  1. I've found that to not be true at all. The auto hubs require forward momentum once you put it in 4wd for them to engage. If your stuck on a icy hill and not able to gain traction( i.e. stuck or sliding backwards some) if you put it in 4wd your front wheels will never be able to lock unless your able to move forward some where as manual hubs are ready to go. It says in the owners manual it can take up to 3 ft for the front auto hubs to engage. For a quick example i can take my wife's bone stock wd21 pathfinder with auto hubs on the lift and put it in 4wd the front wheels wont spin unless i rotate the front wheel forward and it will engage.
  2. Raised my rear bumper up to match the front after installing my 3" BL and also install and new rear license plate bracket so the plate doesnt hang down at all like the factory one did.
  3. I'm sure more will chime in but sadly it sounds like the transmission is toast no reverse is one of the main things that go our first. The factory transmission cooler is horrible and can also clog easily starving the tranny. I had mine replace about 15k ago with same issue no revers and installed a nice aftermarket tranny cooler so it doesnt happen again.
  4. Very true the horrible down fall of Auto Hubs. If your on a icy hill and put it on 4wd to get up the hubs will not engage. Also i hope if people are on this forum they know not to use 4lo on hard surface like concrete it should be a given.
  5. Also the sport/ comfort(touring) switch changes the shock firmness most of the pathfinder that had it stock have probally had it replaced with regular shocks by now unless it was serviced at a dealer. To check look at your front shocks and see if there is a electrical plug going to the top of it.
  6. I really don't think your transmission is going out at all. My bet would be the Auto hubs mine did the same thing when they went out and i replaced them with manual hubs and never had a problem since. Now a quick way to test to see if your transfer case is working is to put it in 4lo and drive around slowly your engine will rev quick while moving slower you will be able to tell the difference. If thats working then your auto hubs probally aren't locking.
  7. I would love if someone would be able to do a how to on installing the M30 ecu into the pathy. We have about 6 M30's total in the u pull its around here that all still have ecu if anyone has a hard problem finding them.
  8. I've got a 88 300 zx turbo and for some reason i love the orange gauges i know some hate it but i dont mind it. Just wondering has anyone swap and older 87-89 pathfinder gauge cluster into a newer 90-92 pathy. Just wonder if everything will hook up if so i might just grab one from the junkyard and give it a go.
  9. DO you know by any chance what backspacing the frontier wheels were and also what tire size do you have right now. Looking for some factory nissan wheels that will stick out far enough to clear my 32"s xterra wheels wont work since they sit in to far.
  10. Also a 15 gallon tank is just horrible for pathfinders in my opinion since for me that removes about 80 miles that i can go.
  11. We picked a tank from a 95 pathfinder just because it was the last year of the wd21 pathfinder but all of the years there didn't look bad. Took about 10 mins to remove the tank from the junkyard pathfinder. Remember that under the carpet in the cargo area there is a trap door that can be removed really quick to allow easy access to the fuel pump assembly so we just cut the lines and dropped the tank and off we went. When we got home we just filled it with water and check for leaks and then drained it and wiped it down and spray painted it black and re installed it. Looks good as new and 21 gallons at the u pick it here junkyard the tank was $30 so saved him about $300.
  12. Looks like Courtesy parts still sells the 21 gallon tank put it's going for $350.
  13. Did another quick look to see if anything new came up since we did replace it last year and same results sadly. Dorman and Spectra make about 95% of the aftermarket gas tanks that auto parts stores can carry and both of them still only sell the 15 gal one.
  14. When i was helping my buddy search for one for his pathy do to a offroad rock incident we could not find a factory 21 gallon one to save our lifes. Every parts store and gas tank place we found on the web all showed they only make 15 gallon ones for the pathy now. In the end we had to go to the junkyard and get a used tank and then had it pressure checked and then repainted it and good to go.
  15. Hmm so it replaces the ball joints with bolts? does it work alot better then the stock style.
  16. Hello, I've got a quick question does anyone know whats the difference in centerlinks before 08/92 build date and after. I'm going to replace my center link but every parts store i have gone to ask if my vehicle was build before or after 08/92 and mine was build before and no one has it they all carry the one build after but not before that build date. I've went on rock auto and they also show different parts numbers depending on build date but i see no difference in actual part. Also the price difference is almost double for the before 08/92 there around $160 for the ones built after there $86 Just wondering if anyone one knows there difference.
  17. Yeah Nebraska has no Emission laws or any really as long as it has lights and a windshield congrats lol so its pretty easy to get a vehicle over here from over sea's. Also the military makes all the paper work easy to ship things to the states lol i wish he would have picked up another for me.
  18. Hello, I've got a buddy coming back home to my squadron after being stationed over sea's for that past 3 year and he's asking me some question about the vehicle he brought back home asking if we would be able to use the Hardbody 3" on his vehicle. It's a 1994 Nissan Sani 4x4 with a 2.7td engine. From what i've read its a frankstein vehicle nissan made. it's a Long bed Hardbody converted into a pathfinder ish vehicle just with a bigger cargo area. Just wondering if anybody has any info on these things since i've never heard of them. I'm pretty sure i can have just get the harbody lift and be good to go but not sure. Here's a sample pic of what they are.
  19. Well i got called away for a quick TDY so just got back today to work on getting the bumper on. Sadly i have to say the bumper took longer to get on then installing the rest of the body lift lol. total time for everything was just alittle of 4 hours to do the whole body lift. But i do have a 4 post lift at my house making lifting the body cake. so add more time if i had to use a jack.
  20. Well i actually got a email back from Performance Accessories Customer support it a few hours after sending so not bad really. He didn't send me any pics but did tell me that i had the right idea here is what he said. The relocation is quite easy: the brackets that came with the kit have two holes, 1 to bolt on the frame and 1 to bolt on the bumper bracket itself. The kit's brackets should end up at a average of 90 deg angle with the frame to put your bumper 3" higher. Pics would have still be great but i will take what i can get lol.
  21. Same i would like to see a pic or at least what year it came from guessing it's from a 1990 or new but checking.
