  1. Maybe someone was just trying to steal your shxt or taking revenge for something.
  2. I'm not surprised it threw a CEL at 145,000 klicks. Cars don't work perfectly forever...
  3. If you have a junkyard nearby, a Ford Exploder trans cooler is generic as you can get and works fine. I got mine for $5 each. There are two sizes they used, though...get the larger one that's 7.5"x 11.5" or so. $4 worth of hose, some hose clamps and a mounting kit for $7(or just use zipties) and the whole thing's done.

    Just bought

You're going to have to look it over yourself, I think. A tune-up would also be the logical place to start.
  5. I wasn't being offended or mad, I was just telling you what I know about those things. Good for you if the gas mileage stays up there!
  6. I've heard of people replacing it, I guess it's just a PITA...delicate parts and all...
  7. Con-Ferr racks screw directly to the roof. You don't need additional roof reinforcement to put one on, stock racks only hold 80 lbs anyway. Plus, the mounting feet for most baskets are on the outside edges of the roof, which is where they'll take the most weight anyway. I have a Yakima rack setup that clamps onto the roof above the door. Pathfinders don't come with rain gutters. I can rock the whole truck back and forth with it, it's not a wussy rack.
  8. Oops, I read the subject and not all the text. What kinda crap is this? Trying to use only Nissan parts is ridiculous. They don't make enough HD parts to support my needs. It'd be a nit-picking festival and every part would damn near need to be custom or modified. I stand by my choices, and it would STILL be a Pathfinder. Just one with different parts on it.
  9. An electric fan will work well, but the belt-driven fan will cool better, particularly at lower speeds. You choose.
  10. 8 or 10 gauge would be fine for charging a battery with no current draw on it, as long as it has a charge to begin with. I have three batteries in my van running off the stock alternator and it has yet to complain. Another note: you'll need a ground wire for the trailer too. Trying to charge a battery with the only ground being through the frame of the trailer attached to the hitch isn't a good way to do it. It'll need a separate ground wire to match the charging wire.
  11. Put an external trans fluid cooler on it as well, the stock coolers clog up and kill transmissions. Bypass the stock cooler totally and don't use it.
  12. Good Lord, did you really fall for that scam? Those do NOT work. Anything you put into your intake tract that restricts airflow will only hurt your cause. I'd wait a while and make sure your mileage stays the same. 3MPG can be a total fluke depending on how you drive, the outside air temp, the quality of the fuel you bought last, all those things. These things have been proven to NOT work so many times it's ridiculous. Dyno testing is the only way to prove any increase in power or torque, so don't depend on the seat-of-your-pants accelerometer to give you your numbers.
  13. There is no external voltage regulator. T-plug? On what? Mine has a positive post, negative screw and one plug with two wires, one is the field wire to "turn on" the alt, the other is for the dash warning light.
  14. 1. 350 V8. Built for longevity and low end torque. 2. 700R4 automatic. GRANNY LOW FIRST! 3. Atlas II t-case, 3.8:1 gearing. 4. D44 front, Ford 9" rear, 4.56 gears. 5. 37" Swamper SX's(if they make 'em) 6. Armor, sliders, bumpers, winches front and rear. Shoot, what else could you do to make one better?
  15. Pull over first using the brakes as you normally would. Shift to neutral and try to restart. The brakes will still be useable, but the pedal pressure required goes up a bit.
  16. Ew...stop using the Fram filters. They're poorly designed and have been known to fail, letting dirt and debris shoot right through the engine. There's a reason they only cost like $4...
  17. So...you tow the Pathy on a trailer? Where is the fridge you speak of? I'm confused.
  18. I *did* weld a couple of things on mine, but you could do the same thing with silicone and some booty-fabbing.
  19. I use a band wrench. There's lots of room in there now!
  20. The airbox on a VG30i can be waterproofed. I shaved and sealed mine without doing too much to it.
  21. That's pretty damn cheap for a t-case. And no, 4-cyl and V6 transmissions are not interchangeable.
  22. Yup. I get mine through the fenderwell.
  23. Yes, they fit just fine and will reduce weight by a small amount. Stock wheels have a backspacing of 4.5" or so IIRC.
  24. I was just being a little sarcastic. No seriousness intended.
