  1. My 87 came with those shoulder style lugs on lego wheels. So it shouldn't be too hard to find. James
  2. Wheres the love for us old guys? I mean old trucks? James
  3. That would have been nice when I was a teenager, I got caught parking so many times in my moms toyota station wagon. If I would have had a truck like this back then I could have gotten where no cop could go. (Mental note: Don't let my son, and especially not my daughter use this truck!) James
  4. And I thought I was going to be mudding through some poo! your supposed to dodge the patties! Thats not a click it a clunk. Wheel bearing wouldn't make that noise. I would go with johnm for starters. If you can reach the strut from above the tire, jerk it back and forth to see if you feel any slack. with the hood open have some one watch the top strut bolt while you jerk on it to see if it moves. You have something loose in there it shouldn't be too hard to find. James
  5. Welcome and don't forget the timing belt. If you haven't changed it and don't know when it was done, do it now! James
  6. Here is a tire size calculator but it doesn't have flotation sizes. James http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html
  7. I've practiced at 100 yards with my 1911 just for the hell of it and can hit a 10" target with 3 out of 5 shots. 200 yards can't be much harder. I use my Iphone ballistics program to calculate the drop. I don't have a 308 pistol but I do have a TC with a 10" 30/30 barrel that I used to shoot silhouettes with. That ram at 200 meters is about a people size target. I also have an bushmaster carbon 15 pistol in 223, with a 100 round beta mag for it. Thats a round for every 2 yards for when your coming for me. I've been shooting with my Dad since I was 6 years old, there isn't much we haven't tried. Now we are getting off the subject we are supposed to be discussing guns not shooting at each other! James
  8. I bought a Crossbread Supertuck for my glock 27 but ran into the problem you mentioned about waist size. I wear a 34 waist that fits just right and cant make myself buy a 36. From what I read on a CC forums the supertuck was one of the highest recomended for comfort. I also got it in horse hide instead of cow leather because the horse hide doesnt absorb moisture. The supertuck looks alot like the pic you posted accept its a little wider and the kydex is open on the bottom so I could put my glock 22 in it also. I guess I will need to get over my ego and buy at least one pair of 36 pants and see how it goes. I've been trying to firm up a little to make more room in the waist band but it just aint workin! James
  9. That looks cool, I wonder if they have them for an 87? James
  10. Mine was doing this so I pulled the little triangle plastic piece off of the anchor up on the side wall. Apparently it was rubbing slightly on the belt and with the weaker spring from being 23 years old it would stop. I will try trimming it and putting it back on but may just leave it like this. Why screw with it if its working! James
  11. A smaller gun like 380 or 32 is better for some people. If they cant handle the 45 easily they shouldn't be carrying it for self defense. I don't think any criminal will let you shoot him with a small caliber handgun and then say that didn't hurt. Where as a handgun that a person cant handle could be taken away from you. Nothing would suck more than being shot with your own gun! I saw a perfect example of this in my CCP class. A tall skinny kid had a nice sub compact para in 45. When we went shoot (a target 6 feet away) he had a 2 foot group. Thats enough to mis someone close to you. I've had my CCP for a few years now but have never carried. I always had my 45 in my truck because in Louisiana your vehicle is an extension of your home, and you can hide what ever is legal in there. And a cop must have your permission or a permit to search it. All my handguns are big so I used the excuse to run out and buy a glock 27 for carry but have yet to find a holster that I can hide the gun comfortably. I really want to carry while riding my bike so I need to find something for that. My favorite scatter gun is a Mossberg 590. 20" barrel with a cylinder bore, 9 round capacity, mag is even with the end of the barrel and looks cool! It even has a bayonet mount for an M7 or M9 bayonet. Meet up with a crook in your hallway with that and see if he doesn't soil your carpet for you! James
  12. Don't drink beer? Around here even 10 year olds drink beer with there pizza! Root beer that is. James
  13. I have one with the aftermarket 380 barrel. I made a buddy at work almost cry when I showed it to him. He had just bought a Sig Sauer in 380 for $500. The gun was built identical to the old Makarov just with a better finish and I only paid $120 for the Makarov. Unlike most semi autos the mak has the barrel mounted to the frame instead of floating in the slide, so its pretty accurate, but remember it doesnt always take a better gun to out shoot some one else! James
  14. If you put larger rear brakes and then add a proportioning valve, did you really gain anything? James
  15. If your that good at it take a little road trip and come visit south central louisiana, and I'll let you fix mine! I'll buy you some beer and boudin! James
  16. Subsonic velocity is not that slow. A standard 230 grain 45acp runs around 850fps. I promise you that will break the skin at 100 yards or more. James bonds famous PPK shot 32 acp which was a 70 grain fmj at 900fps. The soviet military carried Makarov pistol in 9x18 which is a little more powerful than a 380acp (9x17). 9x18 pushed a 95 grain fmj at 1050fps. The 9mm you refer to (9x19mm) standard load is 115 grain fmj at 1300fps. Speed of sound is 1125 fps so you don't have to slow a bullet down very much to make it subsonic. If you still believe it wont break the skin at 100 yards we can let you be the test subject at 200 yards and lets see what happens. James
  17. You can't fix stupid! Or so that you don't annoy the neighbors. It makes more sense to quiet the source of the noise rather than everyone where hearing protection. It would be like taking the muffler off your car and expecting everyone to where hearing protection. James
  18. Cool thanks man! I need to do this too. I don't have to wedge anything under the lever to make it stay on but sometimes I have to wiggle it to get it to stay on. Thanks for exploring this for us, because I'm lazy and would have just kept wiggling it. James
  19. Also A good excuse to finish the absolut! James
  20. I meant on the motor. He built the intake manifold, headers, fuel system, JWT cams ground to his specs, custom computer system to run it. He posted just the motor building on clubtitan, he didn't really talk about the rest of the car. When you start posting all that custom engine work on a forum where most of the guys think they have a race truck, you could almost see the drool leaking on their keyboards. And of course the next question for most of them, "can you make me one?" James
  21. I followed this build on clubtitan.org. Almost everything is custom built. It dynoed at over 400hp at like 7500rpms. He posted a few videos but nothing really making that V8 scream like I would like to see. James http://www.off-roadweb.com/features/1009or_psd_motorsports_chromoly_tube_chassis_four_seat_buggy/index.html
  22. Just remember if you add a spring to the bottom of the antenna it will change your SWRs and you will need to get the antenna retuned. James
  23. If its your neighbor that ratted you out I hope you were pounding with that sledge in the middle of the night! I would get all my buddies to pass by his house and fill his front yard with junk car parts! this is why I don't live in a restricted neighborhood, I would have gone to jail a few times by now. James
  24. Drums are enclosed but thats the problem when offroading in mud, it gets in but not out. The ebrake on rear disk brakes are a little drum inside the rotor, so they would have less holding power than a full sized drum. If you put rear disk from a larger truck it will just make the rear brake prone to locking up when you stop fast. Now if you put larger brakes all the way around you will have something. Try looking at 08 on up titans, the caliper setup in the front is very similar to the pathy. The rotor setup is totally different though. Not sure if all the bolts for the calipers will line up but could be simple upgrade. And you would be sticking with Nissan! 08 titan had the third and largest upgraded brake setup. I have been told that 07 and up silverado brakes would fit the front of a titan but I never verified that. James
  25. Maybe it's a Canadian thing because on mine the vacuum comes from the engine to the actuator. I would think the only trucks with a separate vacuum pump would be trucks with diesel motors. James
