Finally got time to change the hose today. It was wet around the clamps. Changed the hose and clamps. Took me about 20 minutes. Definitely helps to heat the hose up first. I put mine in a bowl of hot water for about 10 minutes first so it would bend easier. Was only 30 degrees out when I did it. Cost me less than $6. No more gas smell :-)

I had an old F150 many years ago. The carb started leaking and caught fire. Saved the truck but could never get rid of all the crap on the motor from the fire extinguisher. Gonna try to replace the hose this weekend but gotta go out of town. Hopefully I will have time.

Every time I go to the salvage yard all the Pathy's are stripped to the bone, or frame. Good score.

I'm usually around 15-20mph in 4Lo. Anything more than that and your engine is screaming.

Definitely sounds transmission related. Mines starting to do something similar every once in a great while. What's the fluid level like?

My Pathy is running rich. Pretty sure the O2 sensor is shot along with a host of other issues. I just have to be home to do some work to it. Been running around a lot lately and it's had to take the back burner. I do have a VG33 sitting in my garage for it but have other projects to finish before that goes in, and I think I'm going to be needing another transmission soon. Lots of little issues with the Pathy but I won't get rid of it. Had it for over 10 years an my wife always jokes that I would get rid of her before the Pathy. I know I have not seen any Turbo Diesel Pathys here. Didn't think they made it to the US. When are you coming back to Good ole Rio Rat hole? My Pathy has been horrible for gas mileage. Don't know the exact numbers cause I never fill it completely but it's prolly somewhere around 11-12.

The click and no start seems to be pretty common on the Pathys. I installed a relay in the starting circuit a few years ago and never had an issue again. Used to click and not start several times before I could get it to fire up. Mr. Reverse has a schematic around here somewhere (or was it on 4x4parts forum?). It's been a while so don't really remember but it was really easy and cleared that issue up.

mines had the same problem for the past few years. Only when cold and when it's cold outside. Don't notice it when the temps are warmer. How much of a pain is it to replace? I remember that hose from when I did my timing belt. Isn't it under the intake?

Does the sound change with RPM or is it constant? Can you narrow it down to where on the motor? Was thinking possibly a pulley or tensioner but need more info

Were you able to get the hubs?

That's the trick used on the B15 Sentras to remove the CEL when you swap the exhaust manifold for a header. The stock manifold has a pre cat that fails and the motor sucks the ceramic back into the motor.

Dang, wish I knew that back in June. I wouldn't have tossed it. Oh well, live and learn.

R52 seems strange to me

i pulled my cat out his past summer for being clogged. Hell, I didn't know they were worth anything. I just tossed mine. Why are they worth so much?

No battery operated tools? and $20 for 15 minutes? What a ripoff. I wish I made that kind of money.

I used a kit called called Liner Xtreeme for the inside of my '83 F-150. I had used a sand color to match the plastics came out nice. Thought about it for the exterior of the pathy.

That sucks. Had that happen to my wifes cat when I did the timing belt. Cat didn't make it.

From what I understand, these motors will run at red line all day without issues. Hopefully it's something simple.

I've had my truck lifted with the 3" AC coils for several years now and didn't know about this part. That might explain why my truck tries to go sideways when I drive on the washboarded roads by my house. Well, that and wore out bushings and whatnot. I'll have to look into these. Thanks.

I did just that a couple of weeks ago. My cat was plugged and mufller was coming apart. I got underneath with a sawzall and cut the cat and mufller out. I picked up some adapters from O'reillys and a thrush glasspack for around $30. I have a cheap arc welder and welded it all together in the driveway and then tack welded it into place. The exhaust ends just befor the rear axle and is terminated with a turn down tip. I'm not good enough welding to be able to weld on my back with a stick welder around the whole piping. It was only my 3rd time trying to weld lol. The tack welds worked long enought to get down the street to have an offroad shop finish the last little bit. My Pathy has kind of a cool tone now but gets pretty loud at about 3.5k rpms. Too loud for me but it works until I can put in my VG33 and a new exhaust system. My little boys think it sounds cool though .
