  1. do u guys have any pics of what you are talking about? ive built strut towers for a couple titans so i might be interested in this i know for a fact there will be high demand for these!
  2. might also add this to my list of stuff to make for r50s if there is enough demand for it. kefferjoe: im in the works of starting to make sum product for the r50s so PM me if ur interested in me making one for you.
  3. so i was cruising home and it started sputterin and just shut off. crancks over but will not start. seems like its not getting gas. tried cleaning off some of the sensors and didnt make a difference. tried to listen to the fuel pump and couldn't hear anything. so that might be the problem do these trucks have any history of fuel pumps going bad? gonna go by my shop tmrw and grab my OBD2 and fuel pressure gauge and see what i can find out. so if anyones got any ideas lets hear em
  4. not trying to copy your design man. just trying to improve it and add on to it. (thicker steel, gusseted mounts, TIG Welded, "safety holes") nothing personal against you guys a lil competetion wont hurt but if you do have a serious problem with my building these links then i will stop and go one designing my other ideas other r50 products to come: adjutable heavy duty 4 link (with your choice of joints) skids plates (front, mid, rear, gas tank) armor link that will connect subframe and tranny crossmember
  5. i am in the design stages on make skids from front to back to just the gas tank. so if u can hold off for a month or 2 then i can make on for you. not sure if they are going to be alumn or steel yet. steel might just be way to heavy will have the mounting bolts sunk into the skid so they arents stickin out and catching on anything can be ordered for bolt on or weld on applications so stay tuned...
  6. im in this to make money and help in the development of parts for our vehicles. so when i see an oppurtunity to make money i jump on it. not skimpin on anything guys. gonna be much stronger design then theres. i dont believe theres is 1/4 inch or TIG welded with gusseted tabs. So my design is going to be different. I only wanted the specs just so i could get the idea of what there is all about. and about the lawsuit @!*%.... thats just redicolous. first of all they would never go through the trouble of hiring lawyers and all that just over sum @!*% like this. If you guys are familiar with the aftermarket world then u will know what there is many companies that make the exact same product. Some are good quality and others are plain junk! "02silvapathy" - i had a very similar idea to that when i had mine up on the lift last nite. im going to look into it somemore so no one is interested in the adjustable 4 link besides muddfyledvaynes? on the side note....my pathy just took a @!*%. i was drivin home and boom its just sputtered and shut off. wont start back up. had to get towed 3 blocks home. believe it might be the fuel pump because i couldnt hear a thing when i put my ear up to the tank. do the r50s have any history with fuel pumps goin out?
  7. I am working on other things. I am not stepping on anyone toes. Its called competition. I know there is demand for this stuff so then why wouldn't I sell what people want? I am in the works of designing an adjustable heavy duty 4 link for the r50, which can be used with up to an 8 inch lift. Muddfildvaynes most likely be the first one to try it out on a SFD + Suspension lift. Also going to be making a bolt on skid plate for the front which can either be bolter to the "missing link" or welded on. Possibly going to make a mid skid and gas tank skid also if there is enough demand for them. If anyone has any ideas of what i could build throw them my way! Post anything that you wish they made for r50s and I will consider it if there is enough demand.
  8. Ok so heres what ive said to most of the guys that are interested in one and I thought I would post it incase anyone else is interested. I will have a quote once I make one for my r50 next week so I can see who much all the steel runs me. Im gonna test it out and make sure everything is perfect before I start making them for you guys. So within the next couple weeks I will be making them for the all forum guys. My plan is to use 1/4 square tubing and 1/4 tabs since i know most of you guys off road and need something heavy duty. Everything will also be TIG welded, which is a much cleaner and stronger weld. Im also going to look into the cutting out some holes in the middle incase of an accident for the motor to break through (talked about in the other thread). I want to find a way to do it without jepordizing the links strength. If you want to find out the shipping costs my zipcode is 90732 (San Pedro, CA) HELP! Anyone who has bought one of these links from Jackson Motorsports or whatever its called could you please PM me because I need the specs!!!
  9. yeah that exactly what i was thinking. cuz it sounded a lot like valve clatter that ive heard on many different vehicles before. so theres anything i can do prevent this besides downshifting everytime?
  10. nope only happens when the cars under load in either 4th or 5th gear between about 1500-2500 RPM's. it seems kinda like it happens when im in 5th or 4th (at about 1500rpms) and need to speed up a lil but no enough to downshift so i just give it gas and it will start makin the noise till i hit about 2500-3000 rpm. after it happens once it will usually happen a few more times and then stop. sometimes wont happen at all i got a Spal Electric fan that i am going to install pretty soon so well see if it is the fan or not r the fans on the r50s thermal clutch fans or just belt driven? looks like thermal clutch from what i can see
  11. looks very nice steevo. look very similar to what i am building i am in the process of making them for my car50. i trying to make bolt on style brackets and weld on depending on what you want. The bolt on brackets will most likely also be adjustable w/ 3 mouting positions for different angles. i will be taking orders once i finish my set once i have em done ill post up some pics and will be taking orders . price is not set yet, but i will hook all the forum members up with a good discount since i know the shipping aint gonna be cheap i will also be making pre-runner style bumpers for front and back (in the works as we speak). I will also be selling these by order (so i wont make them untill i get the order in) i also got some guys askin me to make those "missing links" ($25 + shipping....so as you can see much cheaper then what jackson autosports offers em for) and also some custom built adjustable 4 links (price will vary). so if anyone is interested any of this stuff let me know what u want so i can start getting an idea of how much material and time i will need to set a side for this because i got 3 cars that im doing for SEMA right now so i am freakin loaded with work! EVERYTHING IS TIG WELDED BY THE WAY!
  12. check the fluid. you can also bleed the clutch to see if that will help.
  13. thats fskcin bad ass man. i gotta meet him last summer when he did a show down here in hermosa beach one funny mother#$!&er. dont remember him beein that big tho. think he gained some weight for beein afroman he had some sh1ty ass weed. when i busted out my kush he was like "DAMN SON!!!" and it was stuff i grew myself too.
  14. yeah i know thats why i never run higher then 89 but i have had a few people tell me that this could happen from runnin low octane so ill give it a try
  15. i got one of those no name cone set ups in mine. cost me under 50 bucks for everything (filter, tubing, maf sensor adapter) the only problem i ran into was using the "universal" MAF sensor adapter. The sensor fit in perfect but the rubber gasket did not line up with the groove in the adapter so i just put some silicone on it and wallah i just stuck the end of the nose cone right on top of that air hole so it seems to get enough air. i do want to tear out some of those guts tho and make my own lil fiberglass air duct to blow all the air into the filter and motor (for cooling) noticed a little deeper exhaust note after putting it. not much else and lil someone said above building a lil shroud to keep the hot air away wont really do @!*%. if u want cold air u gotta go with a snorkle or run the intake down to the bumper (Only if you do NOT use ur vehicle for off roading because it will suck in water) heres mine
  16. wasnt sure if these ran belts or chains.....well now i know ill check the timing tmrw. hopefully it is just that i usually run 89 but ill throw in some premium today and see how it goes the sounds more of like clatter then a ping. almost sounds like the fan hitting on something but ive checked everything and nothing is rubbing or touching so im pretty positive its comin from inside the motor. i cant really pin point is because the only time is does it as it high speeds.
  17. so looks like i might be making a couple of these for some fellow forum members. im not 100% set on the price yet but it will be much cheaper then Jackson Autosports ( you have to cover shipping though) . just have to see how much all the material will run me so if anyone else is interested let me know so i can buy some material in bulk and make them all at once if your in the Souther California area i could prolly local drop off or you guys can pick em up
  18. oh yeah by the way i can make one of those "missing" links for you no problem. wouldnt take more the 15 min. i can make multiples of more people want them i can do it for 20 bucks but u guys would need to cover the shipping
  19. removing the sway bar will actually help you off road because u will get more articulation (flex) and keep your wheels on the ground. only down side is the body roll when takin turns or on freeway exits the pan hard bar must stay connected! it serves as an extra link bar to keep your axle centered while it goes through its motions so i would recommend you get or make a bracket ASAP!!! you can still drive without it but i would NOT recommend it!
  20. ok so heres my problem i get a strange clicking/tapping coming from the the motor usually in 4th or 5th gear between 1800-2800 rpm range. usually when the car is warm too and a lil under load too so hopefully one of u guys have experienced this before and can help me out it kinda sounds like some timing chain rattle or possible the valves. my buddys truck had a similar sound comin out of it and we replaced the timin chair and never happened again some help would be very appreciated. hope this is not anythin serious cuz this is my daily!!!
  21. im certified n been welding for about 1/4 of my life (im only 20 hahah) so i got a lil experience if ur gonna be welding anything over 5/16th i would def. recommend you get a 200+ amp welder. the 110 works great for thinner stuff but does not provide the penetration(VERY IMPORTANT) needed to do thick frames. a lot of people think that if the weld holds at first then its fine........if there is no penetration after a couple vibrations and hits that weld will break! i did my whole s10 chassies in 1/4 in 2x4 tubing so without a 220 i woulda been screwed i also would not recommend buy anything from harbor freight. horrible quality also make sure you know what you are doing before you weld something on your vehicle that could possibly endanger other peoples lives on the road! i use lincoln only and that is what i recommend. great customer service also
  22. my 98 is pretty bad. about 12-13 city and 15-16 on freeway. i did put a couple cans of injector cleaner in last week and clean out the throttle body with some cleaner and i actually got about 18 mpg. hopefully it stays like this i kno that the 2001+ r50s have the better 3.5 motor that i heard gets much better gas milage so when u guys say ur milages can u specify the year or motor
  23. 31 x 10.5 will fit no problem like said above. cant go much bigger then that without lifting 31x10.5 AT's on mine for reference
  24. hahaha thats bitchin man. did all 4 of u cruise around in it like some red neck convertible kinda @!*%? not callin u a red neck or anything but it just seems funny to me get started on the cage now!
  25. do i see one of our (derale) heat sink coolers up front on pass side of the radiator? just make sure u are not using that as your primary tranny cooler (if thats what it is) because it will not provide sufficient cooling. those are only used as secondary helper coolers by the way that your truck is beast. i think that pic just motivated my to make mine into a full on pre runner. SAS, full cage, motor swap, tubular chassies and everything. gonna have to start lookin for another daily
