I am going to upgrade suspension and I need an advice
Darek replied to Darek's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I replaced the shocks on friday. It took me about 1,5 hour and it was super easy. Now the ride is fantastic, no more rear jumping, no more sagging. Previously the rear was sagging even when I put only one leg on the hitch. Now I can stand with both legs on the hitch and the rear won't sag So thank you guys for all suggestions and help. I also bought front struts but I am taking it to a shop to replace it. Finally, I think I don't need new springs as there is no more sagging. -
Is there any description how to remove drums and adjust rear breakes?

I almost decided to replace shocks first and if rear is still jumping then to replace springs. I am reading FSM and it is written that shock bolts sholud be replaced too. Are they reguar bolts or something special and should be bought at dealer? -

Thank you guys for all responses. I prefere safety first and smooth ride as I have 4-month old daughter and I don't want her to be shaken too much in the car I can see that you don't like the Ironman springs, but what are the alternatives? OME is too expensive for me. Bluewulf73 suggest to stay with stock springs, but do you mean a new stock springs old my old ones? -

I dont't like this rake effect. So I think I could buy Ironman springs for front and rear and KYB shocks for rear. What kind of strut should i take for front? Will these spprings be safe for Cv joint and what about top-out issue? Are there any KYB springs for R50, because my mechanic proposed me KYB springs and I can't find it at KYB cataloge. -
I think that I should change rear suspension because of following reasons: - rear is sagging (getting down) when trunk is loaded or even one person is sitting in the back - rear jumps and shakes on bumpy roads - when trunk is loaded and someone is sitting in the back then it jumps very hard, with strong plunk (clunk?) sound. It is so hard that the person at the back can hit ceiling with his head. - shocks are fully rusted. Do I have to install both new shocks and springs or just shocks? I can buy pair of KYB Gas a Just shocks 553303 for about 170$ and pair of Ironman springs NISS034B for about 163$. Maybe you can advice me other manufacturers. I am going to drive this car for about 5 years more and I am not planning any serious off-roading, just adventure trails and some camping. Second question is if I should do it by myself or take it to a shop?

Thank you guys for your opinions

Recently I made a custom cargo barrier. It was cut and welded from a rectangle grate. And I have something special. My wife sewed for me a cargo cover. It purpose is to protect trunk from dirt when driving in off-road conditions with muddy rope or damaged wheel Here is trunk loaded for one week vacations.

Ok, thank you guys for opinions. I suppose there is nothing serious. I will take care about those rust spots and additional cover for oil pan. As for fuel filter it has only one year and probably it is dirty jus outside.

Yesterday I rotated my tires and I took some pictures. I am not familiar with mechanics so please let me know if there is something I should worry about. I think that element in red was hit and it is rusted. Isn't there too much of rust? I was punching it with hammer and the metal is hard, no holes. Maybe it need only some protective paint. Left brakes - how long can I use it yet? I greased the drive shaft and and grease started to come out from other side. Is it normal? Right brakes

Hi guys. I am going to rotate tires today. I have a stock jack and two safety stands. Can I lift it with stock jack placed under center front and center rear garage jack points as on picture above? Won't the vehicle incline on side?

It is a stupidity. Here is a polish video, they are showing what may happen when a cinetic rope is badly used. Pathfinder is being beaten from 4:10

How to apply grease for front wheel bearing?
Darek replied to Darek's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Thank you for this information. I think that I will do it later this year when I'll be replacing breakes. He used a special wrench on 5:30 in the video. What is its size/diameter? -
I am going to rotate my tires this week. I thought that I could also grease front wheel bearing according to MA-30. But I don't understand what should be greased. Could you help with some pictures?

I am going to buy a battery charger because the battery in my wife's car is very weak. I want the charger to be compatibile with the battery in my Pathfinder. As far as I know a charger compatibility depends from battery ampere-hours (Ah). I have the Napa Legend 75 Months battery. From the sticker I can read: 24 BCI, 820 CA, 650 CCA. There is no model number neither Ah value. Do you know how many Ah could it has?

It looks very professional. I am waiting for other pictures.

Photos from the first page are missing. Could someone post new photos?

What is that UV layer?

Can you post a photo of your front bumper when it is clean? My bumpers need some paint due to cracks and I might do something similar.
