  1. the off road shop u went to must not know what they are talking about. they just lost a customer to there stupidity
  2. most oil filters are actually manufactured by Champ Labs. from what they told me is they are taking over most of honeywells customers i deal with them a lot because they manufacture our company's oil and tranny filters
  3. i got stock brakes on 31's and no problems. i put some new pads in a couple months ago cuz the old ones were shot. so i doubt u will have any issues. if you are really concerned then just do disks all around
  4. i got the same issue with my r50. gotta push it in myself every time. very annoying. is there a free replacement/recall thing for r50s also or no?
  5. yeah whats the problem with 4 runners? i really like them personally. i dont think we need to hate 4runners cuz we drive pathfinders. IMO the 4runners are much better lookin then the r50
  6. i dont know how to drive automatic... i love drivin stick. i do a lot of mountain driving because i snowboard all winter and its the best when im goin up with my buddys in there v6 rangers/tacomas and i smoke them in my 4 banger s10 because i can down shift every single one of my vehicles has been stick Except for my explorer on 35’s (I miss that thing). But I do wish I had an automatic every single weekday when I drive 45 min home from work in bumper to bumper LA traffic but yeah the new automatics are getting pretty damn fancy and getting better gas milage then the 5 speed. back in the day most people would never believe that!!!
  7. alright gotcha. yeah man its much better to be safe then sorry
  8. so how exactly did the adjustable suspension work exactly?
  9. ok im happy u didnt get all defensive on me. most people get all upset when i give them constructive criticism , but at least ur not one of those ignorant people. sounds like the arms brackets should be alright then, but i would still definitely just weld on a couple gussets onto those bag mounts because they WILL start bending man believe me. maybe add something on top of the bag plate too so that they plates wont start warping also. you dont want one of those bags blowin out on u on the road. much easier to weld a couple pieces of metal then to have ur truck slam onto the ground going 60mpg. (ive learned that from personal experience from when one of my air lines came loose, got close to the exhaust and melted) ive been lookin at those block u put in for the body lift. i think it might be a good idea to run sum bushing in between because from wat i see its just metal to metal which will cause lots of vibrations and will eventually break also. so either gusset the @!*% outa them if u dont mind the vibrations or put sum rubber in between them i would also recommend you get some Slam Speclties bags. Re8s would be perfect. They are much stiffer and stronger (double layered) then every other bag out there which provides an excellent ride. They also have internal bump stops in them so even if for some reason you lose all your air you can still drive on them. I use them for ALL of our air suspensions. I might have an extra set layin around here if ur interested If you got any questions about anything ill be more then happy to help you out. Id love to see that thing finished real nice and be reliable since u drive it daily. That is what i try to do with even all the trailer queens at our shop. That is my goal with all the car/trucks i do. Even if they are full show cars i still try to build them to be reliable enough to drive everyday. oh yeah an about the lift jack. heres the pic im talking about. im guessin u might have used it to lift the body up or something? its right between the frame n body on the right side inside the fender well Uploaded with ImageShack.us sorry for another essay guys
  10. hey man great looking truck. definetly something different. what are those wheels from? tractor? i would really recommend you do some serious gusseting/reinforcing on the bag mounts and the arm mounts. especially if ur driving this daily (if i read correctly) Those upper bag mounts will start warping out big time and the arm mounts dont seem to be gusseted or anything either. There is also a possibility that it will start warping out your frame from all the stress on that square tubing. The top bag mounts should also cover as much surface area of the bag plate as possible because if you have it set up with just the tubing in the middle of the plate it will start warping the plate around it. This will cause the rubber to start tearing away from the plate ending in a blown/torn air bag. The arm brackets on the axle will probably be ok, but its always better to be safe then sorry. I could not see them very well in the pic so i might be wrong, but to me it looks like there just kinda wimpy for those big ass arms!!! im not trying to be a dick or bash on ur truck i am just trying to make sure that you and everyone on the road are safe. i build suspensions (specialize in air and long travel suspension) for a living so im not pulling this @!*% outa my ass. its all from experience. if you got any close up pics of all the brackets and mounts i would love to check them. once again i am not bashing your truck or your work i am just looking out for everyone safety. Ive seen and heard to many horror storys from working at shop where people think stuff is done right until it something falls on the freeway and goes through someones windshield. sorry for the essay guys one other thing. why is there a jack in between your frame and body? did u forget to take it out after the body lift or somethin? im confused
  11. sweet mang. i do air suspensions for a living. thats my specialty. wat bags u running? what kinda set up? i was thinkin bout puttin some on the back of r50.
  12. r50s are just really tall cars with big wheels hahahhaha (i own a r50) welcome to the site mang that pic make me want snow!!! why wont it snow yet!??? stupid souther california im straight up fiending guys. i need to go snowboard asap or im gonna go crazy!!!!
  13. Terrano757: i have 22 inches of suspenstion travel in the back and 10 inches in the front on my s10. I designed the 4 -link rear end after all of the long travel baja trucks that we build so i have no problems going over bumps or anything. I have gone up many dirt mountain trails and through 3 feet of snow during a blizzard to big bear (road was shut down while we were heading up). I also drove it too colorado in the middle of winter and drove it through all kinds of snow storms and mountain roads when i was there with no problems. so no i have no problems going over stuff. the best is when people dont realize that i have an air suspension and that i am able to lift my truck to higher then stock height so they come up to me and ask me how i drive over speed bumps like that (whens it fully laid out) and i just say "very carefully" and walk away laughing.
  14. took my step bars off last night. i bent the @!*% outa one of them crawlin up in big bear over the weekend and all they do is just collect mud so what u guys think? better? i think it is. i just keep trying to put my foot there when i get outa the car cuz im so used to them being there woops.....dont mind the blunt smoke. didnt see that till i posted the pic haha
  15. ive seen plenty of off road trucks running turbos. Ive actually seen one with a remote mounted intercooler in the bed with 3 of our (derale) fans on it and the turbo inside a cover with a snorkel type set up to keep it outa the water so it can be done. just a lil more work, but if your stayin on the streets then no problemo
  16. ive done 2 chop tops in my life time. 4 inch chop on chrysler 300 (you can see it on www.socalcustoms.com) and a 6 inch chop on a silverado. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IS THE BRACING!!! Before you even make your first cut reinforce the @!*% out of it. make an x brace going from all 4 corners and a couple vertical pieces to hold the x brace it is gonna be a lil easier since ur not putting the roof back on but you still want to keep prefect geometry or @!*% will hit the fan once u take if off road let me see if i can find some pics to show u
  17. ummm...im kinda speechless it looks like a frog
  18. sounds like the panhard bar. which im pretty sure is needed with that lift. check out rocky road or 4x4parts.com.
  19. i kno i kno ive seen the thread, but everything in there is still contradicting my truck
  20. damn thats genius. i think im gonna make my own tonight. seems like a pretty simple design. straight bar with 2 tabs welded at the end right? (from what i can tell by the pics) i was hitting trails all weekend and woulda been nice to have that. my @!*%s gets pretty squirely up front
  21. so there is a company called pacer that makes rims? I work for Derale and Pacer (not the rim one) and ive gotten a couple calls about guys looking for rims. so now this makes a lil more sense
  22. yeah im quite interested in this too
  23. yeah we dont have much of problem with rust but silvapathy is right over a period of time the salt in the air from the ocean does start eating away so i thought i had an XE because it wasnt badged but mine does have the chrome bumpers. so it is an LE?
  24. not a low rider buddy its called a mini truck i put 3 years of work into thing. dont appreciate much when people laught at it just because its something different
