  1. anyone know what the 2000-20004 xterra/fromtier 16" rims backspacing is?
  2. i'm looking at getting 16" rims on my WD21 just worried about backspacing. Wanting to run some 265/75R16 tires from Treadwright. More options for 16" rim than 15" over there. I have a set of Treadwright tires on my "83 F150 (forget which style but they are an AT) and have been impressed with the quality.
  3. $280 is cheaper than the Gibson catback. Was wondering how it would be to just build my own system. I would be interested in hearing it. Want something with a deep growl but mellow. Was looking at doing a pacesetter header unless I could find an OBX. Thorley would be good but I am not spending $500 on a header...especially going into sequestration and furlough days.
  4. Worked on the exhaust today instead of doing more tiling in the house.

  5. i welded the exhaust together today. I got a 25" Thrush (Cherry Bomb) glass pack with 2.25 ID inlet and outlet with some 2.125" exhaust pipe and adapters to make it work. I test fit everything and then welded it all together with a stick welder. My welding skills leave a lot to be desired (3rd time welding). It worked though. I tack welded it into place and drove to Big Time 4x4 (friends shop down the road) and had them finish welding the new to the old. My skills weren't good enuff for that with a stick welder. It has a good tone and a drone. Above 3.5k RPM it gets LOUD. Not what I want but it will do until I can put in my VG33 I have and install a new full exhaust.
  6. Kids are fed so now it's time to go work on the Pathy. That sounded pretty good ahardb0dy. I'm not really expecting much from the glasspack but need something to get me by for a while.
  7. I cut out my muffler last night due to the fact that some of the metal was coming apart. I am also taking out my cat as it seems to be getting plugged up. Cat is still in but coming out this morning. Moved the truck back to it's parking spot without the muffler. Man, it's much louder and @!*%tier sounding. My 8 yo thought it was cool thoough . Plan on getting a glasspack (or something) for now until I can get it all replaced, prolly pacesetter and gibson catback with a new cat.

    EURO CAMS!

Hey MY1PATH, completely off topic but I see you have a big thumper, '79 yamaha xt 500. I have a '79 honda xr 500 i'm fixing up. Both are cool bikes. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. And yes, i'm sure my exhaust leaks are contributing to the loss of power.

    EURO CAMS!

i'd like to use the Euro cams but will prolly just reuse my cams then. Man, my VG30 can't get out of its own way now. Almost no power anymore. Thinm my cat may be getting plugged though. It's coming out on Monday since my exhaust is about to fall off anyway.

    EURO CAMS!

Can i reuse the cams from my VG30 on the VG33? Or would it be easier/better to get new cams...and what else would I need to change with the cams?
  11. I like that. Did you use a smooth finish or the roller that makes it kinda lumpy? Can't tell in the pics.
  12. Just picked up an '83 F-150. Just like I had in high school. Don't worry keeping my Pathy

  13. I have a 96 Pathfinder VG33E currently sitting on a stand getting cleaned up. It will be going in my 94 WD21.
  14. Well, I decided not to get the Pathy. My buddy wanted to get it after I talked to him about it. I convinced him to get a Pathy instead of a jeep or another 4x4. His wife told him no though...why are wifey's so mean . I decided to trade my motorcycle for a friends '84 Ford f-150 4x4 with a 302 and a 4 speed manual (don't worry i'm not getting rid of the Pathy). Had the same kind of truck in high school, except 2wd. Oh the memeories . The bike just sits there and I can use the truck and I still have a '79 Honda XR500 thumper to ride as well. Thanks for the ideas though.
  15. I would love to email the seller but I think I'm gonna let it pass. It pains me to do that, especially since I have permission from the "Lord Queen Dictator of the World" (her words not mine). Between the Army, work and the family I just don't have time to work on it...it would take away from my VG33 swap and working on my B14 200SX SE-R. But it could be so cool.
  16. Well, I talked to my wife and she...would...let me buy it but she doesn't want to drive it for herself. She loves my Pathfinder and even drove it for a few years after we got married...but she won't drive going out four wheeling. She only wants to be a passenger. I tried to tell her how cool it would be to have both of us out four wheeling in two Pathys but she won't go for it. A two door just won't do it for her and the kids for a daily driver. Nunya, you convinced your wifey to drive while out four wheeling?? Mine likes her Hyundai Elantra...blahh. Arghhh. I want to buy it just because but I can't justify it...enough. Wanted to call the guy tonite on it but he didn't leave a friggen number. Can only reply to the CL ad email. Why not leave a number?! oh well, maybe I need a few more drinks
  17. I'll talk with the wife tonite. I didnt think of buying it and fixing it for her...wonder if she'll go for it? That would be cool. I have the space (1/2 acre) to put it, just hard to find time to work on it. Doesn't sound like it would be too hard to get running again, assuming the motor isn't toasted. Might see if I can swing by and look at it after work.
  18. I found an 87 Pathy on Craigslist here for $450 and does not run. Seller said it needs a starter solenoid, water pump and battery. Paint is a little rough but body looks straight and it has the lego rims. I'm debating on picking it up, possibly as a parts vehicle, but don't know if i need it...so I figured I would ask for you input/opinions . I currently have a 94 Pathy so I could not use the interior pieces and the hard parts are prolly as wore as mine. I could possibly use some motor parts with my VG33 I have on a stand. That would minimize downtime for my current Pathy. I could fix and sell it for more. Hmmmm...decisions, decisions . Would be kinda cool to have another Pathy...and a 2 door. Wifey would prolly make me sleep in it though if i buy it.
  19. i have some new belts waiting to be put on this weekend. Getting tired of the squeeling.
  20. I just got my VG33 setup on the engine stand and am working on removing lines and wiring harnesses not needed. Just cleaning it up pretty much to get it ready for the swap. Would be easier if the wife and family would let me work on it...instead of gettting volunteered to babysit. Dang wifey. Mr.510, put me in for one. No swapping the cranks then, correct?
  21. Finally got my VG33E. Just under $700 and 74k miles on it. Now to find the time to do the swap...and some help :-) .

looking forward to the extra power :-)...and a fresher motor.

    3. Nefarious

      Nefarious

i put on headers and made a custom 2.5 inch exhaust and a cone filter so that probably helped too but my mileage went up with my 3.3 swap as well

    4. Tungsten

      Tungsten

go all the way with VH45 pistons

  22. So what is the advantage of using the Pathy outer TREs? Wouldn't it be easier to use the HB TREs instead of tapping out the Pathy adjusters? Or did I miss something? I may go this route instead of the HooHaa.
