresh coats of paint. I wanna see some serious deals!! -Kyle
12. Ahhh YEAH!!!!! What exactly is the top one? it looks like spring cup? does it just hold the spring firmer on the axle or does it give some more lift? And for the trailing arms, will be seeing upper and lower at the same time or just lower or vice versa? and are they longer or just stronger than stock to prevent bending? (im assuming the latter of course, lol) But everything is looking solid!!! Cant want to get some funds for a skid plate and trailing arms. -Kyle
13. hahaha thanks man. Four try's at a timing belt change i guess is how i know that. @ OP, its fun working on these things, they are so painfully simple if you have a basic understanding of how an engine works. But my first suggestion would be download the service manuals if you haven't already, i practically live on those things, have them all saved on my phone, and at my buddies "Shop" computer, saved my truck more than once. -Kyle
14. Definitely going to pay attention to this ride. You and I have the exact same color and bumper scheme, black on black!!! This is only making more giddy to want to lift mine!!!
15. That is the cruise control cable holder, its mounted just about the top puller tensioner, its not "necessarily" needed, but i would put it back on just to keep that cable out of the way. But i just did my gaskets awhile ago as well, basically took off the entire engine harness, but like devon said, make sure everything is plug in correctly (every plug on the part of the harness only plugs into its identical female plug, no two plugs are the same, which makes things very easy) and after you have done that, make sure that they are ALL the way plug in. Mine wouldn't turn over on first start because an injector wasn't fully snapped into place. Don't be afraid to dive in, its very simple when you look at it. Let us know if anything new develops. -Kyle
16. Im bumping this thread, with the request of a video... Please and thank you!! -Kyle
17. What about for clutch flushing, im going to a fluid overhaul this summer and i think im set on what to get for the diffs, trans, brake, and PS, but im not sure what to do for clutch, anyone have some suggestions?
18. So its FINALLY FIXED and oh baby did my miss my POWER!!!! and it turns out i was right, was off just one tooth from the cranks to the cam. But she runs good, nice an strong, had a small problem with coolant leaking, but managed to get that fixed, hopefully that stays away. had to get pretty creative to get the balancer off, but it came off incredibly easy and everything is running great!!! Im so happy, but i think im gonna take it down to the local shop and just give them diagnostic and give me a new list of parts to fix. Thanks again for all of the generous help, so now i can stop annoying the pants off everyone here. -Kyle
19. So I just ordered a new balancer off rockauto, couldn't find anything I could trust at the junkyard, they all had a good hold, free of slop, but the rubber was cracking on all of them. Wasn't going to risk a balancer through the hood, lol But going back to getting the balancer off, I'm gonna rent that huge puller from Oriellies see if that does it with a combination of a few other things, anything I should avoid? Obviously I don't wanna pry on the dust cover, or pry at all unless I have to. I'm going to remove the radiator to give myself as much as possible. Anything else worth mentioning? It seems pretty straight forward, just time consuming. -Kyle
