  1. I tightened and then I had to un-do it... little by little.. I ended up leaving it as before
  2. You can tighten the steering box and have less play BUT the steering will be "funny" and the steering wheel won't turn back as easly as before..
  3. the winch must be bolted to a thick plate of steel, and that plate needs to be bolted to the frame (I used 8 bolts)
  4. you could put teflon tape on the plug threads... right?
  5. pleeeeeeeeease take pics of everything!!! It's the same project I have in mind. Best of luck!

  9. Dunno why they don't work. You can do right-click, open in new tab. Or see them here Steering MOD!
  10. I posted this in my ride topic, but this should be here too. ENJOY! The results are VERY good. NOTE: If the pics don't load, right click, open in new tab I did what we call here in Chile "Barra Rusa" or "Russian Centerlink" (no idea why the name) You need to modify 3 things (VERY EASY): 1) The centerlink. Get your old centerlink and change the ends for 5010 high friction bronze bushings with greasers (US$50 the whole job). Make the bushings to fit a bolt a little bit bigger than the biggest part of the old end. Here's an example of the result (this one has no bushing, just the hole, it works too but with bushings it last forever). It's very similar to grassroots modification. 2) The Pitman arm and the Auxiliar Arm. You have to take them out, make a little arm on it to re-inforce and re-drill the holes to a bigger bolt size (same as centerlink). They should look like this. 3) Make an arm brace. Everybody knows this one. Then, you assemble everything and ta-da!!! END RESULT: NOTE: This pics are not mine, but I did the EXACT same job. I took pics with my mobile phone and they sucked hahaha. The result is AMAZING and I strongly recommend to put a steering stabilizer. I'm going to do it now because the steering is very responsive. IF YOU STILL CAN'T SEE THE PICS, GO HERE. THE PARTS IN BLUE ARE THE ONES. Steering MOD

  12. Is that the same as the Coolant temp sensor?
  13. I have the same problem... I have rounded dash.. but I don't know how to get that part off to change the bulbs
  14. I'll talk to my mechanic about the slave cylinder, but no problem so far. I got the kit at www.eclutchmaster.com If you don't find one, go to ebay and search "pathfinder eclutch" or something like that.
  15. it's clever.. a friend of mine did a new centerlink and used Toyota Land Cruiser tie rods. I'm doing a kind-of grassroots centerlink modification + pitman and auxiliar arm reinforments.
  16. I have a eclutchmasters stage II ceramic clutch. The kit is like US$195 and it's really good! I use the truck everyday and it's very street friendly for a ceramic, and WAY diferent off-roading, great for dunes/sand
  17. I already cleaned the throttle body... but i'll try what you're saying.
