  1. Awesome. Thanks for the info K9
  2. SpecialWarr, that looks fine. You should have just greased it and reused it
  3. Question for you guys. If there is water in the cylinders, how do you get it out? crank it with no plugs until it flies out?
  4. Devonianwalk, my neighbors were giving me crap about it and not getting pictures. I wasn't thinking about pictures as i was swimming around trying to hook up tow straps and make sure my boys weren't gonna open the doors lol. I'll be checking things out this afternoon when I get home. Plugs will be getting pulled first thing. Might pull all the carpet out and give it a good cleaning. It needed it anyway. Precise, no sense in getting mad or anything...and it was pretty funny...it wouldn't change anything. If it was my daily driver then that would be a different story. But then I wouldn't have been out in the desert playing anyway. Good point on checking the ECU. Never figured it would ever get wet since there is never any water here
  5. if not, band that guy right over there. Yeah you, don't look away
  6. Can I ban myself for driving into a puddle that was a pond lol
  7. Awesome, the [ictures worked first time Power still works. Still wet inside. I'll check the engine out tomorrow. Dropped off a 12 pack to the guy that pulled me out and hung out with him for a good while after work. Cool guy...what a way to make friends lol
  8. All the electrical is working...well it was yesterday anyways. Haven't had a chance to look at it today yet. When I get home I will probably start cleaning mud out of it. Not sure about the air box but probably got water in it. I'll start checking things on Saturday. Vados?? We have plenty of vatos here lol but they go indoors when it rains
  9. I know the feeling, Stabworthy. Mine just got dunked in 3-4 foot "puddle". Now might be a good time to drop in the 3.3L I have and rebuild the front end again.
  10. Hey guys! I haven't been on in a bit but started having issues with the Pathy dying when I let off the gas. So i started researching here and was going to check out IACV among other things yesterday. Well, it started pouring rain when I got off work. Which never happens here in New Mexico. So, instead I asked the kids if they wanted to go play in the Pathy. Of course they said yes. So off we went. I have open desert right across from my house so that's where we went. Tooling around through the mud and splashing through puddles. Nothing crazy. Just having fun. Well, i turned to go down a trail to go through a puddle and hit the hardball and swing back to the house. The "puddle" was pretty big, it crossed the whole trail but didn't think anything of it. It's all flat out in this area, wouldn't be deep at all. Ya know, no more than a couple inches, maybe a foot. WRONG!! Turns out that shallow water was 3-4 feet deep. I hit the water and lo and behold the Pathy doesn't know how to swim. The motor died and muddy water was coming in the doors. To make a long story short. We were stuck good. Thankfully, others were out playing and a pretty lifted F250 came to pull me out. The water scared his wife because when he pulled me out, the next "puddle" was even deeper lol. that one had water at my window level but he pulled me to a somewhat dryer location...and even towed me home. It was only about a block and he lives on the same street; just further down. By this time, i'm covered in mud from hooking up the tow strap and crawling through the window of the Pathy. The kids thought it was pretty cool and my wife laughed at me. We all had a good laugh. Gonna buy the guy a 12 pack tonight for helping me out. The truck is drying out right now. Don't want to start it right now. Hope I didn't hydrolock (sp?) the engine but if I did...all the more incentive to drop in the 3.3L I have in the garage. Just thought I would share with you guys. All in all, I thought it was pretty funny but this is my toy and I have another engine sitting for it all ready. Work computer won't let me add photos. I only got a couple after I got it back to the house. I'll add those later.

    Tires

I couldn't be happier with my Treadwright tires, forget atm which tread pattern. $420 shipped to the house for 24/75R16. Didn't cost me much to get them mounted and balanced and they work great in the sand here.
  12. Nice to have Pathy, or Terrano, owner near by. You are just a couple miles down the road from me
  13. Yeah, any auto parts store. They're specific for high pressure fuel lines. At least that s what I was told. Only about $2-3 dollars though for a couple
  14. My Pathy's registration expired several months ago. Forgot to renew it then came the government furloughs and then Christmas. Once I get the funds it will get re-registered. haven't been driving it though...too much . Hopefully you don't hit too many snags bringing the Pathy over. I know vehicles over 25 years old are pretty easy...and it's almost there. I've heard it can be pretty tough to bring vehicles over that are under 25.
  15. Was in Minneapolis a few years back and asked what all the tall poles were on the fire hydrants. It was so they could be found in the snow. The poles were over 6 feet tall .Glad I was there early in the fall. We've been getting down to the teens here and that's too cold for me.
  16. My truck doesn't get driven on the highway anymore for just this reason. I rebuilt my front end years ago (not the bushings though) and it is wore out again. Time to do the hard parts and bushings this time. There is a thread that has some part numbers and links to amazon for some energy suspension poly bushings. It's in the Garage section IIRC.
  17. Finally got time to change the hose today. It was wet around the clamps. Changed the hose and clamps. Took me about 20 minutes. Definitely helps to heat the hose up first. I put mine in a bowl of hot water for about 10 minutes first so it would bend easier. Was only 30 degrees out when I did it. Cost me less than $6. No more gas smell :-)
  18. I had an old F150 many years ago. The carb started leaking and caught fire. Saved the truck but could never get rid of all the crap on the motor from the fire extinguisher. Gonna try to replace the hose this weekend but gotta go out of town. Hopefully I will have time.
  19. Every time I go to the salvage yard all the Pathy's are stripped to the bone, or frame. Good score.
  20. I'm usually around 15-20mph in 4Lo. Anything more than that and your engine is screaming.
  21. Definitely sounds transmission related. Mines starting to do something similar every once in a great while. What's the fluid level like?
  22. My Pathy is running rich. Pretty sure the O2 sensor is shot along with a host of other issues. I just have to be home to do some work to it. Been running around a lot lately and it's had to take the back burner. I do have a VG33 sitting in my garage for it but have other projects to finish before that goes in, and I think I'm going to be needing another transmission soon. Lots of little issues with the Pathy but I won't get rid of it. Had it for over 10 years an my wife always jokes that I would get rid of her before the Pathy. How do you end up in Rio Rancho from Barcelona
