  1. This might help in regards to mounting a winch: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=16414&hl
  2. Depending on local laws, yes. But I think it looks good. I had an idea though-paint those bare panels where the bumper would have been, black. It probably wouldn't stick out as much then (aesthetically speaking). Question- what's the actual rear bumper look like (not the plastic)?
  3. I'm not sure. ARB/OME's catalogue states OME as 0.5". I've heard anywhere from 0.5" to 1.5". So I don't know what to believe. Ironman's catalogue states their lift amount as 35mm = 1.37". OME: http://arbusa.com/uploads/PDF/accessorizeYourRig/nissanPathfinder.pdf Ironman: http://www.ironman4x4.com/html/nissan/53.html
  4. Awesome. I'd be very interested in how they work for you, so keep us updated!
  5. Made it a poll. Probably should of put this up http://www.ironman4x4.com/html/nissan/53.html
  6. I was just told by Eli at Camel4x4 that the springs are rated 'B' (See chart here), which he said are around 20% firmer than original springs, though the chart says 25%.
  7. 440 lbs is the additional weight that can be carried, not the spring rate. I just want to make sure ya'll aren't getting the two mixed up. If that's not the case, sorry. If you have three people sitting in the back, you've easily reached 400 lbs. Also, there's not much to flex on here in florida, so that's not really an issue. I appreciate all the input, keep it coming.
  8. Yeah, I've been in contact with Eli too. I'm just trying to do my homework before I spend that kind of money.
  9. I'm looking at OME and Ironman lift coils. I've heard a lot of good about OME but nothing of Ironman. Has anyone with an R50 had any experience with Ironman coil springs? They seem to provide about the same amount of lift, but Ironman is about 70 bucks cheaper when all is said and done. I've kinda ruled out AC by the way. Thanks. 10. I can't answer your questions about pricing or installation, but I would like to point out that one of the lifts you were talking about is actually OME (short for Old Man Emu), not OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). I had this same mixup when I first got into all this. And actually, the 2" AC coil springs are more expensive than OME @ $180 a pair, whereas OME coil springs are $75 apiece.
  11. Lund makes some nice stuff! I love my bug shield from them.
  12. The prices on those ironman springs are certainly enticing. It seems the amount of lift they provide is about 1.37 inches. How much does OME provide? I'd rather not go with AC springs if I can help it, but I'd like to get the most height I safely can.
  13. I don't want to go with anything wider 'cause I figure this width has been fine. Plus more rubber means more weight, and I would think it would be harder to turn with a wider wheel. Also I like them tall and skinny. And I've heard tall skinny tires do better in mud, which is mostly what we have here in Florida as far as offroading goes. No rock crawling here.
  14. There's actually 13 different A/T tires available in 245/75-17 on tirerack.com. Plus, when it is time for new tires, I'd want to go significantly taller. Going from a 245/65 to a 70 on a 17-inch rim only nets about half an inch more ground clearance, while a 75 would give about an inch. I appreciate the suggestion though.
  15. I'm wanting to keep the stock width (245) and just go taller. Was thinking about a 245/75-17.
  16. Is it the width or the height of the tire that is the major factor in coming in contact with the struts? Of a larger tire, that is.
  17. On a 17" wheel, not a 16" wheel. But the treadwidth is also a factor. Get some sleep bud.
  18. You have an exhaust shop do it for you.
  19. Oh geez, I wouldn't want to do that! Thanks for the info Fueler!
  20. Thanks. It's more of a money issue. I wouldn't mind having to get in there again to replace the shocks/struts when they do need it, so replacing them for the sake of already being up in there isn't really a valid reason for me. Ride quality and safety issues would be. The terrain here in Florida doesn't allow for much flexing so that's not really a concern either. Also, I've never had any problem with any of my suspension components.
  21. What would be the consequences of installing lift springs without replacing the struts and shocks? My QX4 is at 115k miles. I purchased it at 78k miles. To my knowledge, I have the original struts and shocks. I haven't had any problem with them so if I don't need to replace them I'd just as soon not. But will the ride suffer any by installing the lift springs without replacing them? What could I expect by doing so?
  22. Why resist? I want to lift my QX4 when I get the chance. Not a SFD though. I'll probably go with HD OME.
