  1. That shop seems a little shady to me. That being said, I have removed both my hood insulation and my splash guard under the engine bay. I have yet to see any blistering or heat fade on my factory paint job. I would deff point out the replaced broken bug sheild ... those things are pretty pricey!
  2. Correct. I recall reading some where that it has something to do with the speed sensor.
  3. This happened to me with my first car ('89 Geo Metro) while I was driving at night. I'm humming along and all of the sudden it was like someone pulled "the cord". I had no lights or radio and the engine shut off all at once. It turned out to be one of the main fuses (40 amp IIRC) and never happened again. To this day I blame my custom stereo for that event. You may want to check for a blown fuse under the hood close to the battery. Like 1994SEV6 said, it should take all of thirty seconds to check for it.
  4. Mine don't have that problem ( mom would be proud of my grammar ... and math as I meant to say 180 degrees). Sheesh!
  5. Odd. My lower shock mounts are mounted 90 degrees from yours (1999.5) and have no spacing for the shocks to "wiggle". I too am running the RS5000's.
  6. You may want to insert a lens cleaning cd. Could just be 7 years of dust accumulation.
  7. My R50 is now known amongst my wheeling friends as "La Blanca VaJay-jay" because of my history of mucking up the engine and bending tie rods. FML!
  8. As for your temp issue, the first thing that I'd check would be the temp probe wire connection at the probe its self.
  9. First time .. one full day. Second time .. four hours.
  10. What gives? I had the timing jump on my belt AND had the replacement snap in half ( my own fault for not replacing the tensioner pulley) with out eating any valves on my VG33E.
  11. You will want to mark the struts well so that you can put it all back together close enough hat you won't need an alignment.
  12. I stand corrected. +/- 2 degrees. These are the bolts that I am using. Thanks Stabby!
  13. I did get the camber bolts. Installed two on each side to correct the "bulldog" look. Some members here don't run the camber kit.
  14. Is the camber kit (bolts I assume?) mounted correctly? They can be used for positive or negative camber +\- 4 degrees IIRC.
  15. They are at an extreme angle but, again, with the addition of the manual hubs the CV's are not in motion on a daily basis. I have yet to notice any problems with my 160k+ CV axels.
  16. My R50 has the sensor located just behind the lower part of the front bumper. Hope that helps you?
  17. This was my case the first time I went into the timing chamber ("mud sick" thread). I neglected to change out the tensioner pulley which resulted in tearing my TB in half. After dodging the bullit TWICE I made sure to replace everything! I once heard a guy say, "If you don't learn from your mistakes, why make them?"
  18. I bought my Nx4's from a member here. Try googling "nx4 industries".
