  1. That should be pretty cool. I've seen one around my parts that was jacked to the sky...not really what you want for an Overlander but still shows there is a big aftermarket for the truck. If passenger seating is that important then I should have said Pathfinder Armada instead of the Xterra. I've seen some pretty nice Overlander ready builds on that platform.
  2. Sounds to me it might be your MAF is on its last legs. Mine was doing similar things before it totally died and the truck would not start. It could also just be a problem with the connection wires to the MAF.
  3. While you are at it...change the Coolant Temperature Sensor...really inexpensive and you will notice an improvement in performance.
  4. Glad the more mechanically minded people here chimed in above. Sure it is possible but it will be difficult to make your money back by selling off the parts you don't need from your donors. Good choice with going with Nissan for your Overlander project, you can find them much cheaper than any Toyota or Jeep. I would sell your 2WD and look for an Off Road model Xterra '05-'08 and build off that. There are many more after market products for the Xterra than the Pathfinder suited to your build objective. The Off Road model (later Pro4X) already comes with a locking rear diff etc.
  5. The Safari WD21 came with a little plate by the transfer case that showed you the edition number. Can't recall how many they produced of this edition. There is a member here from Alberta that has one that can chime in to clarify. The Warren Miller one was just stickers and a ski rack. It also only came with the cloth interior. That one was a pure marketing play to boost sales for '94.
  6. In Canada we had a Safari Edition and Warren Miller Edition that I know of.
  7. Welcome to the Club. I think he is referring to your German plate on the front with Philippines Flag insert Looks like its in great shape...take care of it...seems like you could use some mud flaps to protect your body and prevent taking out wind-shields of vehicles behind you.
  8. Yup...I love that colour Green. I've been looking online in BC for another clean one...this time a 5 speed. All the other WD21's I've had in my lifetime were manual and I miss not being able to shift gears when I want to. I got lucky after years of looking for one without frame damage. The person that owned mine had so much rust proofing on it that it kept it together. I clean my frame once a year to make sure the truck will last.
  9. Welcome to the Club! Nice to have some other members from the province. I have to say that is quite the collection of vehicles. I'll have to see them some day.
  10. I agree with you...there are so many amazing deals that pop up in your neck of the woods I would just be patient. Too bad you missed one last week...it was an '94 SE super clean manual with 180kms and loaded with options and was a motivated seller. The last time I saw it listed it was down to $1000...that one would have been a score.
  11. Ha...I was just looking at that one. BC is the only place that seems to have clean trucks. I would check out the frame on that one. When I blew up the pics the rear seems suspicious for frame rot. Transmission is cheap in my neck of the woods...you can find a replacement for around $300.
  12. Oddly enough the same thing happened to me. When I was forced to park on a downhill overnight I had a hard time getting it to start. A few months later it started acting up more when it got warmer out. Finally it just would not start. I changed the starter relay and still nothing. Checked my codes and nothing. Finally tried replacing my MAF and bingo.
  13. Interesting...just wondering how you are going to charge your phone now that you took away the outlet.
  14. I just had mine fixed a little while ago. Ended up being the condenser was finished/leaking and needed to be replaced. Replaced it and got it filled up and now blows cold. I would have it checked out and get a few quotes to have it done. A/C systems are pretty hazardous to deal with.
  15. That seems strange...there was no lock release as far as I know on any of the WD21s. Give it a shot of WD40 and bring a set of pliers. My guess is it might be rusted in there or the previous owner or a worker there jammed it in good.
  16. Welcome...we need more V8 Pathfinders on the forum. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Cheers
  17. Why not just buy a 2001 Pathfinder, since you like that one and are still shopping around. I check the online listings very often and you are more likely to find an R50 in good condition than a QX4. I see R50s for amazing prices with very low kms everyday. They are exactly the same vehicle except for the QX4 having HID lights.
  18. Those LED light bars are really impressive. I know a few guys that have them and they are better than HID in my opinion. I'm pretty sure you could mount one up right to the bumper and be done with it.
  19. You would have to make your own. It would cost about $200 in parts for two projectors and the HID lights/harness etc. I can't remember who made their own here but its the only proper way to get HID lights to be effective. Check around with the search function here I'm sure you will find it. This topic has come up more than a few times. Your second option is to change the grill to a Hardbody pickup one and then you will be able to install a set of after market LEDs that will fit right in...think they are H1 or H2 type lights. The third and easiest option is get a combo LED light bar. That way you can use the fogs for city driving to give the stock lights extra help. I have a set of Hella 500s for the country roads that put out more than enough light to see what's around me.
  20. Welcome to the club...looking forward to seeing more pics from your neck of the woods..err...desert.
  21. Just was searching for a bit and the best bang for your buck for towing is an '02-'04 Pathfinder. I can't believe how cheap they are at least in my area.
  22. That is ridiculous. Well the US dollar is doing well. Come and pick one up in Quebec and bring it back. Check out kijiji.ca and see for yourself. R50's are a dime a dozen in Montreal and we have plenty of Xterra(s). I've been tempted a few times. Back in 2010 you could get an '05 Xterra for between $8-15 in very good condition and low km(s). Now I can find them for between $5-$9 depending on condition.
  23. If you are looking to pull things then I would go with then next generation Xterra '05-08 to stay in your price range. They have dropped in price a lot at least in my neck of the woods and they are way stronger. I had an '05 and it would tow like a champ.
  24. Ah nice...Aluminium bumper...much nicer than the one's we got in North America. Someone with Winch experience will have to chime in on this one but I would imagine it would need to be anchored some way to the frame. With your new MT's and some tow straps and a few friends you should be good for what Australia throws at you. Since you are in the land of ARB I would check the scrappers or Gumtree for used ARB bumpers with the built in winch mount.
  25. The computer you can cover with plastic and tape it up to waterproof it for next time you go into the bog. Some nice MT tyres would be my first investment...lol. Really cool bumper...does it already have a spot for a winch?
